  1. Hard to believe they would drop it this late unless they had someone in their back pocket ready to play that weekend, but I guess nothing would surprise me right now.
  2. Bottom line: The nickname issue was a done deal and Carlson decided to revisit it against the wishes of the University, alum, and majority of fans, and because of his disdain for the SBHE. His shortsightedness and personal power trip could end up damaging UND for years, and the ironic thing is he doesn't really care...UND is just a pawn towards his end game.
  3. While bleaching his hair again for the Frozen 4, Rau gets a drop in his eye and is temporarily blinded. Meanwhile, Lammy sneaks a Sioux undershirt onto his jersey pile and Rau with blurry vision puts it on under his Gopher jersey. During the game Rau gets into a fight (probably the most realistic thing in this fable) and the BC kid pulls Rau's jersey over his head and reveals the Sioux jersey. Gophers are kicked out of the tournament for wearing offensive equipment, BC gets blamed for the 'plant' and is kicked out of the tournament, Union/Ferris game becomes National Championship game. That's not much of a stretch is it?
  4. Education is going to be the key to this thing, a casual UND fan who watches a few hockey games a year on TV will be inclined to vote yes because it sounds like the vote the University would want...that's the scary part.
  5. I'm going to hope that the Gopher-BC game is filled with big hits and goes to 5 OTs, then whoever wins the other game will be fresher and not as banged up on Saturday and has a chance to win. That's all I can hope for at this point.
  6. Sounds suspiciously like the Wizard of Oz browbeating the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion to me.
  7. No better than an offsuit 8 at best. Where in the hell did you hear the word nattering, I actually had to look it up.
  8. While I have no problem cheering for SL in their lawsuit against the Negligent Cashmongerers of Amateur Athletes, I would hate to have to count on that as our last ace in the hole.
  9. For you legal eagles out there, was this the expected ruling at this time, deferring until after a vote?
  10. Montana is going nowhere in the near future. They had no interest in moving before, and they certainly will have no interest now with their football program in disarray. If anything this has solidified them in the Big Sky for the next few years at least. And if/when they do decide to make a move, the Board of Regents will make them take MSU in tow, guaranteed, which will slow the process down because they're even further away from FBS than UM is.
  11. Was really hoping Brock would stick around for a while, I felt he had a chance to put up Frattin-type numbers if he stayed the full term as much as he improved last year. Oh well, that's part of recruiting studs...you're probably on borrowed time you just don't know how much.
  12. Best line I've seen on this..."Showing the consistency he never did as a pro quarterback". What a disaster, gets busted...bailed out...busted again for the same thing 2 days later. He's even a worse criminal than he was a pro QB. Now it's time to stop holding his hand and send him to some combination of jail/rehab for a long stretch instead of giving him probation after probation so he actually has a chance to straighten his life out. Man this reminds me of the Jeff Dubay saga.
  13. I just bunch it under "Conspiracy to Commit...", then everybody is guilty.
  14. Nobody saw this coming. There might be more to the story than they're letting out right now, nobody is saying much but it looks like it blindsided Pflu and O'Day. Unless there is something bigger that we haven't heard yet it looks like UM has made the decision to make a stand and start over much like MSU did at the end of the Kramer era. Even though some of these incidents were before Pflu was head coach, they have escalated the last couple years and the University has to put a stop to it, so the coach and AD are the logical place to start. Sad day for Griz football but I give credit to Engstrom for making a tough decision...right or wrong he is going to be under pressure for it. I hate to see what the repercussions and effects will be for the team the next couple years, but the bigger picture is the students who attend the University of Montana have to be able to attend a safe environment, and that hasn't been the case lately. And with a daughter attending UM, that is high on my radar right now.
  15. Sounds like Zucker is going to play Thursday night, they're throwing him right in the mix.
  16. And, sadly, for some that is an acceptable conclusion. And the rest of us would not live Happily Ever After.
  17. Kristo is the only guy I'm seriously thinking might leave, but we probably won't know that until summer. I think everybody else will probably come back, or at least should come back to further their conditioning/game experience before moving to the next level, I think they need another year. But after we were all blindsided by Hextalls departure last year nothing would surprise me.
  18. Forwarding this to all my delusional Notre Dame friends immediately. Thanks MafiaMan
  19. I hope you're right Ham , with the experience the guys left standing were forced to get this year and hopefully all the walking wounded back we would be a force to reckon with. Let's hope they put on the green and white for one more year.
  20. Last years loss was a major disappointment considering the talent we had on the ice and maybe some of the blame should have been on the coaches, but for people to bash our coaching staff for losing this Regional Final which we had no business even being in is beyond ignorant. This team has overachieved to even be in position to reach the tournament, let alone actually make it and have a chance to go to the Frozen 4. If people can't see that then they really have no clue.
  21. Not the ending we hoped for but kept it interesting until the very end. Good luck in Tampa.
  22. They were a half-step faster and our defense had a number of lapses letting guys get behind them, they deserved the win.
