Watched Yon a few times this year. I like him. I've seen Cakebread over the last couple years and hasn't impressed me once for more than just a random shift or two out of a handful of games.

I have roughly 15 jerseys I'd entertain offers on...but am not actively looking to sell necessarily. Since I had a multiple people PM me about the one jersey I had, I may just offer them up to everybody so everyone has a fair chance. I'm not sure what the best way to do it is at this point. I think what I'll do is put one up at a time with what my starting offer is. To give everyone a fair chance, you can up the offer by $5 (or more). After two days, it's gone, and highest offer wins. Sound fair?

Have a white Medium, never worn.

One year, yes. It's kind of a "limbo" year, so to speak. Most reference it's ties to it being worn in the first year of The [new] Ralph.
-
That's correct, Gemini started the era of using the dazzle material, but most refer to those as "geo's".
-
The Sammy Sioux jerseys were the "diagonal" jerseys he's talking about. Like Siouxkid said, Nike's were often referred to as "dazzles".

If going through EPS... Pros: +$65 per jersey plus shipping to and from +Accurate numbering/lettering Cons: -Turnaround time is not good. Expect a month or two (or more if in peak season). They do individual custom orders as more of a courtesy than anything since they pay the bills by doing a number of pro and amateur teams' work each and every year. If going through REA... Pros: +All proceeds go to UND athletics. The Sioux Shop and Authentics are non-profit +Accurate numbering/lettering +Good turnaround time Cons: -Cost is more expensive I try to spend my money at REA whenever I can opposed to places like Scheels and other stores since the money is directly helping UND athletics. When considering the above pros and cons, I'd rather spend a little extra to have the work done through the Sioux Shop, but you are welcome to make your own decisions.

Winning 1 out of 10 is a pretty good clip, and a very reasonable goal to maintain at UND. I know I've said this before, and it's not going to change anyone's mind, but we are ahead of the game when it comes to winning. The Law of Averages plays a bit of a role in this. The bad news is, from a historical perspective, we were due for another drought. On the bright side, during this drought, we've still had a lot of secondary success to fall back on. It's not like we've been in the cellar trying to crawl back into the successful ranks of college hockey. The good news with the law of averages plays off of our short-term history, and it's the fact that we should have one coming soon. So, you have the long-term history fighting against our short-term history and it's just a matter of which one plays out. Chance of winning a Frozen Four...1 out of 4 or 25% (obviously) UND has won 7 titles in their 20 Frozen Four appearances...or 35% UND had won 7 of 14 appearances prior to Hakstol...50%!! (we were bound to slide back closer towards 25% as it was unrealistic to maintain a 50% winning percentage) If winning 1 out of every 10 titles is a good, yet reasonable clip (which I feel is very fair for a team like UND), we'd have 10% of all titles...or 6.7 titles (in a case like this, you can only round down as you can't get credit for more). UND has 7 championships, so we are still ahead of the game. Because we can't round down, we have 12 more years to win a championship to stay ahead of the curve. We've been very fortunate with our history, but times have changed and so should our expectations a little. On the short-term we are overdue for another championship, but on the long-term, we are doing just fine still. This is why everyone both wins and loses this argument every time. Hak is a fine coach who has put our team in many opportunities to win #8. He can't do it all, sometimes it's on the players, and the other team wants to win just as badly as we do, and we end up losing some games when we shouldn't.

Money unfortunately (and fortunately) doesn't buy titles. Hockey is a weird game. Long season yet boys and girls.

Viewing options for Sioux hockey games this season

I'm trying to watch the Western Michigan game right now, which is supposed to be live. I get the little "loading swirl" (as I call it) on a black screen. I'm on a wired connection desktop PC with 100 mb/s down through Midco and have tried both Chrome and IE browsers. Still nothing. Thoughts? EDIT: Nevermind...WMU is having issues. Good start to the season I see. -
All of them.

You can do Chromecast from PC's and tablets as well. -
Having one for every TV in the house, I highly recommend Chromecasts. Your stream quality doesn't change with a Chromecast. It streams in the same quality as the device you are streaming from is capable of,or depending on what you are streaming, it will stream in native resolution. The only way you'd have buffering issues is if your router has a weak signal strength to your casting device and/or Chromecast (ie: your router is on the opposite of your house by a ways). Pretty much any average cable or DSL internet with decent router is more than enough. Chromecasts are designed for the masses and very easy to use.

Capisce! Thanks!

Someone needs to come out and tell us exactly what we are getting with this package whether it be UND, the NCHC, or someone like Schlossman or Hajdu. I'm purchasing something, I just don't know what yet.

Every school and team in the country gets called by their colors. That's not a nickname, it's just an alternative to repeatedly saying UND/Sioux/North Dakota all game or in write-ups.
-
Something tells me that even if the 86-87 team had Wayne Gretzky, they still would have lost that game against American International. If they lost that game even with just the roster they had, I'm not sure anyone else would have helped.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Tony Hrkac. He's a Sioux legend. But, he wasn't really a leader either year he was there. He only played two years and was essentially booted off the team after his first year. Then he got his head straight, came back, and had the greatest season in college hockey history. Does one season make up for the lack of the other areas? That's not for me to say. Everyone has their own opinion. He no doubt had the greatest single season in team history, but as an overall UND career, I think a few guys best Tony Hrkac.

EDIT: Before I wrote this, I missed Farce Poobah's post...my apologies Farce! If you ask me, the perfect candidate would meet the following criteria: -won at least one title -played at least 3 years, 4 preferred -captain preferred, alternate captain acceptable -accomplished something amazing while at UND (record points, Hobey, or other, etc) -post-UND accomplishments are a bonus, though not required I would narrow this field down to just a few names. Greg Johnson - Meets all criteria except winning a title. Played four years, was a captain (twice), set team record for career points, and played in the NHL Bob Joyce - Played three seasons, was captain of the 1986-87 title season, has the highest single-season goal scoring record at UND (which is tied for 7th in the nation...and is the most recent 50+ goal scorer in the NCAA), and also played in the NHL Karl Goehring - Though he wasn't a captain (he was a goalie) despite being one of the undisputed leaders on the team, he won one title, played in another, and though I'm too lazy to look, I believe he owns many of the all-time UND records for goaltending. He played four years, went on to a professional career, and even came back to UND as a coach. Mark Taylor - Gave four years, won a title in 1980 as Captain, had a nice pro career in the NHL. Though he doesn't have any amazing feats as a player now, he WAS the all-time leading scorer before Greg Johnson. He definitely had some great stats including a 92 point season his senior year (the Hobey Baker award was awarded for the first time the following season...Mark certainly would have been a favorite in the 1979-80 season had it been around...he outscored the '81 winner, Neal Broten, by 21 points and won a title as captain that year). I'd say Mark Taylor would be my personal pick. I think had the Hobey been around one year earlier he would have won and would be the only one to meet every bit of criteria on the list. He gave all four years to UND, won a title, was captain, played in the NHL and was a certain Hobey candidate had it been around. One other note: Greg Johnson 272 career points at UND Mark Taylor 265 career points at UND Not much disparity...

Ice level near the locker rooms. It will be in a private area, but got a sneak peak today, and WOW! Though, it would be weird to have a couple empty displays, so help out the team if you can. I know it's tough to part with these sweaters, but if there's something REA/UND can do to help persuade you to sell one of yours, let me know.

REA will pay $450 for a white or green authentic Nike dazzle jersey. Please email me ASAP if you'd be willing to sell. We can swap out cash for added value in Sioux Shop gift cards as well. The renovation project is nearing an end and we could desperately use just one more green and one more white Nike dazzle. siouxjersey@gmail.com
