  1. Maybe he can apply for a medical redshirt and become the first 1st round player to come back for a 5th season. Speedy recovery Joe.
  2. You can add Matt White to the list of Sioux recruits: http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/?blog=37509 Since he is only a junior, that would put him at least 2 or 3 seasons away from attending UND.
  3. Great news about it being on the Sioux webcast!
  4. Go Sioux. It's about time to get that 1st sweep of the season and inch our way closer to .500. Hopefully we can get both Finley and Trupp back sooner rather than later...
  5. We do. Both Kristo and Cichy would be considered Blue Chippahs in my opinion. Gleason, MacWilliam, and Mattson aren't so bad either.
  6. Ok, if you say so. Neat. I would hope so. But you don't have to get all defensive here. Your team just came out of the weekend with three points, you should be happy. All I said is that after watching the last 4 Sioux games, that UMD and UAA play a similar style...which is just my opinion. They both clog the passing lanes, don't give up much space to the opposition while in the defensive zone (and on the PK), block a ton of shots, and in general play sound defensive hockey. I apologize if you don't agree with my opinion...you're entitled to yours.
  7. I didn't make an excuse for him at all. I said that he has performed better than what we could have expected him to in the pre-season as a freshman. How is that an excuse if he has exceeded expectations (for me, at least)? You can throw out all the goalie stats you like, but the fact of the matter is that we aren't going to beat many teams when we only score 3 goals in a series against the (former) 9th place WCHA team. At least we can look on the bright side...after 10 WCHA games played, we are only 4 points behind 2nd place.
  8. How so? They looked very similar to me after watching the last four Sioux games.
  9. Goaltending has nothing to do with it. Eidsness has played great. Definitely better than we could have expected coming from a freshman goalie thrown into the fire of WCHA games. The trouble this year has been our inability to score (Duncan, VV, Kozek, Trupp, etc) and defensive mistakes at key times. Correct those issues...and then we would be fine. You can't win many games only scoring 1 or 2 goals...
  10. Cornell is another team like UAA and UMD, big and defensive (with a better goalie). The Sioux have shown in the last four games that they have trouble with that type of team. I guess we should be hoping for a split. Although really we absolutely need a sweep for the PWR (if we are even interested in making the NCAA...although with a sub-.500 record, that won't be possible).
  11. And CC couldn't even beat UAA last night either. I think that this year it is looking like a runaway UMN win for the MacNaughton, unless they tank hard.
  12. I'm surprised gopherz isn't on here tonight talking about all the UMN "god like snipes" and "seriously killer penalty killing". That said, both DU and UMN would wipe the floor with the Sioux team that played against UAA and UMD.
  13. I think that we will see another good game from Toews...hopefully with a goal or two. He has really picked it up as of late now that he is getting back from his injury. Good to see.
  14. The game doesn't start until 7:35pm.
  15. William (Atlanta, GA): The Sioux always seem to start slow (.500 in the winter the last few seasons), then seem to turn on the jets to finnish strong enough for four straight frozen fours. Do you guys forsee the same second half turn around and if not what do they need to do to turn it around this season? Jess Myers: I don't foresee as big a second-half push by North Dakota this season for some reason. Something just doesn't feel right. I'm reminded of the 2001-02 NoDak team that had no good reason to struggle, but did anyway. These Sioux have some talent, are struggling for some reason. The 01/02 Sioux team had no good reason to struggle? They dressed like 11 or 12 freshmen a night. I'd call that reason enough. This year's Sioux team is one of the more experienced teams in the league...if they continue to struggle, it won't be because they are young.
  16. I can't believe that you're getting so worked up about a comment that was made during the Miller Time videos. Hextall was obviously kidding around with Eidsness during that video. Do you really think that Brad threw his stick, water bottle, and then threw a temper tantrum after Hextall scored on him in practice? If he did, it was probably done as a joke. From what I have seen of the kid on the ice DURING GAMES, he has remained calm and poised during pressure situations. I haven't seen him react differently, even when he has been scored upon. That said...all goalies are crazy to begin with, so yes, I would be comfortable with a headcase between the pipes.
  17. So anyway.... back to that series this weekend with the Bulldogs.
  18. Yeah, I didn't see it in there until after I posted it in here. Oops. A sweep would be nice to see. Hopefully the Sioux can come out fired up.
  19. Nice. Brad is WCHA co-ROTW. http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/?blog=36662
  20. This game is never going to end. They're going to run out of players soon.
  21. You wonder about one of our most consistent forwards? He definitely plays with an edge...but not to the level of a Kaip or a Prpich. But he is already showing way more offensive upside as a freshmen than those two did. I'm not worried about him at all.
  22. Other scores: 3-1 Miami over MSU final 8-6 BC over UNH final 1-1 DU and SCSU end of 2nd 3-1 CC over MSUM end of 2nd 3-0 UW over UMD end of 2nd 2-2 UMN and MTU final A couple UMD players have gotten fighting DQ's in the UW/UMD game, so next Friday the Bulldogs will be shorthanded a bit.
  23. Other scores: 2-0 UW over UMD, end of 1st 2-0 Miami over MSU, 10min left in game 7-4 BC over UNH, no clue on time 1-0 MSUM over CC, end of 1st 0-0 DU and SCSU, end of 1st 2-2 UMN and MTU, final
