  1. I HIGHLY doubt the ND will be like the EWU logo. I'm thinking it will be something subtle where you may not notice unless it's pointed out.
  2. N Schmaltz: Pass the puck with open shot in the slot. Duncan: Snipe from dot.
  3. I think it'd be a pretty good game between UND and London. CHL overall has much more skill than NCAA. As mentioned numerous times, NCAA has age and strength. The game has evolved past the physical game to an extent, so I think some of the more skilled CHL teams would fare pretty well in NCAA's. I think London would have been a tough out in an NCAA tournament with their team they had this year. If I had to put money on it, I'd slightly lean London over UND personally.

Some youth team "borrowed" the logo a couple years past. They may even still exist. If you want to search through the 76 pages in the thread, I believe someone who had ties to the team had mentioned it at some point, but can't recall for sure.
  5. Neither is Notre Dame, or like you say, Nebraska. Boston College is no academic slouch either and could definitely see the B1G at least doing their research on expanding to New England. Will they? Hard to say. But, I guarantee the thought has at least crossed their mind, and name a better school in the Northeast for the Big Ten to consider. Their next expansion (not a hockey expansion, but an all sport acquisition) is going to be a new, large market. Money talks and the Big Ten is making a ton of it right now. Many schools would jump at the idea without even blinking to get on the Big Ten money train.
  6. No. Same crap. If the website won't post a phone number, it's pretty much guaranteed not to be legit.
  7. Just a thought... The B1G is always looking to expand into newer, larger markets. That was the sole reason for adding Maryland (Baltimore and DC) and Rutgers (NJ and even NY). What if the B1G's next move is to add a team like Boston College? This move wouldn't be made because of anything to do with hockey, but purely to expand their footprint into the Boston area and gain an even larger coverage for BTN by adding all BC sports. This would automatically put BC in the B1G Hockey Conference. BC was one of the big (no pun intended) reasons that Notre Dame went to Hockey East at all from what I understand, since they are rivals, and this would add a lot to that rivalry as well. BC hockey fans would hate that move, but the university may look at the big picture and decide it's a good move. This move could coincide with a farther south East coast school as well.
  8. I think Nick wants to leave, but every outside source is telling him not to with the Hawks being indifferent on it all. I think this has him torn. It will come down to if he decides to listen to others or decide his own fate. That's just my unfounded speculation on it all. Clearly he is not fully committed to coming back yet, or we'd already know that he is.
  9. Shepherd was always great in person. Fun to razz on the ice as well, but never was the awful ref that Todd Anderson consistently is.
  10. Anyone else get nervous that Nick is gone every time they see this thread at the top besides me??
  11. Don't do it! It's garbage.
  12. Mark Taylor, as mentioned above. And that's really the end of the thread, in my opinion if talking all time. For sure would have been our first Hobey in 1980 if it didn't start the following year in 1981 I would imagine.
  13. Got a chance to talk to Tyson for a minute at the U18 Tourney. He seemed genuinely excited to be coming to UND. I've always had that same fear, though. It's like everything you hear about the kid seems too good to be true.
  14. I don't think it seems much different than most of the time personally. I remember how huge it was when we signed Cichy and the Mattson kid who never made it to campus.
  15. Yes and no. There's always excitement over our incoming recruits. It's a new challenge for them when they get on campus, and a few can succeed right away, and most need a year or two to acclimate. It's nice to know we have somehighly touted guys, but I'd have a little cautious optimism.
  16. Unless you know something I don't, he's not a big kid at 5-10, 165 and only finished T42 in regular season AJHL scoring as a forward, a league not known for a ton of high-end recruits. He's also already 19 and will be 20 in the fall, so an older kid, his stats and size don't bode too well in my eyes. Not saying he's a bad player, but even our role players are typically good enough to light it up in juniors. I'm glad for him that he's able to go D1, though.
  17. Thank you Fanatic! You don't happen to have any other games do you...either this year or prior?
  18. Dell was great and plenty good enough to win a title. Cam was awesome as well, and I'm not trying to take anything away from Cam, but our D-corps was a bit better this year than in 2011. There were some good Defensemen in 2011, but as a whole, the 2016 group is the best UND has had in awhile.
  19. One really cool video WatchESPN had was an "ice level" view with no announcers, just crowd noise. It was a lot of fun watching from that view, particularly during the goals and other key plays.
  20. Paul Ralston? Or another Paul?

The black 2013-14 jerseys were sold with the patch on them from the team. They put the patch on them because they don't determine what color they'll decide to wear until it's too late. The seller didn't do anything wrong in this case. No, the team didn't wear black, but the team was the one to add the patch.
  22. He may not be eligible for a medical redshirt. I believe that if a player is capable of playing after his injury, whether he plays or not, it negates the ability to redshirt. From what I understand is that by the end of the season he could have played had we needed him to or wanted him to. It's hard to piece it all together without being in the locker room.
  23. I've seen mixed reviews on Greenway. The physical attributes are there. His brother is at BU and they're from the East. My guess is he isn't going to venture too far from the region, but you never know. Rumor is he's a middle-round type pick, which doesn't necessarily mean anything.
  24. This will be your experience at any Frozen Four event for locations not used to hosting the Sioux.
  25. All three potential conferences have pros and cons.... Big Ten: Pros: Name brand recognition; like schools Cons: Travel NCHC: Pros: Denver and CC are the closest proximity schools of any of the three interested conferences; Quality of league play Cons: Diffuculty in attaining wins; mostly no-name schools to those in Arizona WCHA: Pros: Easiest Schedule Cons: Travel; Poor brand-name recognition with conference foes I think them joining the Big Ten and playing a non-conference schedule that included Denver, CC, and Air Force regularly would make the most sense. As cool as it is for ASU to have hockey, they have an uphill battle to become competitive. This isn't Penn State 2.0.
