  1. Start of the 5th set. UND won sets one and two 25-23 and 25-20. Dayton has won the last two 25-15 and 25-22.
  2. I'm curious if UND will see any spike in fundraising due to the voting details. Keikla has been a UND fan her entire life, posts on this board but was smart enough to earn a scholarship to a D2 school for swimming because they needed to raise their team GPA. She texted this morning saying she has a certain number of days to donate to UND so she can have a vote in the process. I could see that working out really well for UND.
  3. For me...switch North Stars and Fighting Hawks but the rest are the same. I still struggle with UND taking the motto of the state next to them.
  4. I'm curious how many anti nicknamers will vote Sundogs just because they are throwing a fit.
  5. This is incorrect. The MWC allows each school to set their own broadcast schedule and contracts. That's why Air Force has all of their games on the ESPN Network (except their 1st game which is on Root). Boise has a handful of games on ESPN but a majority of their conference games are on CBSSN. The one thing the conference is pushing hard is their streaming service with Campus Insiders. They just went through a big change from Volar to CI for their streaming services. While it is a downgrade (Volar went out of business) they are still pushing any non-televised events to the web. This is on Wyoming and their inability to put the game on the web. I'm surprised they don't just take their in-house video feed, mix it with radio and use that, since they have to provide video for official replay purposes.
  6. I never said I didn't think UND could raise the money, so I don't know where you got that I thought that. You're sure speaking as if UND not having FCOA is a done deal and we're wallowing in defeat. Give it some freaking time. As you stated, you don't care what other schools do on this... then your original rant must have been a bit of bad timing as it happened to randomly coincide with an announcement from another school. Your point of not caring would have been a lot more believable if you didn't constantly compare UND to NDSU.
  7. All great stuff for NDSU but let's give Faison some time to make sure the money is there. The reason Faison came out saying hockey will be definitely receiving FCOA is because the schools UND competes against in that sport have said they would as well. As of 24 hours ago, only one school in FCS has said they would do FCOA across the board. I get that people love to bash Faison but he's also responsible for getting us into the best hockey conference in the country, a member in nearly all sports in the big sky, building an amazing IPF, and bringing in top quality coaches after making the tough decision to let a certain number of underperforming coaches go.
  8. We are fortunate that one of our best defensemen played forward nearly all of last year. Makes it easy to roll him out with another offensive Dman and a forward and not lose a step.
  9. Here are essentially four pictures of the jerseys put together... as you can see, lighting plays a huge difference in how each one looks and if they match the helmets.
  10. No it will not
  11. It looks like they matched the stripes on the pants and the numbers on the whites with the helmet... I don't see why they would get jerseys that don't match the pant stripe too. They certainly look like they match in the original picture, which at this point is the only picture that I've seen that includes both the helmets and both jerseys:
  12. But he did it on a team that went 44-11-5 vs Nick's team that was 30-24-6.
  13. what will be the excuse when there is low turnout for the next one?
  14. Quiznos has been closing stores all over the country over the past 8+ years, so I wouldn't look too much into this. Here in Colorado, their empty stores are quickly grabbed up by other small fast food restaurants. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of those same companies that don't really want to expand into ND.
  15. Matte black helmet, green jersey and black pants. Make it happen!
  16. The Ralph just recruited him for us. Really Berry didn't have to do a thing, all it takes is the history and facilities I've been told.
  17. In 1997. And Red retiring changes that how?
  18. \ I'm just getting mixed up over which one of the random predictions you've made in here over the past day will come true. Is it Iowa going D1 or Michigan State and Michigan? Or Arizona State? I guess if you throw enough stuff at the wall, something will stick.
  19. Doing a quick google search, the Michigan women's hockey team plays their home games at Yost. How is that a different atmosphere? Outside of the school charging the club team to use the ice, as is standard for any club team that isn't a varsity sport. The article you posted says it's not impossible to have both men and women at Yost (as evidenced by the women's club team playing at Yost) but it's preferred to have two arenas. I'm sure it's preferred everywhere.
  20. But with you saying Then why would Michigan State wait for Red Berenson to retire (which I still don't get why that matters for Michigan Women's hockey other than you implying Red has so much pull in the UM athletic department that he can tell them a women's team can't play in the same arena... which just screams Title 9 issues). The Big 10 would already have MN, Wisco, Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State in your prophecy but apparently MSU is going to wait until Michigan can play too?
  21. As will offensive defenseman. UND could throw out one forward and two D and be just as offensive minded as some teams throwing out two forwards.
  22. I believe he was saying gross to the misspelling of the bolded statement below:
  23. Why haven't they announced a women's team in the four years they've held the clinic? The same clinic that touts itself as: They even teach you how to tape your stick! Sounds like they're going after some pretty big players in high school girls hockey. And at the risk of repeating myself:
  24. please enlighten us as to why Michigan State will suddenly decide to throw cash at the money pit that is women's hockey just because Michigan's men's coach retires.
  25. Why is joining the WWCHA a bad thing? I get that ASU doesn't want to just be associated with UND, Bemidji, MSU, St Cloud State, UMD but if ASU and Iowa both add D1 women's hockey it makes more sense that they join what would become a 10-team WCHA. I get why they did it on the men's side but there was no talk about MN, Wisco, Michigan, Michigan St and Ohio State creating a Big 10 hockey conference with one part-time member. It didn't happen until Penn State joined... a full-time B10 member. Until another B10 team adds women's hockey, they won't create a WBTHC.
