McFeely estimated $250k-$400k.

I wonder if we could do something similar in the near future - an opportunity for big name alumni to serve in an "assistant GM" role where they could help recruit talent and NIL $$. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/44481339/hawks-trae-young-named-asst-gm-oklahoma-men-basketball

Wishing I would've had this sensibility instead of going with my heart and a Maine championship.

You remind me of the dude in that same class who wore a half visor and treated every day like it was his shot to show Hak what he could do and make the team - way too serious for the venue.

As one of a select few people on here with experience being coached by Dane, I figured I should share my two cents. Now…I wasn’t exactly on the UND hockey team, per-se, but I did take the intro to ice hockey class from Hak and Dane would often come help. I clearly recall him telling me to crash the net from the wing looking for a rebound from an opposite side shot and that same week, I did exactly that in my (lowest tier) intramural game and scored. (My only goal of the season) Point being - he made me a better player. More importantly, I have only ever heard good things about him from guys who were actually on or around the team. I hope we get to see a new or mostly new coaching team under him and of course, success on the ice next year. I’m excited to see what he can do.

What a gift for us on the line change by MSU. There would be a lot of angry posts on here if that was us. Go Sioux.

If you're offering odds on that spread, I'll take UND to cover +20 against NDSU this fall or any time.

Yeah, I would've rather seen a path forward for Danny to stay as well. My comment about him coming back was more in jest/wishful thinking. As I see it, after Danny left, they had two options - either start from zero, or keep Bubba on and go out to find talent that can come in as an assistant and be ready to take over when Bubba retires. I like keeping Bubba and building internally to improve and succeed him. I'm really curious how so many people seem to think that the answer is just to ditch Bubba and suddenly we are beating the state schools every year and getting tan in Frisco. He's made some head scratching decisions over the past few seasons that have cost us games, there's no doubt about that, but I just don't think replacing him is going to gain us ground faster than building up under him.
-
I don't see what everyone is so upset about. 1) You all seem to be certain that Bubba is going to keep the program afloat and in playoff contention. Can't say the same for a new hire. 2) Bubba is just keeping the seat warm for Danny to come back in a few years with the SDSU book of secrets and take over as HC. He'll hand Danny a solid program that is primed and ready to take from good to great.

Thanks for catching that! I updated the sheets.

I added onto the detailed current standing you've created with a sheet that will allow you to select the outcome of each remaining NCHC game and see what the final standings will be. You just have to select the outcome of each game in the column highlighted in yellow and the standings at the top left corner will automatically update and sort based on your selections. This was my favorite memory - it was my first game at Mariucci. My friend and it were in the SRO up at the rail in the offensive zone for the goal. We danced around the concourse as the Minny fans filed out. Also, we spent the remainder of our printing budgets for the semester at the business school making about 1000 of these that we put on cars in the parking lot and handed out to fans until security made us throw away the last handful of them. The back side said "Can you please point out which number Kyle Okposo is?" (he had just ditched them early for the NHL) Credit to whoever originally created this on here:

For anyone going to the game, a few recommendations: The Boise Greenbelt is a large walking path that runs along the Boise river basically the whole way across the metro. It goes directly by the stadium - enjoy a nice walk on it. The downtown area is also walkable from the Stadium/campus and it's one of the cleanest, nicest downtowns you'll find. Lots of food and drinking options. If you have extra days, drive up highway 55 or 21 and go into the mountains. McCall and Stanley are each about 3 hours away and both are gorgeous. If you want a short, fun hike closer to the stadium, go to Camel's Back Park. It's a few hundred steps straight up to a great view of Boise.

Carson Wentz taking Philly err Indy err DC by storm

I wasn't familiar with his organization so I looked at them a bit - none of their programs seem to require any religious affiliation to participate and they seem to represent the demographics of the locations they serve. (Almost all the kids they serve in Haiti are black, almost all the kids they serve at their ND camps are white) Yes, some of the programs have Christian programming, but isn't it their right to put out whatever messaging they want? What am I missing that makes this a racist organization that requires a specific religious affiliation? -
Thank you! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. SCSU is the Duke of NCAA hockey - never trust them in the brackets. Congrats to @UNDBIZ and @CLASSY FREDDIE BLASSIE - I'm happy to share the honors! When do we receive our mountains of prizes?

The product hasn’t been great, which is certainly a big part of this picture, but I feel like the concepts I talked about above are well at play here. I don’t care what else was going on last night, this is a truly pathetic turnout for the Gophers. -
Thanks for that. I knew there weren't any 06-08 but I wasn't sure before then. I recall that when it got below zero, the walk across campus was actually nicer than warmer days - your legs would start to go numb and you stopped feeling cold.

I seem to recall a second-hand quote from President Kupchella that if students were willing to risk their lives to go to the bars, they could risk their lives to go to class. Was there ever a snow day during his presidency? (99-08)

In today's world, they know that the e-mail got to you, you opened it, you clicked on it, all of your survey responses, and any other pages on UND's websites that you browsed. Or they don't want you to win the raffle.

Can you imagine if they tried to take someone out of their seat at the Ralph? "We've oversold the UM games...you'll be rebooked for the St. Cloud series."

Let me be clear - I'm not trying to reinstate the previous topic used for discussing Fargo. This is not for discussing crime - just for business topics, like the Grand Forks one. Anecdotally, it seems like Fargo is in a bit of a downturn. When I lived there, (2014-2016) I was worried about what I perceived as over-building in housing (especially in high end homes) and over-expansion of businesses. My feeling had been that the growth in restaurants/retail was being propped up by temporary demand increases due to the over-construction going on in the housing and retail markets. Once housing slowed, my thought had been the construction workforce would drop and demand for hotels/restaurants/retail along with that. I've been seeing a number of articles about places closing and the housing market stagnating. Anyone have anything else that's out there with analysis on all this? I haven't been able to find any concrete housing numbers to look at other than the first article below. What other factors do you think are at play here? Oil? Counterfeit Sioux jerseys and pucks on ebay
Brucesky02 replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Sorry to hear about this. If I was you, I would set up a google alert for anyone selling a Hoogsteen jersey. Shouldn't be too many hits on that. If you're lucky, you'll find a craigslist post for it and be able to track down this motherf...not nice person. I can't speak to what the GFPD does (or wherever you might find the jersey) but many departments nowadays will help you out in confronting the individual and recovering your property. -
Dang. As a student who golfed, it was always nice to be able to run over to RR and play for $10. It did suck that the course was only open for 3 months while school was in session...so maybe it does make sense in that regard. Still hate it, especially for Dustin and Nerby. There isn't exactly a huge amount of other jobs out there in GGF for golf courses, so I hope those guys land on their feet somewhere. They did a heck of a job managing that course on a shoestring budget for years. Looking forward, if they want this property to become connected to campus, they're going to have to do something about accessibility with the railroad. How much would it cost to move the whole rail yard outside of town? No more train shunting crashes in the middle of town, no more wall preventing development south from the main campus, no more kids getting run over...seems like it's all positives to me. Other than delivery to the power plant and that cemstone plant (or whatever it is along demers) what other reasons are there that necessitate a rail yard in the middle of town?? Heck, get rid of the rail yard and then we can have enough space to build a retractable roof football stadium and go FBS, right? ok, too far. But really, why does GF need that mess of trains in the middle of town??
