  1. Reading the SCSU season thread over on USCHO is pure gold regarding the Marvin suspension. They keep saying that UW and UND fans will change their tune once a UND or UW player gets suspended due to the new "rules" for longer suspensions. What they don't seem to realize is that there isn't some new rule in place regarding head hits and suspensions. Marvin's longer suspension was due to having multiple cases of injuring players with head shots in one season. Similar to Trevor Bruess' suspension last season...it was due to multiple issues on the ice, not just one instance. They are under some weird delusion that any head hit going forward will be an automatic suspension. Of course, these same fans also keep saying that Marvin isn't a goon (fool me once...), and they refuse to admit the Geoffrion hit was a penalty (contact to the head??).
  2. MN holds the tiebreaker over CC due to their H2H record (2-0) over the Tigers.
  3. UND holds the tiebreaker over both UMD and SCSU, so if your above situation happened, UND would be in 3rd.
  4. Stupid question here...I thought the tiebreaker for PWR was RPI? CHN, Whelan, and USCHO all list BC as "winning" the tiebreaker with us and being #6 with UND #7. Siouxsports shows us winning the tiebreaker and BC at #7. Not a big deal, but I was just curious.
  5. Yes, assuming we sweep MTU.
  6. Phew, home ice! Who would have thunk it? UND locks up at least 5th place, but could still climb as high as 3rd. They are 2 points behind UMD and 4 behind SCSU. UMD plays UAA and SCSU plays MSUM next weekend. We need UND to sweep MTU, need UMD to lose at least one game at UAA and would need SCSU to be swept by MSUM in order for 3rd to be a possibility. The WCHA tiebreaker is this: If we are tied with UMD in points, we win due to #1 (we are 3-1 against them this year). If we are tied with SCSU in points, we win due to #3 (we outscored them 17-10 in our 4 games). Go Sioux! Go Seawolves! Go Mavericks!
  7. Well deserved. Are we going to see another 2 Sioux players get POTW? Frattin for OPOTW and Eidsness with DPOTW?
  8. The Xcel Center will pay off the refs in the Gophers 1st round playoff matchup. They can't afford to not have UMN at the F5. So I say bring on CC instead.
  9. UMD plays UAA next week. SCSU plays MSUM.
  10. Now 2-0 UMD on a PPG. From Brad:
  11. Jack Connolly got the assist on Fontaine's goal. I thought Knight crushed him last week and he was out? RWD was all bent out of shape about that.
  12. DU 3 MSUM 3 in the 2nd I believe
  13. Per Brad: UND has one personnel change: Toews is in for Bruneteau. The lines also have been shuffled a little bit. CC has one change: Boivin in for Behrend on the third pair defense. The game is not on TV. Webcast is on B2livetv.com. UND's lines 17 Jason Gregoire--29 Chris VandeVelde--10 Corban Knight 19 Evan Trupp--22 Brad Malone--21 Matt Frattin 26 Brett Hextall--27 Carter Rowney--7 Danny Kristo 9 Mario Lamoureux--11 Darcy Zajac--18 David Toews 2 Andrew MacWilliam--24 Ben Blood 3 Derrick LaPoint--25 Jake Marto 20 Joe Gleason--4 Corey Fienhage 31 Brad Eidsness 32 Aaron Dell Colorado College's lines 16 Andrew Hamburg--13 Rylan Schwartz--25 Mike Testwuide 21 Bill Sweatt--18 Matt Overman--11 David Civitarese 23 Tim Hall--9 Brian McMillin--17 Tyler Johnson 20 Addison DeBoer--22 Nick Dineen--27 William Rapuzzi 10 Gabe Guentzel--15 Nate Prosser 24 Ryan Lowery--4 Joe Marciano 7 Kris Fredheim--28 Mike Boivin 31 Joe Howe 1 Tyler O'Brien 33 Michael Shibrowski
  14. Wear black, get the sweep, secure home ice, solidify PWR position...all in one game.
  15. Wow, sog are 13-8 CC.
  16. DU and MSUM tied at 1 in the 2nd.
  17. UMD ties it at 1-1 with seconds left in the 2nd period.
  18. I believe that is no charge. What a deal!
  19. The 2nd week in a row where two Sioux players have won a WCHA award!
  20. Great game for the twins thus far... 3 goals for Monique (4-6-10 for the Olympics) 2 assists for Jocelyn (2-4-6 for the Olympics)
  21. I like this plan better, even if it means Gopher fans starting to feel optimism.
