Touchdown stands.

Under review

Nice play by the defense, pick 6.
-
Need to finish the drives with a Touchdown. FGs not gonna do it.
-
Gotta go for it on 4th. Field goals no gonna win this game the way the defense is playing.
-
No sound, no down and distance. Pathetic. Just like our playing.
-
Gonna be a very long day if they keep playing like this. Doesn’t look like they are ready to play, need to quickly change this.
-
Missouri State did have something UND didn’t…a running back that could hold onto the football in critical situations. Addition by subtraction.
-
The Wild were a fun team to watch this season but they weren’t built to have a long run in the playoffs. Their defense and penalty kill were just average and their defensive net front play was somewhere between average and brutal. Hopefully they can improve in those areas or next years playoffs will be a waste of time.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

We’ve already had two players leave (Calder and Budy) that transferred to UND. So my guess is another transfer is leaving. -
My guess is you could have watched the game using the Ballys app. A few days ago the twins and wolves were on Ballys and Ballys plus while the wild were streamed on the app.

I think the Vikings plan is to keep trading back in the draft until they get every pick in round 7.
-
Pretty much nailed it.

The new regime is off to a confusing start. Trade the #12 and #46 picks in the draft for #32, #34, and #66. So they move down 20 spots in the first round so the can move up 12 spots in the second round and gain a third round pick. WTF ? Someone needs to explain the logic behind this cause it makes no sense to me.

Just go back to the old system. Five minute 5x5 overtime. Win and it counts as a full win. Still tied after OT then leave it as a tie. Otherwise, if they really feel that there can be no ties then give a 3x3 OT full weight, 100% win. Stop confusing everything where a win (or loss) is really just a tie.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I suspect that Spicer would be best served to spend next season in the USHL. Not sure why the rush but it’s his decision. Word is that 17 year olds do not always make the correct decisions. They need parents and advisors to help ensure that they are thinking long term. This goes not only for when to start college but also when to turn pro. Make the wrong decision and you can severely impact your long term career. Not really a big deal for UND, they have plenty of time to find a replacement for the 2023-24 season. If they can’t find a quality recruit I’m sure they can find a pretty good forward in the portal. -

There has to be four games missing. As posted I only see 31 games. My guess is the other four are Bemidji and Cornell. -
Good news: Duluth lost Bad news: Denver won

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I think you go to the portal for a goalie only if you believe Hedquist needs another year in juniors. He had a pretty rough season a year ago in the USHL and seems to have rebounded with a much better season in the BCHL. It would make no sense to bring him in to sit behind a portal goalie. If you bring him in then you split playing time with Hellsten until one takes the job. -
Don’t think they are testing for Covid anymore, otherwise I would be tempted to cheer for both teams to have to forfeit.
-
Guess I’ll have to cheer for Quinnipiac on Sunday. No way I could ever cheer for Michigan or chickensh1t Mel Pearson.

UND vs. Notre Dame - Albany Regional - NCAA regional semis
rochsioux replied to stoneySIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Sadly, it was not the correct call. The call on the ice was onside. There was no replay that could conclusively say that the left wing was offside. The side views were blocked by fans. The only view you had was from the far end zone which will always be distorted due to the parallax view. There is no way to precisely determine the correct relationship between the players skate and the blue line from that far away. Not only is the foot above the blue line due to the skate blade but the blue line is not painted directly on top of the ice. If the evidence to overturn if not conclusive then you have to go with the call on the ice. Absolutely pathetic job by the linesman. Parallax example -
UND vs. Notre Dame - Albany Regional - NCAA regional semis

In 12 years under Hakstol UND won zero NC$$ championships. They made the NC$$ tourney all 12 years and the Frozen Four eight times and only lost the opening regional game twice (went 18-4 in regionals, 1-7 in Frozen Fours). If you had to chose, would you rather have Berry’s tournament record or Haks ? Berry is 3-3 in regionals, 2-0 in frozen fours with one frozen four appearance in six years (Covid year a non counter) and made the tourney in 4 of 6 years. For me I think I would take Hakstol’s. The seasons were more fun when they would get to the frozen four so often. Not making the tourney or losing the first game is a real downer. Granted, losing in the frozen four was no fun either but it was a lot of fun winning the regionals so often…the season lasted a lot longer. Under Berry there was only one fun post season, and some years no post season. Not sure one title makes up enough for all the other quick exits. -

2016: 34-6-4 National Champs 2017: 21-16-3 Lost to BU first round 2018: 17-13-10 Missed the tourney 2019: 18-17-2 Missed the tourney 2020: 26-5-4 Covid 2021: 22-6-1 Lost to UMD in regional title 2022: 24-14-1 Lost to ND first round Since the NC$$ title six years ago UND has won one tournament game beating the mighty AIC last year. Let that sink in a bit, ONE win in six years. Don’t know about anyone else but I expect a little more. Conference titles are nice but lose a little significance for me when we can’t even get out of a regional.
