    ASU to NCHC

hmmmm, any reason to dump SCSU is fine with me.
  3. The research numbers are impressive.
  4. Can we please start a Mr. Hong thread to keep this one clean? I believe that he has already been recruited to play at North Dakota.
  5. No, it was specific about the Bison and joining the MWC as a football only.
  6. Well, shame on me I guess. On the AnyGivenSaturday site, I was told FBS (G5 and P5) conferences are all sports conferences and football only affiliations are not allowed. I will have go back and DM the source. Typically AGS is fairly good about football information. I will let you know what he comes back with.. the person who posted the information is fairly reliable. I do believe that he has worked in an athletics office and has been fairly connected at his school based on his previous postings.
  7. Correct, they (Hawaii) and the conference received an exemption from the NCAA due to extenuating circumstances. You also have Navy (AAC/PL). I don't think NDSU will get the same treatment.
  8. I believe current rules do not allow Football only. So, you should not assume this position as a starting point. A football only invite would have to be approved by the NCAA.
  9. So, to watch UND sports you will need: NCHC streaming (mens hockey), SLN streaming (mens basketball), CBS sports (basketball/hockey), and Midco Sports Plus or espn+ for football. Is this correct? I feel like we need a chart for this..
  10. Great store, they are the brick and mortar stores for Tire Rack. Pick out what you want on Tire Rack and then call discount tire to set everything up. It's a great deal.
  11. Looks like UNI and ISU are not happy about the Alston program. https://www.siouxfallslive.com/sports/bison-media-zone/mens-sports/missouri-valley-football-coaches-say-players-dropping-hints-about-money-in-recruiting
  12. There are opportunities available that many schools will never see again. Do you want to sit in G5 purgatory were the gap is only going to get worse or take a chance and create new opportunity. The clock is ticking.
  13. Agreed, Washington and Stanford were the two best picks after UCLA and USC. Oregon is the Epstein of college football.
  14. Oh yes on CSU Rams, they and OrSt and WasSt are absolutely peer Land grants schools. SDSU Aztecs are a different beast. They have enrollment and location which is to say another California market that doesn't care about football.
  15. And many schools know how valuable the P5 autonomy is.. It carries serious branding for a school and a State.
  16. This is what I was thinking - PAC-12 is looking for 6 or more teams which is a majority within MWC. Could they do things to make life easier for themselves.
  17. I believe both WasSU and OrSU would be superior to any MWC school and Idaho is a very good school. But, I am not sure that it is a peer to either school.
  18. Whats left for the Pac - 12: FL: USF, FAU, FIU, SE: Georgia St, Tulane, Memphis NE: Miliary - Army, Navy, Buffalo, Temple Texas: SMU, N. Texas, Rice, UT-SA MW: UNLV, SDSU, CSU, Boise St, Frenso St., USAF, Hawaii Not the best choices but some nice schools with reasonable markets. It will be interesting to see if they stay with just the Texas and MW schools. And where do they stop with the number of schools: 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16.

    2023 Recruiting

To be hone Once the P-5 schools are done. There needs to be a meeting of all the remaining/potential Western US states schools at the G-5 level. Sort things out logically. Reform 1 MW or 2 WAC conferences. Get some re-alignment together to reduce travel costs and go from there. The way things are looking there might not be much left of the MW conference in a couple of weeks.

    2023 Recruiting

Looks like I have some friends, anyway, I wanted to provide more clarity on my position. If UND was 100% supported by itself. I would say no problem go for it. But, the athletic department is 50% supported by govt fees and public tax dollars. Any dollars coming in should be made to support the department until it is 100% funded. In my opinion you can't have it both ways. Source: USA Today 110 North Dakota Summit $30,859,877 $30,837,768 $14,777,751 47.89% UND has approximately 48% of its revenue defined as Total Allocated or (Student Fees $3 million and School Funds $11 million). Total Allocated: The sum of student fees, direct and indirect institutional support and state money allocated to the athletics department, minus certain funds the department transferred back to the school. The transfer amount cannot exceed the sum of student fees and direct institutional support that the department receives from the school. (Under NCAA reporting rules, any additional money transferred to the school cannot be considered part of the department’s annual operating revenues or expenses.
  21. I think UNI is about right.. they could throw a wrench into MVFC this year. SDSU needed a last second FG last year to win. I think the top 4 SDSU, NDSU, UNI, UND are very close. SDSU had the best D line in the MVFC last year. They graduated a couple of disruptors from that line. It will still be good. But, not as good as it was last year. So, it will be interesting to watch the MVFC. I don't think SDSU runs the table in conference this year.

    2023 Recruiting

So, you are comparing a normal student who end up with $26,000 x 4 or $104,000 in debt to athletes at the FCS level low/mid-level DI (scholarship/COA/Alston/tutors/meals/training staff/facilities exclusive to them). Not sure we are exactly on the same page. At the high-end P5 programs sure, at UND - excluding hockey not so sure. And to compare athletes to normal students is ridiculous. FYI, I have had both types (athlete and non-athlete) in my family. It should not be compared. And to the athletes that say they are being taken advantage of.. I say quit - nobody is forcing you.
  23. Couldn't UND actually cut a sport - Golf (M). It would improve male percentage -10 participants and maybe up to 4.5 scholarships (not sure if they are fully funded).
  24. Yes, first day of practice - @Teeder11 please save this thread with a camp report or two!!!
  25. I agree, I don't think the Pac 12 is going away. The Pac - 12 has a seat at the P5 Table. They have reasonable group of schools to select from. It just depends on how big OSU and WSU want to go. Do you stay Western/Southwestern US or go national. You have: 1) MW - SDSU, UNLV, Colorado St, Boise, Hawaii - maybe Freno 2) American - Rice, SMU, Tulane, Memphis, USF, Temple, UT-SA 3) Make a play for all Military Schools (Army, Navy AFA) All are options, it's a major rebuilding project. But it is the NIL era, and a local business or booster can make a big difference in a hurry.
