Might as well bring back the Fighting Sioux nickname.

Don’t have a problem with giving the “better” team home field advantage. My problem is the process used. You have a number of very experienced people that are saying that the high bid always wins. If this has never been the case then the NC$$ should be transparent enough to give numerous examples from the past 5 or 10 years where the high bid did not get the home game. You don’t even need to give us the teams involved, just an aggregate number. Surely, this isn’t the first case in the last 5 or 10 years where this happened. The committee basically has no leg to stand on in their argument when they gave Montana a home game. Extremely corrupt organization. The reason that UND was able to sue the NC$$ over the nickname was the simple fact that the NC$$ did not follow their own bylaws in implementing the nickname ban. They will do whatever they want to do and ignore whatever rules there are. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt.

Somehow I think the line would be the same regardless of who we got matched up with: ”if we hadn’t been matched up against insert team we’d have a home playoff game.” I would love to see some transparency in the bids. I certainly don’t trust the NC$$ at all.

Did UND reinstate the Fighting SIoux nickname? If we kept the Sioux name we wouldn’t be allowed to host playoff games, that was the big selling point. Looks like we still can’t get home games for some reason.

Dueling Bubba’s today.

Early in the game, yes. Late in a game that’s decided it is pretty dumb. Why risk an injury? While I wouldn’t wish an injury to any player it hard to be sympathetic if it happened. Just plain stupid.

Bubba is hoping a 21 point loss is enough to make the playoffs.

This is the kind of game that gives the voters a reason to say no.

That makes too much sense.

Special team don’t suck, it’s much worse than that.

Six touchdowns allowed on basically seven possessions.

Need a turnover. Don’t think the defense can force a punt.

Need to score and onside kick. Try to keep the defense off the field.

Bubba’s head coaching record is 76-64 over 13 seasons before today. Works out to an average season of 6-5. No reason to think things won’t continue along this path in the future with him as the coach. At some point shouldn’t you accept that Bubba is an average coach? Do you want an average football program or do you strive for better? If you want the football program to matter it’s time to upgrade at the coaching level.

Predictions If UND wins: They make the playoffs, don’t get a seed. NDSU doesn’t get seeded. If NDSU wins: NDSU gets a 3 seed. UND makes the playoffs if a 1 score game. They don’t make the playoffs if a 3 score or more game. On the bubble with a 2 score result. Final score 28-20 NDSU. UND’s defense still doesn’t give me enough confidence to predict a win today. Also, the offense has not shown they can score enough points against NDSU in previous matchups. I hope I am wrong. I do believe UND has done enough to make the playoff field.

The problem is not necessarily a win/loss thing. It is the way the team is playing. They look slow and lack quickness. The passing has been nothing short of awful and we seem to panic with the puck in our end. The defense has been a huge disappointment so far. We have been completely outplayed by Minnesota, Denver and Quinnipiac. It’s one thing to lose a game due to a bad break or just having a bad night. It’s another thing to be completely outplayed in almost every game when you face the better teams. Can they turn this around? Maybe playing teams a notch lower than Denver, Minnesota, and Quinnipiac will help them build some confidence and develop better chemistry. I hope so, but it needs to happen pretty soon or we’ll need to win the conference playoffs to make the NC$$ tourney.

We’re scoring an average of 31.5 points/game and allowing 30.1. USD is scoring 16.2 and allowing 26.1. I’ll go with a final score of 28-24 UND.

Only one regulation win in the past eight games. Obviously nowhere near good enough. Hopefully they stop digging the hole starting tomorrow night. In a lot of these games it appears the opponent is just quicker and faster. Not what I expected when the season began.

Not a big fan of 3x3 but since it exists it would be nice if Berry learned how to coach it. It’s all about puck possession and creating mismatches. It’s not taking every wild shot like you might in 5x5.

Illinois state was running out the clock when they took an exceedingly stupid holding penalty that stopped the clock. Without that YSU never would’ve had a chance to score at the end.

For me it’s pretty simply. If he made a sincere apology to the victim he should by all means get a second chance. If not, he doesn’t deserve it. Would like to know what the victim of his action has to say about it today.

At this point in his college career he is what he is. He’ll probably end the season with 7-10 goals and 7-10 assists. Anyone expecting more will likely be disappointed. He’ll show flashes from time to time that give you hope, then disappear for long stretches. No reason to expect anything more based on his first three plus seasons.
