Why are we running ? Trying to run out the clock ?

Problem is I have seen nothing from our defense this year to make me think they can hold GV under 40 points. Makes it almost impossible to comeback.

I would agree with most of that. The wind does make it more difficult to run only cause it makes the passing game more difficult.

Sioux have to stop the mental mistakes or this will be over quickly.

Regardless of how the game turns out, the Sioux have a lot of work to do. The US team plays horrible defense and we can't finish off scoring plays. The goaltending is just not up to par with what is needed to contend for post-season success. The defense needs to play a lot better also.

Congrats to UAA, they played hard all w/e and deserved to win. It is becoming painfully obvious that Grieco is not ready to be a regular starter at this level. There is certainly potential there but way too many soft goals allowed this year. Given he is still only 17 I would guess they had planned for Parise to be back this year and Grieco to get another year of juniors. Lammy hasn't exactly looked great this year either. Until they can get consistently good goaltending this team is going to struggle. I think the loss of Berry also hurts quite a bit, the defense isn't playing as well as I would have expected. As for the offense...if you throw out the Mankato series we have just 15 goals in the last 8 games. No better then Wisconsin is doing and I think most would agree the offensive talent for the SIOUX is quite a bit better than the Badgers right now. Real easy to be negative right now after a horrible w/e. I do have confidence in Hak that they will get things straightened out. Getting a little tired of having to get things "straightened out" for the third year in a row, although I will be more than happy if it consistently results in making the Frozen Four. It's the journey there that is driving me nuts. We may have to just get used to this type of inconsistency when we are losing top flight players after just 2 or 3 years.

How do we get outshot 14-3 in the 3rd period ? Pretty sad.

My keys for the SIOUX: Eliminate the stupid penalties (slashing, hooking) Make all the routine saves. Also need to make some of the "tough" ones. Everyone on the team competes hard for the entire game. No taking any shifts off. Crash the net. Take the body. Still waiting to see more physical play from this years team.

I'm gonna guess Greico. Since it hasn't been announced on the line chart my gut feel is the Hakstol will start Greico again if warmups go OK.

The AA webcast was very good for periods 2 & 3. Had alot of trouble with it in the 1st period. The resolution is much better than dataflix cause they seem to be sending three times as much data.

Looks like Martens is replaced by Fabian on the 3rd line. Bishop replaced by VandeVelde on the 4th line.

Here comes the makeup calls for the earlier crap.

These second periods just suck this year.
