  1. O'Donnell - first of many goals this season!

I lost a lot of respect for this new league today.
  3. You have O'Donnell as a healthy scratch?
  4. I agree with Grimaldi centering the third line to start the season. I have a feeling we might see O'Donnell on the top line to start the season. Keep the #2 line alone. Don't mess with a good thing. Then Rodwell and maybe St. Clair on the third line with Rocco. Gaarder, Pattyn, & pick a freshie to round out the fourth line.
  5. I have a different perspective on the UND Hockey vs. NDSU Football debate. When NDSU was preparing for the national semifinal game on their home field last season, which many would argue was the biggest home game ever played in their history, I was able to pick up a couple great sideline tickets online. As I didn't have a huge desire to go to the game, I thought I'd see if I could make a few bucks off the tickets. The best offer I got was $80/ticket. I know people who have gotten more than that for a regular season UND hockey game vs. Denver or Duluth. I also know people who have gotten $200/ticket for a regular season game vs. the Gophers.
  6. I think Brad Berry is the real x-factor!
  7. Bjugstad announced that he's returning to Minnesota: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/071212aaa.html
  8. Relatively speaking, the attendance was good. But I still think the attendance was surprisingly low. Attandance was actually higher for the regional title game in Denver between the same teams in 2007. Still scratching my head about that.
  9. Here's a pretty good perspective on this debate written by former UAA Seawolves player Justin Bourne: http://blogs.thescore.com/nhl/2012/05/11/my-experience-with-the-choice-between-major-junior-and-college-hockey/
  10. In the press conference, Richards stated that his staff will be reviewed over the next 1-2 weeks.
  11. Not sure how this affect's Brad Berry's position in Columbus, but Todd Richards will remain as head coach, getting the "interim" removed from his title: http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=631625&navid=DL|CBJ|home
  12. Wouldn't surprise me to see him go to Omaha, work under Blais for a year or two, and get ready to take that program over when he retires.
  13. I'll have to disagree. I've been saying since the beginning of this past season. I think MacWilliam has Captain written all over him.
  14. It would be interesting to know what the "conditional" part of the trade is. Could it be that Everett found out he wasn't coming there, and made a trade with Portland to give them a chance to sign him, but the trade is coningent on them actually signing him? I don't know enough about how these conditional trades work. Does anybody know if this is a possibility?
  15. Toews with the game winner in OT to send the series back to Chicago for game 6.
  16. I could see the WCHA holding their tournament in Green Bay.
  17. I'd like to see the National go to the Target Center in years that the Big Ten is at the X, and go head-to-head with them. I think the Twin Cities just makes the most sense from an attendance standpoint.
  18. Looks like the Big 10 conference tournament is going to rotate between the XCEL Center and Joe Louis Arena from 2014-17: http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/041912aaa.html
  19. He could still go back to Omaha in 3 or 4 years, after he got head coaching experience somewhere else. I see Pearson doing the same thing with Michigan when Red ever decides to retire.
  20. Wilcox and Gothberg are both similar-caliber goalies. They are both NHL draft picks, and are among the top goalies in the USHL. I think both Minnesota and UND will be fine in goal next season. Not sure what Minnesota has for depth, since we didn't hardly get to see their backup this season.
  21. Didn't see this posted anywhere else. Jack Connolly of the UMD Bulldogs won the Hobey Baker award, giving Duluth their 5th Hobey winner.
  22. I believe they have to officially declare that they are leaving school before they can become a free agent under that rule.
  23. They have a pretty nice downloadable app for Android & iPhone too.
  24. Maybe it's just the picture, but it doesn't look Kelly Green. Looks more like the Michigan State color.
  25. Can't wait to see them in color myself. Already, I like these way better than the women's jerseys.
