  1. It looks like they matched the stripes on the pants and the numbers on the whites with the helmet... I don't see why they would get jerseys that don't match the pant stripe too. They certainly look like they match in the original picture, which at this point is the only picture that I've seen that includes both the helmets and both jerseys:
  2. But he did it on a team that went 44-11-5 vs Nick's team that was 30-24-6.
  3. what will be the excuse when there is low turnout for the next one?
  4. Quiznos has been closing stores all over the country over the past 8+ years, so I wouldn't look too much into this. Here in Colorado, their empty stores are quickly grabbed up by other small fast food restaurants. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of those same companies that don't really want to expand into ND.
  5. Matte black helmet, green jersey and black pants. Make it happen!
  6. The Ralph just recruited him for us. Really Berry didn't have to do a thing, all it takes is the history and facilities I've been told.
  7. In 1997. And Red retiring changes that how?
  8. \ I'm just getting mixed up over which one of the random predictions you've made in here over the past day will come true. Is it Iowa going D1 or Michigan State and Michigan? Or Arizona State? I guess if you throw enough stuff at the wall, something will stick.
  9. Doing a quick google search, the Michigan women's hockey team plays their home games at Yost. How is that a different atmosphere? Outside of the school charging the club team to use the ice, as is standard for any club team that isn't a varsity sport. The article you posted says it's not impossible to have both men and women at Yost (as evidenced by the women's club team playing at Yost) but it's preferred to have two arenas. I'm sure it's preferred everywhere.
  10. But with you saying Then why would Michigan State wait for Red Berenson to retire (which I still don't get why that matters for Michigan Women's hockey other than you implying Red has so much pull in the UM athletic department that he can tell them a women's team can't play in the same arena... which just screams Title 9 issues). The Big 10 would already have MN, Wisco, Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State in your prophecy but apparently MSU is going to wait until Michigan can play too?
  11. As will offensive defenseman. UND could throw out one forward and two D and be just as offensive minded as some teams throwing out two forwards.
  12. I believe he was saying gross to the misspelling of the bolded statement below:
  13. Why haven't they announced a women's team in the four years they've held the clinic? The same clinic that touts itself as: They even teach you how to tape your stick! Sounds like they're going after some pretty big players in high school girls hockey. And at the risk of repeating myself:
  14. please enlighten us as to why Michigan State will suddenly decide to throw cash at the money pit that is women's hockey just because Michigan's men's coach retires.
  15. Why is joining the WWCHA a bad thing? I get that ASU doesn't want to just be associated with UND, Bemidji, MSU, St Cloud State, UMD but if ASU and Iowa both add D1 women's hockey it makes more sense that they join what would become a 10-team WCHA. I get why they did it on the men's side but there was no talk about MN, Wisco, Michigan, Michigan St and Ohio State creating a Big 10 hockey conference with one part-time member. It didn't happen until Penn State joined... a full-time B10 member. Until another B10 team adds women's hockey, they won't create a WBTHC.
  16. In your scenario, the Big Ten would only have 5 all-B10 teams. They wouldn't create a conference knowing they'll potentially lose their autobid if Arizona State decides to jump ship. It's a different case in men's where they have 6 teams that are forced to be in the BTHC. Why would Iowa hire a guy who has no experience in hockey to start a hockey program? Working at a school 70 miles from a powerhouse hockey program does not make someone an experienced hockey guy.
  17. UNO was sending it's scoreboard feed. With their new arena they may be doing their own broadcast this year however even in a town the size of Omaha, quality crew members can get stretched thin with an in-house video board, an online stream, and creighton events. Will be interesting to see if things improve. Miami needs to teach their director to not switch to the tight cam in the middle of action during a scramble around the net. Too jarring and makes it impossible to edit for highlights. They have replay, so just stay wide until the play is over, then let's see the tight cam and a corner or overhead while they setup for the faceoff. WMU and CC just don't know how to do a production at all. They can't white balance their cameras so they match, whomever is shooting tight clearly hasn't been doing it long as they tend to be just slightly zoomed in vs a wide cam. The directors don't understand when to switch cameras as they do it randomly throughout the game. When it takes a viewer a little more than a second to figure out what they're watching on a camera change, we don't need a slightly zoomed in version of the same shot as a guy skates across center ice.
  18. I meant lesser as in no significant broadcast packages, although a couple of those schools also tend to be lower in the standings The schools that get ASN on some channel are CC, DU, WMU, SCSU, Miami, UNO. My guess is we'll see a lot more of everyone but DU and SCSU at home.
  19. No, it looks like they're just a production house with individual agreements with channels throughout the country.
  20. The NCHC signed a two-year agreement with the American Sports Network for air 18 games over the next two games. It won't affect the CBS deal or anything with Midco. Some games on ASN are carried by Altitude Sports in the Colorado region. Altitude is also carried by DirecTV and Dish. Some of the games are also carried in Kalamazoo and Oxford. It's an opportunity for lesser NCHC schools to be on regional networks (which can be carried nationally). I wouldn't be surprised to see UND on a couple of these games. Midco could potentially pick up the broadcasts as well from ASN for communities in NoDak/MN/SD.
  21. They only banned opposing team jerseys in the suites and club level. The rest of the arena was open to any fan that could buy a ticket.
  22. Or the NCAA could approach it from the grounds that UND didn't do everything it could to replace the Fighting Sioux name by staying North Dakota.
  23. theyre also oozing in money from 90% season ticket rate and an on campus arena where they get all the profits.
  24. How is it bad for the league if UNO sells out their stadium to UNO fans? That's the only reason the tickets are so hard to get.
  25. Jim, I appreciate all the updates!
