Anyone know why the UND club team doesn't show in the WCCHA standings or national rankings? Is this a "transitional" year?

New idea - the teams who make the Frozen Four get to host regionals the next year at the arena of their choosing and get a share of the profits. Thoughts?

I had them in my cart, put in my payment info within the 10 minutes allowed, and when I went to process it, the site said I had taken too long! Meanwhile, gobs of seats remain for the other three regionals...

NDSU to move to FBS with an invite from the Sun Belch?
Brucesky02 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in NCAA News
Thank you for picking out my bad example. How excited would NDSU fans be to play them? Making a road trip to Georgia in your fan bus is bound to be just as fun as a road trip to Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Etc. Going to FBS in a conference with regional ties would be one thing. Going FBS in a conference with no familiar foes and no teams remotely close would be a terrible idea for NDSU. -
NDSU to move to FBS with an invite from the Sun Belch?

Going FBS is more than likely a terrible idea for NDSU. Just ask Appalachian state. I'm sure their fans are really loving a 2-5 start and games vs. Campbell, South Alabama, Ga. Southern, and many other exciting teams. Related, see App. State appear as the #3 team on last week's "Bottom 10" on ESPN IMO - A big part of what makes college football great are the conference rivalries developed over years of play. Jumping to FBS within a decade of moving from D-II to FCS would be bad enough; but that move would also be followed by years of poor results, diminished attendance, and eventually, dropping back down to FCS. (or whatever exists at that point in time) Being a top-tier FCS team is that NDSU needs to work on continuing to be. Recruits aren't going to give up on being a backup at a B1G school to start at a bottom-feeder. Recruits that leave bigger programs for NDSU are doing it because they want to win. Eliminate the winning by moving to FBS, the talent will disappear. -

Does anyone know where the Sioux logo copyright stands at this time? I assume it's still owned by UND? If not, any 50 folks with a collective $1,500 could make this happen for those who want to hold onto the Sioux legacy... How about "Sioux Sports" plates? With the minimum of 50 people, it would be $55 ($1500/50=$30, plus the plate fee) for a standard plate and $80 for a personalized one. Shoot...shouldn't have said that. Bisonville will round up 50 folks to make their own plates now. Should only take them a day or two here:

I'm just hoping there's a "curse of the old Engelstad" that nobody knows about, and that once it's gone, we start winning national championships again.

Yeah...the place was a zoo. I only landed my green authentic because someone decided they didn't want it and laid it down next to my fiancee while she shopped. Good thing she grabbed it, it was my size! We got there at 12:10 and walked straight in, but the jerseys were gone by that point and everything else was a mad rush. The line was snaked the whole way around the court of the Betty. We waited in line for about an hour.

I think it is incredibly important that the new conference stays at 8 teams or below. That will allow us to schedule more out of conference games with teams we care about (MN, UW, BC, Boston, etc.) Maybe that can help clean up some of the inflated ratings and opinions of east vs. west teams that have happened over the past few years. Plus, fewer teams means a higher chance at an auto-bid, less sharing of revenues and a higher chance of making the conference tournament. ALSO: What is the official stance of the new conference on the Sioux nickname? SIDEBAR: Will Derek Shepherd be joining the officiating staff? Or will the "we want Shepherd" chant be lost in history?

When can we start exhibitions against them?

According to Brian Faison, (I heard it from his mouth) Eidsness is graduating a year early, but will be back next year and in grad school.

And here I thought you were going to have information about Dave taking a gamble and changing the lines for tonight...

I happened to be near Brian Faison at the open practice today. He mentioned how highly he thinks of Trev Alberts. Hm. I suppose his only real interaction with UNO has been WCHA hockey...so perhaps I can cut him some slack.

Just saw this on Craigslist: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/tix/2306047533.html I'm not saying it's a good idea to meet a guy on Craigslist - but it is a cheap way in to the Frozen Four... I know a few posters on here who could probably get by with a little makeup, a few Kleenex and a wig. Just an idea.

10) Watch all 56 episodes of Brad Miller Time 9) Wash/Dry Clean your jersey (unless non-washing is part of your ritual) 8) Commit the Sioux Shop inventory to memory 7) Dig up the first trolling post ever on SiouxSports 6) Commit the name & number of each player in the tournament to memory. Nobody likes an ill-informed heckler. 5) Check your tire pressures to ensure optimal fuel mileage on the drive to St. Paul 4) Taunt NDSU fans about _________ (really
