Nice! I just bought my 1st game-worn jersey. A black Nike Swift Brad Miller jersey from the 08/09 season. Now, I have to think of a way to explain that purchase to my wife.

1. The polls mean nothing. They aren't based on logic, so trying to find a logical explanation for them is impossible. 2. UND, despite having injuries to all of our senior leaders, still is unbeaten in OOC play. I'll take that any day, especially when those games were against a resurgent Merrimack team, a strong OSU, and #1 Miami. We'll see if they can keep it up against Niagara, Notre Dame/Colgate, and Cornell. I agree though, the Cornell series will be huge for PWR implications. Hopefully the Sioux can do well there...maybe Genoway will be back...

Ah, Jim, and ruin all the fun? Hockey threads can only get better when they turn into political arguments. ;)
-
I don't think he learned anything...he took 5 penalties I believe in the UND/UW series.
-
I don't think LGM or RWD count, so I wouldn't worry about it.
-
I would let them both play 30 minutes. Both of them will get a 2 week break after this game anyway.
-
Not sure where else to put this, so in the Xmas thread it goes. Article in the Herald that visited the REA this past weekend, his 124th hockey rink: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/arti...ublisher_ID/40/ Some more details from the Sioux blog:

I would bet USA wins by 2 or more goals. I'm guessing Hakstol will be more than willing to rest quite a few dinged up players and give others a chance to dress/play. That could mean that VV sits in addition to Genoway/Zajac. And then with Kristo now being on the other team... The last time we played the US WJC team (when the tourney was at the Ralph), UND lost 3-0: http://www.uscho.com/box/?date=20041219&am...nd&gender=m Drew Stafford got 2 assists against his own team.
-
They mentioned on the Sat Badger game that Kristo already knew for sure that he was on the team (not that we wouldn't have already assumed that). So they must know the roster (or at least the majority of it), but I haven't seen anything posted since they released the preliminary roster.

Good thing our next real game isn't until next year then.

I'll climb on board that wagon as well. Sweeping DU at REA would be huge.

Short term: Genoway back and healthy VandeVelde back to 100% Speedy recovery for Zajac Keep the stellar OOC record up by doing well @ the ND Tourney and Cornell Consistent goaltending Long term: Finish top 3 in WCHA (possible?) Make the Final Five Win the Broadmoor Win the Regional Win the National Title There, was that so hard? Anything to add? If the old line is that it is best to finish top 3 in the league in order to have the best shot to not only make the Final Five, but to avoid the play-in game...who that is currently in the top 5 ahead of us will have to falter? DU and UW appear to be for real. UMD has probably some of the best offensive talent in the league. I haven't seen CC, so nothing to comment on. SCSU has good offensive depth, but probably lacks the talent level overall when compared to DU/UW/UMD/UND. There are only 6 points separating us from 1st place DU right now, so anything is possible. It all starts in Jan with home series against MSUM and DU, and a road series against UMN. The team can't be giving points away any longer...

What now?? Losing another senior captain for a month is not what this team needs. When did Hakstol say this, I didn't hear it during the broadcast.
-
You know who else hasn't done crap lately? That Genoway kid, seriously...does he even have a point in the last 9 games?? He's supposed to be an offensive leader from the blueline on this team, and he's laying an egg. ;)
-
Even the 1st period? Hopefully the typical Hakstol team means that we'll see another 2nd half surge again. Marvin seriously cost this team 3-4 games with his hit...
-
Step away from the ledge.
-
Hextall just for fun. 4-3 UW with 15sec left.
-
I'm pretty sure that UND's issues the last few weekends have nothing to do with the flu.
-
Genoway had H1N1 in Oct. The effects of that on the team should be over.
-
To be fair, the game was over with Blood's 4min penalty in the 2nd.
-
3 goals on 16 shots. 3 goals on 10 shots yesterday. Not good either way.
-
Well this game just went down the crapper pretty quick.

Other scores: UMN 3, MTU 1 UMD 3, DU 1 MSUM 2, BSU 1 CC 2, SCSU 0
