Dave Hakstol Leaving to Coach NHL Philadelphia Flyers
GoalieMask replied to Ray77's topic in Men's Hockey
Whoever becomes the next coach, wow.....what a lineage you join. The last three coaches alone were at the helm from 1978-2015. They EACH won 250+ games, 13 conference titles, and 5 National Championships. "Here's your clipboard, and your whistle, go get 'em." -
Dave Hakstol Leaving to Coach NHL Philadelphia Flyers
GoalieMask replied to Ray77's topic in Men's Hockey
Sad Day in Siouxville but I wish the coach the best in the NHL. As a fan who came along with a strong interest in the program only in the mid 2000's, Hak is the only coach I have really known. It's the end of an era and I salute a guy who was the keeper of the flame for a decade. Some outstanding achievements in which he and his teams brought us some great seasons. -
University of North Dakota Hockey 2015-16 season

Love the props given to Stecher. He is a dude. Nice Twitter last night from Joey Leleggia singing his praises during the game. I can see both Schmaltz brothers leaving. Poolman maybe too unless others have better information or instinct. Zane seems to be 50/50 although I would be over the moon if he's back. We have plenty of incoming freshies to make things interesting. We can re-load but Zane will be the pivotal one to watch. Wide open league and some fun matchups in 2016 - including a series with the Badgers at The Ralph. -
That's a fast slapshot of a response. Thanks!

Anyone know of an online source or at live radio stream of the first semifinal for those still at work?
-
This will be a Pepto-chugging night. UND exorcises some demons from last year's semifinal and gets an agonizing, hard fought, 2-1 win. The Crystal Ball is fuzzy, but I read....Schmaltz?
-
Or Thursday for that matter...

I checked with The Ralph and due to the other events they will have this week/weekend, the Arena WILL NOT be open on Saturday showing the game via the Jumbotron. That's a bummer. I had a great time in Fargo (the highlight of the year thusfar as I figured it would be) but I was hoping to spend the night with other fans if Saturday does indeed happen. #hang8

University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season
GoalieMask replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
As a fan who calls Fargo home, this may have been the best weekend ever from a fan perspective. Panzarella's goal was one of the biggest of the season. You could feel all the tension release suddenly among 5300 last night when that went in. Wow, what a memorable moment. It may not be equal to 2006's Regional in some people's eyes, but this is just another chapter in the remarkable story that is Sioux Nation; the greatest fans in the game. Now for the final chapter in two weeks. -
On Schloss' blog he picked SCSU to the Frozen Four over UND. He has Boston U winning it all. He seems a bit hung up on the historical fact that teams who lose 2 in a row in the WCHA/NCHC tournament don't advance in NCAAs.

I think Zano gets a shutout this weekend, returning to the scene of some of his Fargo Force success and making a statement after last weekend that he is still the heart and soul of this team. North Dakota 2 Quinnipiac 0 I would like to see Colton St. Clair or Bryn Chyzyk get a goal at their old stomping grounds. Freebee bonus pick (of moderate value to some) - Michigan Tech 4 St. Cloud St. 3

I get that, I really do. That said, with the TV obligations the game will be drawn out and there may only be 60 minutes in between games. I recall at the Frozen Four in 2011 that the time after the Duluth-Notre Dame game was a great chance to connect and visit with other Sioux fans. Oh man, how high our hopes were leading into that Michigan game. :/
-
I personally am eager to watch the Huskies vs. Huskies game at 3:30pm. I would hope the place will be full for that one but I doubt it with pre-game parties. Some Sioux fans may not trickle in until 6:30pm. I guess I will find out when I get there. Either way, two great games for the price of one is the best deal I've received all year. #8oston

I am waiting to see Moy's final bracket on USCHO.com. He is the most consistently accurate.
-
Providence isn't the host school, Brown is.
-
Not Ann Arbor, South Bend. Too much rooting for Michigan tonight apparently.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they put Omaha vs St Cloud in Fargo and ship Minneaota vs Tech to Ann Arbor. I know the inter inference matchup is something they avoid in round one but the ability to have three teams bus to one site is attractive.
-
With this echo TH sounds like he has omnipotent powers. Well, he does, but...
-
Is NCHC.tv streaming for anyone? I have a black screen.
-
Meanwhile... Duluth 3, Miami 2 after 2 Omaha & St. Clown still scoreless late 2nd
-
Someone intelligent with technical prowess should just edit Zane's saves into one continuous stream tonight. He's in a zone.

Sweeeet Lawd Zane

This game has a feel similar to the Ferris State game last March.
-
The Flurry of McIntyre saves just now is the highlight of this game.

Multiple chances for WMU....time and again, Zano shuts the door
