  1. He'll probably do really well there. I would imagine he'll be one of their best forwards...
  2. That's just a given.
  3. It sounds like Jost and Fabbro are pretty committed to returning to Penticton this fall. Do I remember correctly that they were already confirmed as captains? I might just be imagining that. Either way, it sounds like they are 16/17 recruits if they go the NCAA route.
  4. Completely agree.
  5. Former Tech goalie Pheonix Copley was involved in the trade as well.
  6. That's too bad. He came in with the expectation of potentially a top 6 scoring role with his credentials, but it just never panned out. He played very well in the last few games of the season when he was put into the lineup. Wish him the best.
  7. Someone earlier was wondering what number Tomek will be at UND: http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/pro-sports/3773597-nhl-draft-incoming-freshman-expected-be-picked-draft
  8. Pierre-Paul Lamoureux has the job wrapped up, right? He was GOBC approved and everything.
  9. I wonder if Fabbro and Jost are going to make it a package deal?
  10. I'm actually not too worried. Tomek is a very highly regarded recruit and Johnson is more than capable if splitting starting duties. Many teams have success using freshman goalies. Many teams have won titles with freshman goalies. We'll be fine.
  11. No doubt. I seem to recall the Frattin/Trupp/Malone senior year having a pretty decent PP, but they were pretty good in all facets of the game that year. But that was a long time ago now. Hopefully Shaw can bring in some new energy and a different look for the PP. We certainly have the players that can set it up (NSchmaltz) and hopefully bang it home (Boeser/Cags/LJ).
  12. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/3763786-und-mens-hockey-matt-shaw-applies-assistant-position I like the sounds of that.
  13. Not that this is any big surprise...but Matthews has officially ruled out going NCAA for next season. Now just down to WHL or Europe: http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=40119
  14. If you made $500k a year, lived in Grand Forks, and had a family...would you live in the trailer park across from Valley Dairy?
  15. I didn't realize he had three sons. Not sure which one we played hockey with then...he would have been like mid-teens when the WJC was going on.
  16. He has a son, but he's not much of a hockey player. We played pond hockey with him at University Park during the WJC tourney when it was in GF. I think he's a very good baseball player though.
  17. Schloss seems to think it will be Shaw as well: http://undhockey.areavoices.com/?p=100569
  18. That makes sense.
  19. I thought gfhockey said that Pierre Paul Lamoureux was going to get this job? How many of the requirements does he meet?
  20. Beat me to it. My thoughts exactly.
  21. Much like the Brad Berry hire when Hakstol replaced Eades with Berry, this job posting looks like it was written specifically for someone that the coaching staff has in mind.
  22. Since when does a USHL title count as a natty? Maybe he has some midget and peewee titles from his youth as well that we could add to that total!
