Damn they raked him over the coals for picking an FBS school over the almighty FU? I hope all recruits who are debating whether or not to go to NDSU reads that, and the whole NDSU is better than the MAC? Didn't Bison fans want to join the MAC after their WAC plans went south? Maybe WMU has programs as attractive or better than NDSU...oh wait academics means nothing to college kids.

NDSU is trying desperately to cover the offseason problems as best they can, by winning championships. That takes the front page while what happened in the offseason takes the back seat...but if they start to lose and offseason crime by players continue, public forgiveness won't be there like it is now.

I hope everyone plans accordingly this weekend as a major storm is about to rear its ugly head starting tonight and lasting until Saturday. Here in Fargo we are under a Freezing Rain Advisory for tonight into tomorrow then it changes into a Winter Storm Watch. There is nothing worse in a winter storm than to have ice covered roads and power lines. I just hope its not April 1997 all over again. That was the worst ice storm I have ever experienced. I was thinking the same thing. I think the mods should just close this thread so we can move on with UND football. The FCS playoffs are over....move on.

Dan Snyder (Redskins owner) said they won't change the name. Cleveland named their team after the first Indian on the team so they won't change it (although they did go on streaks where Chief Wahoo wasn't on the uniform). I can't see the Braves or the Blackhawks changing either. It has to be either the league saying it or it won't change even with the public outcry because these teams despite their Indian nicknames are still selling out their stadiums.

5-2 is very good. But if we can't win at least 5 with home field and (with ranked teams coming in) big crowds no way we reach the playoffs. UND beat Montana, PSU, and SUU at home (SDSoM doesn't count in anything), 3-2 at home while going 1-4 on the road. One win on the road (Sac St). and 2 out of those 4 losses were blowouts. UND needs to take every advantage to be at home and get these kids the confidence to win. If we drop home game after home game...goodnight on the season.

We have 7 home games. If we can't go at least 5-2 at home then pack it in for a long decade (at least). Because it may be a long time before we see 7 home games, and no FBS games in one season.

I would have taken NDSU over someone like Vanderbilt.

I think assault rifles should be banned. No one needs weapons like the military. You can hunt with a rifle, you can protect yourself with a pistol so ban the rest.

You can sure tell Nick Saban was made for college...since he couldn't win anything with the Dolphins. I hope someone, anybody knocks Alabama out next year, and this 4 team playoff is a total joke. 4 BCS teams playing for a title...good luck to the rest of the 100+ FBS teams.

Sam Houston's QB looked like he lobbed the ball instead of a straight throw (something like Taylor Martinez of Nebraska). His receivers (and the NDSU defenders) looked like they were playing right field grabbing a fly ball. NDSU capitalized on SHSU's mistakes and in a title game you have to do that, you can't waste opportunities. NDSU did everything right, and deserved to win the title. Congrats Bison.

Why are UND fans fighting with other UND fans over this? NDSU won the DI FCS Championship, and last I looked UND was in the FCS. If we went to the FBS and beat ND or Alabama and won the FBS championship then you can knock the FCS title as the minor league or little league title. But UND didn't even have a winning record in an FCS conference called the Big Sky. We are not in the Big 10, or Big 12 we are in the Big Sky in the FCS Division of Division I. We are on even ground with NDSU, playing for the same National Title. So if UND gets to the title game are you guys still going to knock the title game because its not the FBS, or the Frozen Four? Just unreal what I am seeing here. I hated to see the Bison win yesterday, even my wife got pissed at me when I was going for SHSU, but in the end you congratulate them on the title, and you look towards knocking them off the next season. You don't rip them for winning a title that you yourself is competing for. So lets knock this !@#$ off and lets discuss UND football (this is the football forum isn't it) and last I checked UND is in the FCS.

People need to stop with the minor league, JV thing. UND is in the same division as NDSU and we were to win it all I would be as happy as Bison fans are now. If UND wins th NIT or the CIT I would be happy because there is no way we win March Madness. So just stop the I-AA, minor league crap. Congrats to NDSU and let's get the next season started!!

So out of the 12 teams in the playoffs I am sure the favorites of the AFC is Denver or New England and in the NFC its Atlanta...so does anyone see a sleeper sneaking into the Super Bowl? Maybe Cincy or Minnesota?

Its a rivalry thing whether they want to admit it or not. UND will never be over NDSU and vice versa because of two things...history and location. UND-1883, NDSU 1890. Location 69 miles from County Rd 20 (Fargo) to 32nd Ave S (Grand Forks). Lots of years of hatred and only an hour drive between the two cities. Sure UND looks for new rivals in Montana State, or even the Gophers, just as NDSU did with SDSU and UNI, but overall the hatred will be there and when or if we reunite in the same conference that hatred will explode like it did prior to 2003.

I never post over there because I know I would be banned in a heartbeat. But it seems like Hambone and Sic are the only UND fans respected. The others get dumped on or called trolls, even when its a Bison fan starting up the numerous UND threads over there. Its not UND friendly over there and that's why the numbers of UND posters are only a handful.
