  1. Kristo from Knighter.
  2. 4-4 tie. Denver still in 1st place.
  3. Krushelnynski with a hat trick in the 3rd period after Goofs led 4-1.
  4. Anyone else watching this Gophers collapse in Colorado Springs? 4-4 going to OT.
  5. Has anyone heard if Friday/Saturday are White Out games or if anything else special is happening? No UM home game this season so with Denver in town, you have to figure it's the biggest series of the year in Grand Forks.
  6. LOVE IT! I was pretty down in the dumps about 7 minutes ago! GREAT COMEBACK BOYS!
  7. I know this was unveiled right around New Year's 2012 but I'm posting the video link again if many of you (like me) are looking for some help to get the blood boiling prior to tonight's face off. The "History" of Notre Dame Hockey: http://www.und.com/allaccess/?media=297399
  8. I will be watching the games live. It's become a Black Friday tradition for us to go to a game at The Ralph but this year they are on the road so this streaming Video will have to do. I was watching some of Notre Dame's video highlights and the camera work leaves a lot to be desired IMO. The top cam angle seems very low, only about 5 rows above the players bench and they often switch to the ice-level camera. I'm sure this will cause umbrage. May the best interlocking 'ND' team win!
  9. Sorry, more info here regarding Saturday telecast on DirecTV and Dish -- Channels 628/434
  10. Schloss tweets Saturday's night's game will be on NESN (available on DirecTV and Dish). Does anyone know if it might be picked up by one of the Fox College Sports channels -- sometimes they show a NESN telecast or a ROOT Sports telecast.
  11. I still consider it a travesty that Michigan Tech isn't part of NCHC. Tradition alone should get them in. But I digress... Denver/CC has a pretty cool thing going with the Gold Pan season series. Critics often refer to it as the Bed Pan. That seems to be their thing but I could see that trophy working its way over to the entire league. I assumed the Broadmoor would have moved along with the NCHC since CC is affiliated with the new conference. I don't see the connection with the new WCHA battling over a landmark trophy representing a location thousands of miles away from a member's campus. DQ Cup seems more appropriate for the new WCHA. I like the tradition and history that Colorado Springs brings to the sport of college hockey. At its inception, the Broadmoor was where the National Tournament was held and if this is the National Conference, I'd like to see them return to their roots in someway. How about these suggestions: -Something Jug related - perhaps a Jug painted wildly with the school colors of the eight respective schools. Jugs are cool and they often contain spirits. -Something "ice" related. Couldn't we have a giant sculpture that looks like it was carved out of a hunk of ice? The "Deano" -Dean Blais' head chisled out of ice? I'm thinking something Walt Disney-esque? - The "Gino" - A pair of his late 70's/ early 80's two-toned eye glasses glued to a plaque? Perhaps a replica of a 25 year old blazer that Gino wore in 1982 that could go to the winning coach. - The "Skate" - a Giant Bronze Skate? It practically markets itself come tournament time -- "Eight for the Skate"
  12. If you want fun - stick with one like RUMORS - short but fun trip with some rowdy fans. BWW is usually more family friendly. Speedway is also very good and reliable (leave on time, pick up on time) - grab a Keystone Light and go!
  13. Blue Moose does not have one - at least they didn't last season.
  14. I like to fire up my Hockey Mix CD - lots of good tunes by The Zambonis, Oh Canada!, Chelsea Dagger, UND songs. Driving to The Ralph it's always being played. I get excited about a lot in general but walking up to The Ralph with 12,000 of your friends is a unique charge. At home on TV it's all about trying to replicate Red Pepper or roasting up some candied almonds. Neither one is like the real thing but then again, I'm not at all the games either. Lots of fun bars to frequent in Grand Forks -- just saying the words "Grand Forks" makes me what to have a beer.
  15. http://www.grandforksherald.com/pages/areavoices Also if you go to You Tube and search for "Through These Doors 202" it should come up. Season 2 Episode 02 So next week's will be 203. This is usually posted every Thursday and Schlos puts the link into his blog (above) as well.
  16. The games are on Channel 306 here in Fargo so I am delighted. I'd watch the fuzzy picture with rabbit ears if I had to. Hammer does use cliches, always has. The "Kober" got a bit old and every shot "whistled wide of the net". Did anyone else hear Hammer say, "OH BABY, WHAT A PLAY!" after one of the goals? I found that ironic because that was always one of Jim Scalon's lines. Hammer's forte is play by play on the radio so sometimes he could cut out all the details and let the picture tell the story. I can say this - Dan is Sioux Hockey fan to the core and loves this program as much if not more than many of us who post here. I think you will see this passion come out in years to come. That being said, I'm ok with the telecasts and the job Midco does. Katie O'Keefe knows UND hockey and has a good rapport. She fits the mold of a pretty face on the sidelines but I forgot how midwestern her accent was - certainly something that viewers outside the region will focus on; impossible not too. Koberinski will grow in his role as a color man - he will need to add some personality to the telecasts but in the first telecast, he had his moments. While we are on the subject of production, I continue to be impressed with the "Through These Doors" segements. They are very well produced (better than the UND Sports Shows Midco does). These snipets add a human element to the team and that endures them to the fan base. They are splendid. The only thing I don't care for is the narration this year. Let's let the voice over stay out of the way and let the pictures tell the story. Don't tamper with a good thing.
  17. Memories for me that instantly come to mind: 2006 NCAA Regionals: UND vs. Michigan and of course, Holy Cross vs. Minnesota Jan 4, 2003 Down 4-2 to CC with under 3:00 to play, Blais pulls the goalie and Sioux score 2 to tie it up, 4-4 Feb 28, 2009, final home series vs CC, the Sunday afternoon game was incredible. 2010 WCHA Playoffs - booting out the Gophers and moving on to St. Paul 2009 when Gwoz got tossed and walked on the ice - ultimate jerkface moment - electricity in The Ralph was palpable. Honestly, pretty much every home game I've attended at the Ralph. The bus rides to and from the Ralph, seeing old friends and making new ones in the bars between periods, seeing your kids ride on the Zamboni. Always a memorable time, unbeatable for me!
  18. Looking to get to Mankato March 8 / 9 Tickets go on sale October 1. Is there a visitors section/ 100, 101, 200, 201, 300, 301 seem to look like the spots. Can't wait - had tickets in 2010 but that was the blizzard that wrecked the Metrodome - game was postponed but still got a refund via Ticketmaster.
  19. Well that's encouraging, I guess. At least they aren't saying "no". This would be a serious hit if the games are no longer on CableOne. You have an entire generation of UND Hockey fans that are suddenly going to have to deal with not seeing the home games. Let's make this happen. For me, this is the biggest off-season issue. Bigger than players going pro or the Sioux nickname vote because we pretty much knew how the latter would end up.
  20. I have personally never had a bad meal at The Blue Moose in Grand Forks. Great menu, very good service and it's a fun atmosphere on a Sioux Gamenight. Green Mill is also a good place to get some apps and a beer before/after a game. Someone needs to re-open Suite 49.
  21. Personally, I get a lot of joy out of beating St Clown. They like to think they are on the level with UND, Minnesota, Denver, etc., but that's not the case. It great to remind them of that a couple of times a year. That, and I will never forgive them for the photoshopping of the Sioux logo (in a game action shot) in one of their programs/ media guides. Busch League.
  22. Here's hoping for a hard fought battle and no sudden death controversial finish that will stuck in the craw of the losing teams fan base. Whatever the result, the rivalry will be stengthened because it's a meaningful game on the sport's biggest stage. Hopefully the Sioux have Spring Break plans in Tampa with BC or Duluth.
  23. Son of a * Johns Hopkins always screws up my NCAA Lacrosse bracket!
  24. I am 0/3 so far in bracket, thanks for playing.
  25. I like them, I really do. They are simple, sleek and not ultra-modern ala Oregon Ducks. Best of all are the striped socks. Sharp. Now let's play some hockey
