UND hung with Texas Tech. We gave up 2 TD's late in the 4th. Not bad for a team in its second year in transition against a team that challenged for the national title the year before.

I hear a lot on Mollberg and Bartels, but not much is ever said about Jake Hanson. I work with his cousin so that was how I knew he was still on the team. Could he rival the other two for the starting job?

I was threatened twice by Lakesbison on both AGS and Championshipsubdivision.com. He said he knew where I worked and was going to kick my ass in front of my co-workers, and another time he said he was going to go to my front door and kick my ass in front of my wife and kids. Now if that ain't a nutjob I don't know what is. Most Bison fans I have interacted with online have been harmless they smack my team I smack theirs but no threatening people. Lakes is in another category of internet fans. I know he also threatened a UNI fan as well. It sucks that they couldn't take a joke about the "tin shed" (I don't know why they use it constantly), and your account was hacked. I may have disagreements with Bison fans but in no means would I ever show up and "kick their ass". I think the Bison fans that come on here are decent people they may smack here and there or even annoy people but I don't think they would personally harm a person especially over what is written on the net. So lets have a good time on here, and enjoy the company of all fanbases. As for the game on Saturday I still think its going to be as close as an OT game. It could go either way. I will be going for SHSU, but if NDSU wins...I wouldn't be surprised. They have a start of a dynasty not seen since the 80's.

So we now reward teams for "hanging" with top FBS teams? I guess Bison fans love to find any way to pump up the MVFC.

UNI #7 team in the FCS with only 4 DI wins. I think there are a lot of teams #8 and beyond that would argue that.

Which is crap. So if UND scheduled the top teams in the BCS then had a normal BSC schedule we could go 3-8 and still be #7 in the FCS? That's where his rankings are flawed big time. It should go by record more than who you play. UNI was in the top in the FCS when their only win was over a DII team for most of the season. How messed up is that.

Time to start leaving some conference members in the dust and get into that tournament.

Normally I wouldn't worry about a season with 7 home games, but with 2 Freshman QB's someone better step up as the leader of this team and quick. Valpo gives these guys a chance to get confortable but after that you have South Dakota State and Montana, so they better get the kinks out by Potato Bowl time. I wonder if they will go for another freshman or a Juco QB after Mollberg and Bartels.

Is it top 6 or top 7 that makes the conference tournament?

Who would have thought. With a rookie QB taking a very poor Indy team to the playoffs. They could be a very scary team in the playoffs.

If I was a National Tile winning coach I would think it would bother me to have the media link a national title team to a voting fraud scandal. You think the media is going to be silent about that, especially if the Bison win next Saturday?

I mean UNI had a down year as well as Montana.

Same with NDSU against UNI. It works in all conferences. You play to win whoever you play. And if a team is having a down year you make sure you beat them, gain confidence, and win the next week, well UND played a fresh Montana State team coming off of a bye week and got demolished. UND is nowhere near their caliber. We will still have tough competition next year except we don't play Cal Poly. But we have Montana (non conference) Montana State, EWU and a playoff team in South Dakota State. We will see where the improvement lies in the defense. If we give up more than 10 or 14 points to Valpo this team is in deep trouble.

UND was 3-8 in 2010 even losing to NAIA Sioux Falls, people screamed for Mussman's head did recruits shy away from UND? I don't think so. The Class of 2011 is either true juniors this coming year (2013) or a redshirted sophomore. Yes it takes more than a game or a season to ask for a coach to get canned. Muss is on his 6th season coming up. His record against DI opponents are average at best maybe below average. A GWFC title, a loss to a Sub DI team, and that is a resume that doesn't really scream out "come to UND". Especially with the big giant of the FCS 80 miles to the south.

And that monster year would have to be for the guy throwing him the ball...Mollberg or Bartels?

Has any recruits played since we joined the Big Sky Conference? I am just wondering if the level of talent we have (prior to the 2012 recruits) were done with some roadblocks. Examples: Fighting Sioux nickname (Dale Lennon said he saw recruits choose not to go to UND due to the nickname controversy), conference affiliation (who wants to join a team in the Great West?), and coaching experience (Muss and co have only been together since 08 and how has he done in transition). So with those factors maybe UND lost out on some good players but now with the nickname issue put to rest, conference affiliation at the highest level in the FCS maybe Mussman can get better talent and we will see them in the next few years. The Big Sky recruits either played as a true freshman or were redshirted. Lets see what we do in 2013 with these players and see where we are headed going into 2014. Lets put 2012 as a mulligan and try again.

Its okay they are just bored of making fun of all the offers UND has out there on BVille they feel like they can come here and thump their chests. Remember UND can't ever compete against NDSU in recruits. They get the good ones and UND gets the leftovers. If it looks like UND outrecruits NDSU then its the NCAA cutting scholarship numbers isn't that right Rocky Hager?
