i've said it before, i'll say it again. putting these broadcasts together takes A LOT of work by A LOT of people. there are things more important that watching a sioux football game. i'm not happy it's not being aired, but i also am realistic about people wanting to spend time with their families instead of working their asses off.

i'm saying there are a lot of things that need to happen in order to make the "vacation" possible. you need a decent amount of people who know what they're doing to put together a broadcast, especially on the road. it's not a "grab stuff and go" type thing. there is a lot of planning that goes into putting the games together. it's not as simple as just hooking up a couple mics and a camera.

nobody expects a perfect continuous schedule in tv. but you can't honestly expect people to be willing to drop any and all plans to be with family so you can watch a playoff football game. i'm all for getting to see as many games on tv as possible, but there are also more important things. a person's career is not their life. most of those who work in the business understand that at times they will have to go out of their way, but there are exceptions. this weekend, i'm willing to give them a pass.

i agree. i mean it's not like it's a lot of work to setup advertising for a 3 hour broadcast. that easily could be done in two days, especially when one of them is a holiday. then of course, having a crew of 20 people be on alert in case they have to drive to omaha to put on the show. wdaz seriously needs to get their act together.

wdaz is the only station that employs a full time staff in grand forks. a majority of those who run fssn are wdaz employees and are easily able to make it all the games. while some people who work for stations in fargo do drive up and work during the games, most of them actually work for the ralph and not for fssn. while it may be a good idea in theory to have a better station run fssn, i don't think people realize the amount of work that goes into airing these games. it's not an easy production and takes a decent amount of planning.

there is still the possibility of a station in nebraska deciding to air the game and then having the fssn pick it up. however, that is very unlikely.

kvly/kx4 won't be airing the game either. it takes more than just a couple days to throw a crew together to do a game, especially when it's in omaha. it doesn't help that it's a holiday weekend and a majority of the main production guys are going to be on vacation.

the team should probably be headed in the direction of the nearest cliff. this is possibly the worst sweep in sioux history. i doubt we'll win more than two games the rest of the year. just look at what all is wrong with the team: all three of our coaches are canadians, which means we'll never get any more us born players. shuning steve johnson means all players in the ushl automatically hate UND. we have two goalies who don't know how to play at all. luckily, our 3rd stringer walski is the second coming. our "captain" chris porter is the worst offensive player on the team. he couldn't score even if briggs was in net. joe finley is just a giant goon. he'll never learn how to pass or play defense. he should be cut. the atmosphere in the ralph sucks, which means we won't have home-ice advantage ever again. the students just swear all day, which hurts the players ears, so they can't concentrate. the ncaa will make UND forfeit all of their games because of the nickname. (there go the 2 wins) am i missing anything?

what happens if walski comes back tonight and maybe puts up a shutout? a 3-goalie rotation?

so kind of a wierd question... but my verizon phone broke tonight. i need a temporary new one. what are the odds that someone on here who lives in fargo has an old verizon phone and charger they don't use anymore that i could have?

i, and i'm sure many here, feel that even without the name, unfortunately these things will still continue. i don't think it's a nickname problem, but a society problem. it's unfortunate that racism exists, but i don't think it has to do with the Fighting Sioux nickname, as it does with attitudes in this area.

that has nothing to do with his play and everything to do with salary cap reasons. he will stay up at least until afinoghenov (sp?) returns. even then, he could still stay with the big club as they also demoted another player when drew got called up.

i generally browse siouxsports from two different computers, but am always logged in. i've noticed lately that when i click to view the newest posts, it will still take me 3-4 posts back. is that because of my cookies being different on each computer or what? it's not a horrible problem to have, i have just noticed it happening a lot more recently. thanks for any help
