  1. I'm pretty sure that was the point of his response.
  2. Outside of the national championship with Hak's team in year one, what's better about the UND hockey program now than it was under Hak? Not a single thing. Everything has regressed.
  3. Need Paul Ralston to ask the tough questions about their "choke job"!
  4. No disagreement there. But, the regular season is there to create seeding for postseason play...whether it be conference tourney or national tourney. Winning a bunch of games in fall every year is fine, it helps us hopefully make the tournament and sometimes assists in winning a supremely overrated regular season conference title, but doesn't do anything for you in March or April. We aren't good at all based on our March results in almost a decade now.
  5. Sadly, we're neither.
  6. It's better to be lucky than good.
  7. Food for thought using the Frozen Four teams this year. David Carle (DU), 34 years old - 3 Frozen Fours in 4 seasons. Brandon Naurato (Mich), 39 years old - 2 Frozen Fours in 2 seasons. Jay Pandolfo (BU), 49 years old - 2 Frozen Fours in 2 seasons. Greg Brown (BC), 56 years old - 1 Frozen Four in 2 seasons. Brad Berry (UND), 59 years old - 1 Frozen Four in 8 seasons. **2020 season omitted in statistics since tournament was cancelled The younger hires of David Carle and Brandon Naurato have both shown to be successful hires so far. Pandolfo is younger now than Berry was when he was hired. Greg is of similar age to Brad, but has shown he is able to provide elite recruiting. There's no agenda to push here, just some interesting tidbits to note. Maybe having a younger head coach wouldn't be such a bad thing. Maybe just having a fresh face can spark new life into the program. Maybe none of it matters and you just need a good coach. But, combined, the four of those coaches have 8 Frozen Four appearances in their 10 collective seasons while UND hasn't been to one in 8 years. Not only that, we've only won one NCAA tournament game since then.
  8. And I am more curious as to who is nicer. Clearly you are not nicer than Brad Berry.
  9. Meh, doesn't matter. The real question is who is a nicer guy?
  10. Sometimes Blake tried to do too much and made mistakes. Then sometimes it worked and he was brilliant. I think you need guys like Blake to compete at the highest levels, but you need to put him with linemates who are capable of playing with someone of that elite caliber. All the famous lines in UND history....DOT, CBS, Pony Express, etc., could all feed off each other and play like-minded hockey, even if they were bringing different assets to the game. Blake seemed like he was a one-man-band because oftentimes he had to be.
  11. How about a Bubbles? He knows a thing or two about puck.
  12. Yes and no. Obviously I feel that there isn't much to get excited about, but if someone does find something exciting about March hockey at UND since 2017, then I'd be curious to know.
  13. Titles are too difficult to win to be expected, but the excitement generated during the Hak era was unparalleled. Seemingly every year could be our year. Never missed an NCAA tourney (Brad missed three), 7 Frozen Four appearances in 11 years (Brad 1 in 8), plus all of the conference postseason success with Hakstol. You could spend your money on St Paul or a regional knowing your team would be there and they'd show up. You could buy Frozen Four tickets in advance knowing your team had a better chance of being there than not. It was all very exciting even if they all ultimately ended up in disappointment. What's exciting about UND hockey right now?
  14. We are the Dallas Cowboys of college hockey. Brad Berry is our Mike McCarthy whom won a title of yesteryear but has failed to produce much in the postseason since. Our history and legacy is akin to being "America's Team"...both widely loved by its fans but hated by most others. Now we've both become the laughing stock of the postseason performance.
  15. For cripes sake, how many times do we have to tell you that we won the Penrose old man?!
  16. You'll have to ask the mod that deleted it.
  17. Since my other thread was deleted despite it being just facts.
  18. It's never been about being right or wrong. It's about holding UND to the standard that it should be held to in the college hockey world. Just look at what Brad inherited and look what we've accomplished since. I can appreciate some NCHC titles, but I just don't those matter a ton. I'm not even expecting titles...too much puck luck in one-and-done format tourneys. What I want to see is having top-tier talent excited to play for our program. I want the national pundits to rave about UND like they used to. I want the fanbase to be excited out of their minds for two weeks with another pending trip to the Frozen Four even if it ends in tears. The Penrose is a slow burn that no one thinks about until you have the trophy.
  19. Holy smokes, I almost forgot this time...
  20. I expected more out of you....like more tar and feathers. I'll bring the tar, Mike will bring the feathers, but Berry's a big dude and we're going to need some help!
