  1. Evidently he is out for the rest of the season now.
  2. Any chance of them reffing the Sioux game(s)? I would almost rather have a WCHA reffing crew in the NCAA's, just because the Sioux would know what to expect out of them with what they allow.
  3. No doubt. You would think that being as "smart" as they are, they would realize how ridiculous they look. In both of Little's goals (tying and GWG), he slides on the ice so many times he appears to be trying to help the zamboni driver out. They're acting like they just won the national title instead of a late Feb game against Clarkson. Hopefully Eidsness and the d-corps can limit those celebrations as much as possible on Saturday.
  4. Will Chambers' head explode if DU doesn't make it out of their regional? They are a team of destiny, after all.
  5. He addresses this further in the blog post comments. He said that all options are being looked at (for TV outside of just GF).
  6. Bleach blonde hair...are they the ECAC version of the Gophers? Brown looks like a DIII team...yet they beat Yale in that series, 2 games to 1.
  7. It looks like all regional games will be televised either Live or Tape Delayed on ESPNU. http://www.uscho.com/news/college-hockey/i...Tournament.html
  8. Good for him. Hope the best for him at Bowling Green.
  9. What I always find amusing is the fans that forget about the second half surges that seem to happen every year under Hakstol. I know we as fans (and the players) shouldn't take those 2nd half runs for granted, but to count out a UND team in Jan/Feb just seems silly to me with their recent history.
  10. I certainly like playing Yale instead of UNH or Michigan. That said, Yale has the highest GPG in the nation I read somewhere, so they won't be slouches by any means. Looking at their schedule/results on USCHO, it appears that they definitely pepper the opposing goalie. Most games they get twice as many shots as their opponent (including their game against UW during the WJC when UW was without three of their players). Does anyone know if Backman is out for the season, or will he be back for UND? It also looks like they rotate three different goalies and none of them have the best of stats. They have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Take it to 'em Sioux!
  11. Thanks for setting this up, bertibm, I had a good time!
  12. Bracket of death for UND. BC and maybe Michigan? If Michigan wins the CCHA tomorrow and gets in as a #4 seed, which #1 seed gets the pleasure of playing them first? They are red-hot recently...
  13. Great game from UND tonight. They kept constant pressure on the UMD forwards in the defensive zone...the Bulldogs couldn't generate any sustained pressure. UND was also forcing the UMD dmen to make mistakes with the puck, which led to many turnovers and chances for UND in close. If Reiter hadn't been playing well, this game could have been 3 or 4-0 after 2 periods. Also a great PK effort...holding the #1 PP team in the league to 5 shots on 5 PP chances and getting a SHG to boot was great. It will be nice to have a fresh Frattin back tomorrow night against DU. Hopefully he can continue his solid play. VV and Gregoire were both forces out there tonight and Eidsness was once again good between the pipes. I hope we can take it to DU tomorrow night and break their streak against UND this season... Go Sioux!!
  14. For a banged up team, playing 6 games in 9 days might not be the best recipe before NCAA play. I won't be happy if the Sioux lose tomorrow, but I certainly won't be ticked.
  15. That was quick. Best of luck to him in the pros.
  16. I suppose Michigan is anxious to get in a quality goalie recruit after Campbell bailed on them. I never understood the Patterson situation. Lucia talked about that during the pre-season, saying he would split their time more evenly this year, and that never happened (33gp for Kangas, 8gp for Patterson). And it's not like Patterson played poorly or anything like that. Must be frustrating for him.
  17. The rumors earlier this year is that either Kangas or Patterson will bolt due to them bringing in that Canadian goalie recruit this fall.
  18. I agree with that! With Jim's PWR calculations showing that UND could finish anywhere from 3-6 and BC anywhere from 3-9, hopefully it works out that we won't have to play them in the regionals. I would agree that I like our chances against BSU, SCSU, or Cornell over BC. Of course, we all know that SCSU will lose in the 1st round, so we wouldn't face them anyway.
  19. I would really like to see us replace BC as the top #1 seed, and keep us away from Worcester. That would essentially be a home regional for them. We've beaten them (and BU) before in Mass, but if we can face them in a different location, that might be better. Also, the INCH 4x4 shows a potential UW-Cornell regional final rematch from a few years ago. Maybe another snore-fest on the horizon?
  20. You picked a good year to go. Some of the fairweather Gopher fans that attend aren't that best. IMO the Gopher fans attending this year will be much better...a non-Gopher F5 keeps out the riff-raff. You'll love the tourney though, it's one of the things I look forward to all year. Hope to run into some posters while there!
  21. My thoughts exactly. This is a very low pressure F5 for the Sioux...I like it.
  22. Good, I like it that way. That means that opposing teams find it hard to play against the Sioux team and that the fans are into the games and make it an atmosphere that is tough to play in. Let's keep it that way.
  23. Jim's analysis of the F5 PWR implications: http://blog.siouxsports.com/2010/03/15/one-last-look-at-pwr/
