Not sure that style of play will work in the playoffs. You may win some games but to win 4 in a row against good teams will be very tough.

Their fans should be able to car pool and still have extra space.

40 goals allowed in regulation over the past 14 games (2.86 average). Not acceptable. This team has no chance at #9 if this continues.

This is “hock” hockey.

Before tonight our last 13 games: 3,4,3,3,1,0,3,4,4,3,3,3,1. That’s goals allowed in regulation. In 10 out of 13 we gave up 3 or more goals. Tonight, 3 more so far. That is a recipe for losing in the NC$$ tourney. Almost no chance of winning a championship with that level of defense. I was hoping they would show some improvement in that area tonight but it’s not happening.

Hard to see Boisvert with much success unless he matures quite a bit. Doesn’t seem at all ready to handle playing in the NHL.

Sometimes I think they prioritize short term profits over the long term health of the product. You absolutely need to get kids and young people invested in the product so they will become long term fans. Pretty difficult for a lot of family’s to go to games when having to pay $62/$50 per ticket (plus possible fees). Much easier and cheaper to just watch on TV or stream.

Discounting the tickets from $50 to $20 now may cause people to wait for the sale price in the future. They need come up with a reasonable pricing model in the future. The goal should be a sellout and to create an awesome playoff environment to encourage people to come back for future games. Something along the lines of $40 lower deck, $25 upper deck sounds reasonable to me.

Obviously intentional and the league should suspend him for a game. If not, there is no real penalty for doing it, might as well do it again.

Better to get thru any illness now and not during NC$$ regionals.

If UND gets one point it eliminates Western from winning the league. Denver could still tie UND.

At a minimum let the gold medal game go 5x5 for a full 20 minute ot, then go to a 3x3 for 20 minutes.

Why would you do that when you can use the 3x3 gimmick. It’s going to be 3x3.

Sorry to say it is hard for me to care too much either way. The regular season is almost irrelevant, it all comes down to the Summit league tournament. Win that and you get into the NC$$ tourney where you are likely one and done. Once the season is over it is time to rebuild again as you will likely have some top players transfer. I’ll still watch the games and cheer for them but it is difficult to get excited about any success or lack of success. At least in hockey they are in the championship picture most years. With the coaching changes in football I expect them to be relevant much more often than not. Basketball is kind of like NDSU in the FBS, no chance of ever winning a championship.

If the ref said it was a dive then why didn’t he call a diving penalty? Start calling all the dives and make the diving team have to kill a penalty, that’s the only way you will have any chance of eliminating it. Right now there is every incentive for coaches to encourage players to embellish as it almost never gets called as a standalone penalty. You either get a power play or matching minors. With the decrease in scoring over the years, power plays have a greater impact on the outcome of games, hence a greater incentive to try and “draw” penalties. While you’re at please start calling interference and pick plays. See too many of these go uncalled.

Couldn’t tell definitively from the camera views they showed. They must have had some of those double secret camera views that we aren’t allowed to see.

The way Reschny had to be helped off the ice isn’t good. Got a bad feeling he is done for the year, hopefully he can come back sometime this year. Time for payback in the third.

It almost looks like we’re trying to lose. Sloppy, undisciplined play.

Not sure UND will be able to play tomorrow, they have to be totally exhausted with the effort they gave tonight.
