  1. Is this from USCHO? I didn't see that Moy made his picks for this week yet.
  2. I thought I had a better handle on this rule, but apparently not. So if he comes back for his senior year, does he automatically become a free agent, or does Montreal still hold his rights until shortly after he graduates?
  3. My bad. I thought Kristo came to UND right after his draft year.
  4. Big A HG did a good job of summarizing the rule earlier in this thread: Kristo's 4 years of having his rights held by Montreal wouldn't expire until after his senior year.
  5. Kristo can't use that rule since he came right from high school. His rights will be held by Montreal until after he graduates.
  6. For those with Directv, it looks like this game will be replayed on channel 623 at 6 pm today. At least that's what the guide is showing.
  7. Then we go to Worcester to take out BU & BC to win the Beanpot like we did in 2005.
  8. I don't remember BC winning back-to-back titles.
  9. My bad, not sure what I was thinking. Maybe last year felt like they lost in the title game.
  10. He actually has 2 championship game appearances. Took them to the title game against Denver in his first year.
  11. Take it for what it's worth, but this guy on HFBoards is claiming that Seth Jones is leaning towards UND: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=662734&page=5
  12. Totally agree. But if that happens you'll still have some people here resurrecting the "Fire Hak" discussion.
  13. Friday - Parks Saturday - Blood
  14. Gregoire played one year of juniors, so his rights were retained by the Islanders only through the end of his Junior year. Since Kristo came to UND right after High School, Montreal will hold his rights until June 1, 2013, which is 4 years after his draft year.
  15. Does anybody know the song they played in the Senior tribute video?
  16. Moy has this week's Bracketology completed: http://www.uscho.com/bracketology/ St. Paul 16 Air Force vs. 1 Minnesota-Duluth 11 Michigan State vs. 7 Minnesota Green Bay 14 North Dakota vs. 3 Michigan 10 Maine vs. 8 Miami Bridgeport 15 Merrimack vs. 4 Ferris State 12 Northern Michigan vs. 5 Boston University Worcester 13 Denver vs. 2 Boston College 9 Union vs. 6 Massachusetts-Lowell
  17. Here's the link from the Forum: http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/352296/
  18. Apparently the MSUM president sent out an email to students prior to a press conference later today, indicating that they would not be moving forward with D1 hockey at MSU-Moorhead.
  19. Minnesota will play the night game on Friday. I don't think anybody would argue that. If they are the #1 seed and the 3/6 game is played on Thursday afternoon, that would force the winner of the 4/5 game to turn around and play Friday afternoon after a Thursday night game. In this situation, wouldn't they flip those Thursday games? EDIT: Scratch that thought. The 4/5 winner would play the #1 seed, so they'd play Minnesota at night in this scenario.
  20. I think this week's Bracketology will have UND going to Worcester to play BC in the first round. True bracket integrity would have Merrimack vs. BC, which can't happen in the first round. I don't see them swapping Air Force & Merrimack since that's not fair to the #1 seed overall (Duluth). Here's my attempt for this week: St. Paul 1 Minnesota-Duluth vs. 16 Air Force 7 Minnesota vs. 9 Union Green Bay 3 Michigan vs. 15 Merrimack 6 Mass-Lowell vs. 11 Michigan St. Bridgeport 4 Ferris St. vs. 13 Denver 5 Boston U vs. 12 Northern Michigan Worcester 2 Boston College vs. 14 North Dakota 8 Miami vs. 10 Maine The Bridgeport attendance would be brutal. You could swap Union & Northern Michigan. Will be interesting to see what Moy comes out with later this week.

  22. Read Jim's blog: http://blog.siouxsports.com/2012/02/23/sioux-pioneers-match-up-has-playoff-implications-for-both/ His analysis had us with the best odds of being at 14 with a split this weekend, which is right where we are. The analysis also shows that 2 more wins has us likely in the 12-13 range.
  23. Nelson grabs the puck for Kristo.
  24. The Sioux have had a few Juniors wear the C.
  25. You'd think it would make sense to at least suit him up as an emergency backup at least. Assuming Dickin is out tonight, another injury and a game misconduct and they could be in a situation where they'd need him. What happens if this team suffers more injuries? Do you just play short-handed? Do you fill a roster spot with a walk-on from campus somewhere? I'm assuming bringing in a recruit early at this point in the season is not an option.
