I think we have another thread for this topic.. lets stick to recruiting on this thread.

UND is on fairly solid footing for football also.. auto bid conference, Big Sky, and IPF. I get the fans are restless because of the Montana blowout, But,I thought the article by the GFH was kind of funny... NDSU does not need UND - which is true. But, look at the schedule UND had without NDSU. Valpo, SDSU, Montana Montana St, EWU, Sac St and UNC. In the long run I like the position UND is in.. Montana, Montana St, Poly, and EWU rotating on a yearly basis with regional games against SDSU, USD and UNI for nonconference home games. I am fine with NDSU being replace by Montana St as our conference rival. It will take some time to build (wins by UND) but not a bad team to be paired with.. hey that what this thread is about UND vs Montana St...

Can anyone from the Montana side give a nice run down of the injury situation - I know that the QB is hurt - not sure about the rest.
-
Offense is going to be as productive as the QB because the running game is not clicking. The running game could change because, I believe that the oline has been ding'd up since the start of the season with Walker being out. Plus, I think the coaches were counting on Adams who was hurt during summer off-season training. Defense is still a work in progress - but not having MSU McGhee plus having a couple game tapes on the replacement should help. I think Molberg has a breakout game and defense holds the MSU running game to under 200 yards. UND wins 38 to 34 in a wild one.

I look forward to Griz and Cat trolls - much better than the FU has "moved on" trolls that still haunt this place.

Bohl's 06 team went 10-1. On that team 12 starters were Babich recruit's including three future NFL players (Frick, Mays, Dahl) and Walker at QB. Lennon didn't leave the cupboard as full for Muss - best players in the last two classes for Lennon (Bellmore, Hawkins, Hendrickson, Landry and Schwenzfeier).
-
This teams strengths are on the offensive side of the ball and we have started two R-Fr at QB - I think they have the opportunity to greatly improve over the season. Now, if we could just get the O-line going.
-
My old coach used to say - "You are never as good as your best game and you are never as bad as your worst." You have a highs/lows during a season. Let the season build and see what you have at the end.
-
I don't think this program is going in the tank. I like the coordinators that we have in place. I think given time they will produce. Muss sat a couple players last year for skipping class and he sat a player this year for unknown reasons. He kicked Murray off the team. I believe this is the first year that UND has had a full set of assistant coaches. Is Muss the right guy, I don't know that this point. But, I am going to wait until the end of the season to make my evaluation.

Fire away.. I can handle it. just saying let the season play out.

Nice, hey I am not saying I am happy with results on the field - far from it.

Fine, you can look at the transitional period. I am choosing to look at this season. It is off to a bad start, I was expecting a slow start giving an inexperienced QB and a defense that is going to take a another year or two to fix - unless you go with a heavy JUCO/drop down approached. Based on the recruiting last year and this summer and the lack of significant drop downs or JUCOs. It is clear the coaches are going to rebuild the defense with 4 year players. That is going to take time. So, I was not optimistic about a major change on the defensive side of the ball. Overall, I felt like this was going to be a .500 team and they might be able to win one of the four major home games. Notice what the Griz did to rebuild the offense - two major drop downs - one a Florida commit who ended up at Marshall and was Conference USA Freshman of the Year who is now at Montana, a stud receiver from Washington and they reinstated a QB. Quick question how do you go from a Florida recruit to Montana in a couple of years - the guy has got some baggage. It does not mean he isn't a good guy, but he is a risk. Do we want UND to take those types of risks? Or do we want to take a patience long term approach and build from within. Again, it is clear - UND is rebuilding from within and I support that approach and it is going to take a couple of years to do that... I am fine with that..

I can think of 3 games and in reference to the body of work - I am talking about this season. I want to see how the season goes and I will take a look at it at the end of the year.
-
I still say, wait until the season is over and then review. You need to look at the full body of work. None of us know the full story - plus sometimes you have games that are just bad. You go back to work and make sure it does not happen again. I will review at the end of the season.
-
I don't know what the defensive call was - but Carr was 10 yards from the line of scrimmage when the pass was released. I think Montana attacked the safeties yesterday and won big time.
-
Everyone needs to calm down on this topic and let the season play out. Right now I say Muss stays, he has a rebuilt staff that I like and I like the talent level of the younger player.
-
Montana taking a knee at the 5 V formation... they could have put up another TD but settled with a 30-6 win - they look good.. Big Sky - Montana St, EWU and Montana all look good - but it is a long season - I love UND being in the Big Sky..
-
Montana 30 and App 6 Griz rolling..
-
Montana looks good - the transfer running back Van looks really good and Johnson looks good. The Griz are handling App
-
Sic - thanks.. I was watching BigSkyTV but switched over to ESPN3 for the Montana game 16-6 midway through the 3rd. It looks like App St is starting to get it going.. Johnson the QB is 13 of 14..
-
Weber St up over SFA in 4 qtr - don't have the exact score but they said Weber St leading by 19.
-
Adams is a stud and Montana is up on App 16 - 3 at half

I a little nervous about the o-line.. The Pre-Fall two deep had: RT - Deneui, Windfedt RG - Hoerchner, Meehan C - Walker, Hellman LG - Anderson, Adams LT - Kleason, Barton Hurt, illness or still recovering from injury: Windfedt, Adams and Walker Current Two-Deep: RT - Deneui, Peterson RG - Meehan - ? C - Hoerchner - ? LG - Anderson, Isenberger LT - Kleason, Barton Of the current back ups only Barton was in the two deep rotation at the start of fall camp and season just started.
