I don't want to be rude, but I hope you didn't pay too much as that's a counterfeit.
  2. Heck of a game by Scheel. Wow. That was a shutout in my eyes as I'm not sure how he was expected to save the only Duluth goal tonight.
  3. Was going to say something but didn't want to jinx it! LOL Adam Scheel is a huge bright spot on our roster and is only a freshman. Put a team around this kid and he can take us to the promised land.
  4. Shhhhh!!!
  5. Our lack of talent/skill doesn't scare teams so they go with extreme pressure kills which suffocates our boys. If you have some high-end talent, they'd pick that pressure apart and find open guys (who can bury the puck too) all day long. Lack of skill combined with lack of scoring ability creates big problems.
  6. 3; Ludvig Hoff, Casey Johnson, and Cole Smith. It's easy to pin this on one class, but the issues I think run deeper. Hak & company were very good at recruiting "teams". Not all classes were star-studded under Hak, but each served a purpose. Hak also seemed to know how to get everything he could out of these types of players, whereas they haven't grown or developed in their time under Berry. We'll never know whether they just aren't that good or if the coaching isn't aiding their development. If you read between the lines, it doesn't sound like the locker room is all-in together so far this season, something that you never heard of under Hak.
  7. Good points, but he is also doing what he is doing in Duluth....formerly a mediocre program that was a step-child to bigger programs. That's going to create a rocky ride naturally. Now he has Duluth as one of the premier programs in the country. I wouldn't be surprised if they go through another short mediocre period in a couple years. The point of bringing Sandy in is taking what he is capable of in Duluth and amplifying it in a known hockey factory that UND is. Best facilities, best traditions and culture, best fans.
  8. That's what Vegas was a month ago....they already forgot.
  9. How many of those bridges are actually still at UND? Not many that I can count. For the record, I think Eades is a good coach, but may not be in UND's best interests to rehire.
  10. I shouldn't have even mentioned Kristo and his one foot. Next thing we know Berry will start trying to bring more one-footed kids in.
  11. Paul Ralston! Yes, we need him to do the post-game...if nothing else for comedic relief. Paul doesn't know when to stop talking sometimes, so it would be a perfect fit this season.
  12. I don't disagree. It's not even close to being a done deal. You just never know if you don't ask (with a lot of money held out in your hands).
  13. Sandy isn't even making $350k right now...he gets increasingly more each year until his contract is up in 20-21. Keep in mind, I think those salaries get divided up among the staff.
  14. Sandy's will max out at $350k in a couple years plus bonuses I'm sure. Berry is at $400k plus bonuses. I don't see a problem with going $450-500 for Sandy with his proven track record and alum ties.
  15. Sadly, this may actually not be rock bottom.
  16. Hard to say, of course, if Sandy would leave. He certainly does have a good thing going and would have quite the roster mess to clean up in Grand Forks. Money talks. You either pay the man what he needs (within reason) and carry that expense....or watch money get pissed down the drain with the soon to be half-empty Ralph. If you don't think a half-empty REA is possible, I think you're mistaken.
  17. Hak may not even be done in the NHL if he gets let go from Philly. Heck, even Yeo got a second chance and Hak is not a worse coach than Yeo. Hak has an almost .500 record with team save percentage in net of .880 (at least of a couple days ago).
  18. I would love Hak back....never was on the bandwagon of disliking him. If not Hak, there's a proven Sioux alum with coaching and recruiting ability. He was on the other bench tonight. You pay him to come home. If a coach can do what he's been doing in Duluth, imagine what he could do with REA and its facilities and tradition.
  19. The worst of it is....the best case scenario is getting back on the horse where we belong takes a few years to straighten out with a team this bad. Every year that a coach brings in this little amount of talent makes it even harder to get to the top.
  20. I don't think anybody expects Berry to name names....but he doesn't come across as having any sort of urgency in getting this figured out. That's the frustrating part. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever envision teams like Duluth being light years ahead of us, even with our worst teams.
  21. Thanks for reminding us....not sure we'd win an ACHA title with this group.
  22. Good first period. Gave up goal with five seconds left, then first shift of second period let them get another. Can't let them have goals on back-to-back shifts. 2nd intermission was tough and Berry "found out" who wasn't a quitter in the third (in more or less terms). Too many guys not doing what they're supposed to be doing. Back to referencing the good first period again.
  23. Teams play like they're coached, so predictable post-gamer. It's hard to believe Brad actually wore the sweater at one time.
  24. I vaguely remember some kid losing a foot out on the fifth hole or so of Ray Dicks who could still find a way to score.
  25. I see your point. But, if the Nets only played twice a year they'd probably sellout Metlife Stadium both games. I think part of the attendance problems is the watered down availability. When an event is easy to attend it doesn't feel as special to go. That's why you see the demand for an event in Vegas as crazy as it was. Fewer tickets with high demand in a unique travel destination creates excitement. For those that got to go, you'll always be able to say you were at that game. A year from now if you said you went to a UAA-UND game at the Ralph and you're a Sioux fan, nobody is going to bat an eye. People want what others can't have, so when everybody can have it, nobody wants it.
