I say...when they get back... they should get to work right away on their powerplay, among other things. There was a better effort today, but just a little short. Clearly some things to work on.

you can't compare starts. we went 3-0 to start last season. decent start, and then we started crumbling before climbing back up. One game is not going to make or break the season.

On the post game it was said that Blood played well on the blueline, but the other 5 d-men played horrible. I'm remembering why I hate listening on the radio. I can't make my own observations!

Hak said everyone except Toews is going, so I'm sure Harrington's on the trip... probably won't play, but good for "team building" lol.

I'm going to politely disagree. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen BU, so I'm not in a position to judge. I know their team is solid, but I think ours is pretty solid too. I think the BU game will be close, but I think we can pull it out if we play like we're capable of...even though its early in the season.

that makes sense actually. i'm one of those people that my friends constantly text/call me with hockey questions and i had one text me sunday morning really confused about his ticket...whereas mine clearly said UPPER.

one of the student ticket package options is lower bowl one night, upper bowl the other night of a series. they gave lower bowl seats for this game to those who purchased friday lower bowl seats. clearly, they should have given them to those with sat lower bowl instead, since upper bowl was full. i don't understand why people didn't come. i've been waiting a good 6 months...it was a horribly long offseason. hopefully the rest of the students, who clearly aren't diehard, will pick it up for the wisconsin series at the end of the month. oh, i was bummed about toews too. we were kinda hoping he was randomly going to show up during the game. lol. but yeah, gregoire looked good! i'm pleased.

It does, but I would consider myself pretty diehard and I got season tickets... it's flawed b/c some of the diehards get seats, as well as the lazy bums. I would say the majority of the diehards were in upper bowl tonight. Even waiting in line before the doors opened, most in line were upper bowl b/c when they let lower bowl in, only about 10 people went in i'd say.

the deal was....some lazy ass students decided not to use their tickets b/c it was an exhibition. (I'm speculating)... the upper bowl was full. we tried to move down to lower bowl and were DENIED. it better not be a trend b/c i'm just thinking about all those who tried to get season tickets and were denied...those people could have filled those seats.

Yes, if anyone hears of any networks that will be airing these games...let us know. my parents have satellite... and i was thinking this might be a good time to make a trek to the ol stomping grounds (that and it's my mom's bday)....worse case scenario is i'll listen to it on web radio. But seriously... its the freakin' ICEBREAKER! it should be on nat'l TV!

Just got home from the game.... started a little slow, but it definitely picked up. the gregoire-trupp-kozek line is going to be amazing! i was very impressed with gregoire and hextall looks pretty feisty. everyone looked a lot faster, which is excellent. i was surprised not to see toews, hopefully he's not nicked up too badly. i have a feeling he's going to add something else to the lineup. still don't like miller on that top line... i don't think he'll be there all the way through. On a side note, i was a bit peeved to see the empty lower bowl student section. Me and my friends had seats in the upper bowl, which, for the most part was at least 3/4 full. And despite the empty lower bowl, they still wouldn't let us down there. A little frustrating, but whatever. I had fun!

I feel.... that WesternCollegeHockey... knows nothing about the WCHA. That, and their lack of respect for Duncan is ridiculous. Even with his down year last year, he was still one of the top scorers in the conference. But whatever... I think we all know what happened the last time someone was overlooked.....hmmm I'd rank the teams in this manner: 1-CC 2-UND 3-DU 4-MN 5- After this is really doesn't matter...could get pretty jumbled... *DU and UND could flip flop, I hadn't entirely decided... it depends who has the stronger goaltending. Oh, I feel like Genoway deserved some love too. I'm going to wait for the coaches poll. Then I'll determine who the idiots really are. That, and I just have an overwhelming amount of faith in my sioux.

I think downtown is 2nd, 3rd, 4th St - ish.... Joe Blacks, Level 10, O'Reillys, and Gillys are all on the same street. I'd guess that's most of the college kids normal routine up here. I think it's 2nd st. (don't quote me on that) But if you can find University Ave in GF, you can get downtown.

OH YES! you have to go to the red pepper! And there's 2 in town, so if one's too busy, you can go to the other! (though one is a lot nicer than the other!)

Well, I'm a college student. I don't usually go out before the game as I usually wait in line for seats on the glass, but there are several bars with shuttles to the arena. One of which is Rumors I believe. Also, Suite 49 is a sports bar right next to the arena you could check out. After games, they often have live entertainment also. Otherwise, as I college student I always head downtown... typical hot spots down there for college age are joe blacks, level 10, gillys, bonzers, sledsters. Those are the main ones I hit up. If you're looking for non-drinking activities, I can't help ya there... this is grand forks after all! lol

I didn't know Gregoire was a French last name! But, he doesn't have an accent. I barely notice the Canadian accent. Sorry if I ruined all the fun! Because that's kinda humorous.

I'm looking for 3 somewhat decent upper bowl tickets for the saturday denver game in january. I had trouble with ticketmaster this morning, and I would like to get my parents better seats than what I was able to get. If anyone has any, or will....please PM me.
