Like I mentioned above. We have one forward with 10 or more points (he has 11). We have five forwards with more than four points. In January.
-
What's net front presence? The point of the game is rack up as many shots from blue line and side boards as possible. The bad news is, as far as I could tell, we came out healthy....which means we have the same team wearing green tomorrow. The good news is

Step 1) Bad recruiting. Step 2) Bad coaching of bad recruits. Step 3) Bad recruits sometimes turn into good recruits with good coaching. If you're reading this on step 3, bad recruits stay bad recruits. Step 4) Lose to Canisus, after getting swept at home by Western Michigan, after losing to Bemidji.

Tomorrow is January 5th. Currently there is ONE forward with ten points. ONE. 1. UNO. EIN. (out of languages) Currently there are five forwards with more than four points. Yes, it's still January. That is unacceptable and it starts at the top.

Does Chris Wilkie count?

I would agree that there were more talented forward groups, but the defensemen on that team were great top-to-bottom as well, something that wasn't always the case. Cam played above the expectation level that season as well. Hak's teams just found ways to lose on the defensive side, rarely the offensive side. But, the Denver team, those BC teams, Minnesota, and that BU team were all excellent teams in their own right that produced a ton of NHL talent. The only real head-scratcher that didn't make sense was the loss to Michigan in 2011, but even then it's one-and-done and anything can happen. Sometimes black hits ten times in a row on the roulette table too.

One thing I haven't been able to get out of my mind since last year is, how are we so talentless up front? It should be almost impossible for a school of UND's reputation, alums, history, tradition, facilities, etc to have this bad of players. It's like Berry tries not to get good players....that's the only explanation. I actually like our D and goaltending, so who's running the show on the forward recruiting?

I want to say what I'm thinking, but I'm going to count to 10 and re-evaluate.

We made it to page 4 without a photo of Jon Durno?

The jersey for auction is not the same as the jerseys the team wore on Saturday. The jerseys the team wore against the U18 team are modern air knit jerseys made to today's standards. The one the Sioux Shop is auctioning is period accurate to the late 50s. It is knit wool and has a much trimmer fit, amongst many other little details.
-
Having been heavily involved in the project, I'll keep this short with two things. One, the company that had the jerseys made purchased a different knitting machine. Who knows where the other machine is, but at this time you can no longer produce those jerseys to the methods that were used for the Ralph. The company was actually in transition to their new machines at the time already and turned us down multiple times to even do one last order on the old machines after seeing the work on the new one. Two, the cost alone to produce them to the detail that was involved was very high in terms of materials alone. As far as I can remember, everything was produced/knitted in the USA. The only reason there are extras to sell is because the companies dealt with had minimum orders to even sniff the project. Like Frozen4sioux said, there's nothing wrong with AZSioux's replicas. He's a legit nice guy and makes a decent sweater...they are just a modern jersey done up with old school appearance. If you want something that is very unique and rare, and would look great in a frame, the REA authentic remakes are the way to go.

I don't want to be rude, but I hope you didn't pay too much as that's a counterfeit.

Heck of a game by Scheel. Wow. That was a shutout in my eyes as I'm not sure how he was expected to save the only Duluth goal tonight.
-
Was going to say something but didn't want to jinx it! LOL Adam Scheel is a huge bright spot on our roster and is only a freshman. Put a team around this kid and he can take us to the promised land.

Our lack of talent/skill doesn't scare teams so they go with extreme pressure kills which suffocates our boys. If you have some high-end talent, they'd pick that pressure apart and find open guys (who can bury the puck too) all day long. Lack of skill combined with lack of scoring ability creates big problems.

3; Ludvig Hoff, Casey Johnson, and Cole Smith. It's easy to pin this on one class, but the issues I think run deeper. Hak & company were very good at recruiting "teams". Not all classes were star-studded under Hak, but each served a purpose. Hak also seemed to know how to get everything he could out of these types of players, whereas they haven't grown or developed in their time under Berry. We'll never know whether they just aren't that good or if the coaching isn't aiding their development. If you read between the lines, it doesn't sound like the locker room is all-in together so far this season, something that you never heard of under Hak.

Good points, but he is also doing what he is doing in Duluth....formerly a mediocre program that was a step-child to bigger programs. That's going to create a rocky ride naturally. Now he has Duluth as one of the premier programs in the country. I wouldn't be surprised if they go through another short mediocre period in a couple years. The point of bringing Sandy in is taking what he is capable of in Duluth and amplifying it in a known hockey factory that UND is. Best facilities, best traditions and culture, best fans.
-
That's what Vegas was a month ago....they already forgot.
-
How many of those bridges are actually still at UND? Not many that I can count. For the record, I think Eades is a good coach, but may not be in UND's best interests to rehire.
-
I shouldn't have even mentioned Kristo and his one foot. Next thing we know Berry will start trying to bring more one-footed kids in.
-
Paul Ralston! Yes, we need him to do the post-game...if nothing else for comedic relief. Paul doesn't know when to stop talking sometimes, so it would be a perfect fit this season.
-
I don't disagree. It's not even close to being a done deal. You just never know if you don't ask (with a lot of money held out in your hands).
-
Sandy isn't even making $350k right now...he gets increasingly more each year until his contract is up in 20-21. Keep in mind, I think those salaries get divided up among the staff.
-
Sandy's will max out at $350k in a couple years plus bonuses I'm sure. Berry is at $400k plus bonuses. I don't see a problem with going $450-500 for Sandy with his proven track record and alum ties.
