This could be interesting. St. Paul can be tricky this way they have a branch of the Interstate System 35E with a speed limit of 45 and serious load restrictions.
-
I completely disagree - Midco has done a great job . They have provided great exposure for UND sports. I hope that they are able to make the streaming platform work and that they are able to get Summit League/MVFC and NCHC all under one umbrella. People complain about UND sports being segmented to watch. I would say that is more of a function of UND having its sports all over the place in multiple conferences. UND needs to keep working to get all of its sports in a single sports conference. The Summit League would be better served if they sponsored Football, Basketball and Hockey.

I think it is called HCU Houston Christian University - I think previously it was called Houston Baptist University - in the Southland Conference. Ex-Great West School.

I thought that July 1st was move in day for the new athletic offices. I was expecting a bit of social media.. is it happening or did I have the wrong date?

I always thought they jumped on a train Iike a bunch of Hobos.

Really looking forward to this season.

Oh, it was clear to me, I just wanted to add some context about the differences in programs. And the Aviation programs are absolutely not comparable.
-
Are you serious - good Aviation program? What aviation program? I just looked it up they have an aviation program. But there is absolutely no comparison between the two aviation programs. Here are the graduation and retention number for 2022 at SDSU. 2016FA (Fall 2016-Summer 2022) Start 20 Graduated 6 30% And many consider the engineering programs at SDSU as the second-best program in the State after SDSM&T. IMO, SDSU is a good school. I have many friends who have attended. But it needs to get the Dairy program going again and look at Veterinary programs. You know BE the State's "Ag" school. What is more important to the State? Ag or Aviation. Apparently not Ag based on some of SDSU's actions. South Dakota State students fight closure of Dairy Research and Training Facility https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=c7f11382fdd01dcbJmltdHM9MTcxODU4MjQwMCZpZ3VpZD0zYzI1ZWU4NC0wNTQxLTYyMWQtM2RiOC1mZWQ4MDRhNzYzOTcmaW5zaWQ9NTMxOA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=3&fclid=3c25ee84-0541-621d-3db8-fed804a76397&psq=Dairy++Progam+at++South+Dakota+State+closing&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYWd3ZWVrLmNvbS9saXZlc3RvY2svZGFpcnkvc291dGgtZGFrb3RhLXN0YXRlLXN0dWRlbnRzLWZpZ2h0LWNsb3N1cmUtb2YtZGFpcnktcmVzZWFyY2gtYW5kLXRyYWluaW5nLWZhY2lsaXR5&ntb=1

Yes, and now the rest of the athletic department has freed up money that would have gone for those hockey scholarships. It's a win/win.

Not a fan but I raise you, "Minnesota"
-
And the USD at SDSU game.
-
Agreed, this is up to the head coach not the AD unless another incidents took place.
-
You forgot free college and college debt cancellation for all that qualify (non profits and government workers).
-
Ah, crap I deserved that.... when I looked at the page I was looking for a general A4 versus G5 norm and did see one. Thanks, for an informative substitute.
-
It would be nice to see this with 4th Quartile of A4, G5, FCS. I think UND and NDSU would be very comparable to G5 schools.

That could be true about UST. But, I think the advantages are going to be: 1) Local recruits know UST. And UST has a higher profile than SCSU, MSU or UMD. They will be very competitive recruiting against other Minnesota schools. 2) Transfer Portal: MSP location plus UST graduate programs will be a very enticing option in the portal. 3) NIL money: UST can be a player in a NIL world. 4) Commitment to high level hockey: When they have $140 million dollar arena coming in. I think that means commitment. I see UST being a tough opponent in the very near future. As far as conference size, I would be fine with Miami, WMU and SCSU moving to the CCHA. See the budgets that I have posted previously.
-
Why do you think that? Is your only thought that the conference is too big?
-
They are already at CCHA level along with Miami and W. Michigan. Institution Conference Primary Hockey University of North Dakota NCHC Summit $5,453,864 University of Nebraska Omaha NCHC Summit $4,910,317 University of Minnesota-Duluth NCHC NSIC $4,450,551 Colorado College NCHC DIII $4,117,107 University of Denver NCHC Summit $4,108,526 Arizona State University NCHC Big XII $3,505,282 Miami University NCHC MAC $2,540,578 Saint Cloud State University NCHC NSIC $2,337,159 Western Michigan University NCHC MAC $2,170,025

Agree on Augie.. it is just going to push Augie for more at the DI level down the road.
-
Not that they would talk about it in public, but succession planning for the football program needs to be discussed. The planning to date has lead to losing two very valuable coaches and multiple players. I would think that if this is done properly, you would not see the level of attrition that we have.

David Saylor AD History 2009–2010 Rice (interim AD) 2010–2012 South Dakota 2012–prsnt Miami (OH) David Saylor has been Miami's athletic director since Jan. 2, 2013. The league was formed on July 9, 2011 and began playing for the 2013–14 season. But, he has some history with UND. On November 01, 2010: UND will officially join the Big Sky on July 1, 2012, but will begin working immediately with league schools on scheduling, marketing and other conference matters. The Big Sky also added Southern Utah on Monday, and South Dakota is expected to join the league within the next few days. "We're hopeful South Dakota will be in a position to make this move as well," UND athletic director Brian Faison said. If South Dakota becomes a member, the Big Sky will become a 14-team football conference split into two seven-team divisions to help control costs. Later that week on November 04, 2010: "To join a league as strong as the Missouri Valley Football Conference is very exciting for South Dakota," Sayler said. "The MVFC is an established group with regional ties to some great rivalries and that is what college football is built on. As we embark on new facility projects, growing the Howling Pack and increasing university enrollment, this move strengthens our position at the FCS level."

The position coach left the school. I think it is perfectly natural to look around. He found a fit with two coaches he previously worked with in Rouse and Freund and the school offered programs that applied toward his interests. He gave the new coach a chance and it wasn't a fit. He was respectful to the program when he left. He completed an interview in the largest media market in the State. He was thankful for the opportunity. I don't understand the issue. It's change.

Was there much talk about facilities: We know about Memorial Village I, Memorial Village II and Fritz Phase II. Any word on basketball facility updates?
-
I think people can be disappointed if the responses are similar to some of the Press Briefings we see. Were the answer isn't related to the question and simply turns into talking points by the athletic department. I think people can get frustrated if that happens because you are completely disrespecting people.
