Not that they would talk about it in public, but succession planning for the football program needs to be discussed. The planning to date has lead to losing two very valuable coaches and multiple players. I would think that if this is done properly, you would not see the level of attrition that we have.

On November 01, 2010: UND will officially join the Big Sky on July 1, 2012, but will begin working immediately with league schools on scheduling, marketing and other conference matters. The position coach left the school. I think it is perfectly natural to look around. He found a fit with two coaches he previously worked with in Rouse and Freund and the school offered programs that applied toward his interests. He gave the new coach a chance and it wasn't a fit. He was respectful to the program when he left. He completed an interview in the largest media market in the State. He was thankful for the opportunity. I don't understand the issue. It's change.

Was there much talk about facilities: We know about Memorial Village I, Memorial Village II and Fritz Phase II. Any word on basketball facility updates?

I think people can be disappointed if the responses are similar to some of the Press Briefings we see. Were the answer isn't related to the question and simply turns into talking points by the athletic department. I think people can get frustrated if that happens because you are completely disrespecting people.

SCSU school president is leaving a couple of month earlier than expected. More cuts coming for the school. To be honest there are only 4 hockey schools in the Summit League. Only 3 of them are in the NCHC. So, having two of three in favor is a majority. Not sure how much St. Thomas has expressed concerns at this point. And if anything I would think they are in favor because at some point it would be a path to joining the other conference schools. So you are more than likely looking at two scenarios: "UND and Omaha" or "Denver and Omaha" in favor. Because if it was "UND and Denver", Omaha would be along for the ride. So, UND and Denver coming into alignment on thoughts doesn't seem so far out of reach to me. In particular on a media deal when you now have: MSP, Omaha, Denver and Phoenix as media markets with the UND fanbase. So, more efficient use of existing conference overhead and potentially more income. It doesn't seem like a reach to me. PS: Thanks for the links, nice discussion.

How much do those coaches trust the Big 10 to be the voice of college hockey?

Tennessee State and Lindenwood - Nashville and St. Louis markets - Basketball, Football and Hockey schools?

Is the CCHA going to MAC - UMass, BG, Miami and WMU are all currently playing D I - Hockey. And at one time Kent St., Ohio U had hockey programs. With the NCHC going to the SL - UNO, UND, StT and Denver. This would give hockey a seat at the table as they say with Big 10, SL and MAC. Right now the only voice is the Big 10 and do they really care about hockey?

And it helps the Summit League with multiple sports in MSP, Denver and Omaha. Phoenix for hockey and KC and Tulsa for basketball.

I should have mentioned this is my previous post. In addition to St. Thomas and Augie it does bring in Mankato St and Bemidji St also.

Actually I think there are a number of teams that have moved to more of a 3/4 defense - one of them was YSU. I can't recall the others. But, teams are moving toward this approach because of the read option and running QBs.

No, about two weeks prior to the end of spring ball on the spring prospectus - they had a page for the depth chart which was empty and a note saying it will be updated on the week prior to final week of practice. I looked late last week and apparently the update was to remove the page all together.
