USCHO has some details about the "Friday Night at the Frozen Four" event: USCHO: Friday Night at the Frozen Four Here's a list of college hockey legends who will be attending:

A friend of mine emailed somebody at the XCEL Center with some quesitons, including which end the Sioux will be shooting at twice. Here was the response:

For those of you who can't get to the Star Tribune article, I found this reprint on another paper's site: Sacramento Bee - Frattin Article

Most recent matchup between these two teams, so it's bound to be most fresh in my memory. Funny story, there was a kid all dressed up in Bulldog gear sitting right in front of me that night, and he didn't quite care for me cheering for the Sioux. By the end of the night I swear he had switched his allegiance to UND. He was turning around and giving me knuckles whenever the Sioux scored.

I just remember going to check out that fancy new rink, but feeling like I didn't quite get my money's worth as I didn't get to hear what the goal horn sounds like. I'm sure it's pretty cool!

Only listed on hockeysfuture.com as one of the top 10 undrafted college players. I guess his stock isn't as bad as you suggest: Hockey's Future Link

The back of the tickets say that everyone 2 years of age and older must have a ticket. It also says that entry will be at the venue's discretion, unless proof of age is provided. If the child looks younger than 2, I'd probably take my chances. If you carry him/her in, I doubt anybody would question it.

He went out of his way to interact with my 2 kids at the Fan Fest this year also.

Wish I wouldn't have used up my +1 for the day already!

Reaching 70 points in a season, which hasn't happened since 2003 (Senja, who also won the Hobey), is a pretty strong argument for Miele. Hoping Matt wins, but if even before this inside information, I felt it was Miele's to lose. I'm sure Matt would be fine with the "consolation prize" of a national title on Saturday!

It says "No Re-Entry" on the tickets, and in the letter that was included. I know that between the Thursday games at Final Five, there was no re-entry also, but I had some friends who went through the smoking exit between games and got their tickets scanned for re-admittance. Not sure if it will work the same way for the Frozen Four, and not sure I'd try it myself.

I'll be there with my family in Club level. I needed 5 tickets to accommodate me, my wife and 3 kids, and didn't know how that was going to work out. We had put in for two groups of four in the lottery, and when we got our tickets, they were actually located in the same section with one group directly behind the others. I guess it's just meant to be this year! Other good Sioux fans will be sitting in my extra seats.

Kind of a dbag move to tweet about it at any time. This is the same guy that was tweeting before the regionals about how his team was gonna win 4 in a row. That didn't work out too well for him. I think Cam kind of likes himself a bit!

Panzer was robbed!

Couldn't disagree more.

N No alcohol as it is an NCAA event.

Wow, does this bring back memories!

WMU kept Denver off the scoreboard for 56 minutes. Bold prediction here, but I think we'll keep them off the scoreboard for 60. 4-0 Sioux! Frattin gets a goal for the 10th straight game to secure the Hobey. Genoway, Hextall, & Rodwell score too. St. Paul here we come!
-
Rodwell.

... therefore it should not be a goal!

I'm picking UNH to come out of Manchester as a #4 seed, and Union to come out of Bridgeport. No other upsets, which means we get our standard Frozen Four semifinal matchup with BC.

Was in St. Louis tonight on business and took in the Blues-Oilers game. Oshie was the first star and Porter was the second star in a 4-0 win. Also, Vande played for the Oilers. And yes, it would have worked out very well for me if the Sioux would have been placed in the West Regional this weekend!

UND and the Changing Landscape of College Hockey
fargosioux replied to nodakvindy's topic in Men's Hockey
If UND makes the title game, are you still going to claim that the Force are a better team than UND? -
Stay out of the box! I posted this earlier a few weeks ago, but the Sioux have averaged over 25 penalty minutes per game in each of our 8 losses this season. In the games that were wins or ties, that average is 12 penalty minutes per game. If we can play disciplined enough to keep that number down around 10-12 or lower the next 4 games, I believe we hang #8! This could be difficult considering the non-conference refs we'll see the rest of the way. (Why do I have a feeling we'll be seeing Shegos in at least a couple games?)
