Nice scare tactic by a mod that doesn't like the Fighting Hawks nickname. Not going to work.

This has been brought up numerous times, but: don't want to copy Red River, Roughriders isn't really a ND name, doesn't fit the women's teams, not unique in that other teams besides RR use it (I know FH isn't either so it doesn't apply to either), and most importantly, I TOTALLY DISLIKE THE NAME!!! Probably a few more I could name if I wasn't so sick of this subject.

Not what I wanted either, but it's 1000 times better than Roughriders. I'll be voting Fighting Hawks when it resumes.

Actually, before the season even started I had been calling for 7-4 and a playoff spot. I didn't up my expectations as the season went, only bandwagon fans do that. Now I will say that I am deeply disappointed in the way this team totally tanked. Next year we not only should expect to get to the playoffs but actually win a game. We need to do more than we have been or we'll always be a second rate team.

I'm going to vote Nodaks again. It's a good name and it fits us just fine. If Nodaks had been eliminated, I would have gone with FH. I'm just not a RR kind of guy.

The whole QB situation is alarming to say the least. I'm not overly fond of any of them. Studs isn't much better than average and the other two never lived up to the hype they came in with. What has me concerned is, if Studs don't improve greatly, we deal with this same garbage next year again. Somehow we need to recruit better QB's and enough of them to have some depth. Look at NDSU, the great Wentz goes down and from what I'm hearing the new guy comes in and doesn't miss a beat. This needs to change or we will be mediocre for a long time. Studs has shown flashes of promise at times, but we need a whole lot more of this.

I agree fully. I voted Nodaks and have a hard time supporting RR. It's a name I totally dislike. I can't decide which one I will vote for next time but I know which name I WON'T vote for

All I can say is we totally sucked today. If this is Bubba Ball, we are screwed. End of rant.

I've had a chance to interact with a fair number of alums in the past few days, and it seems about 50% want Nodaks, with RR and Hawks evenly split for the balance. No everyone wants an over the top, shoot em up cowboy mascot. Go Nodaks.

Roughriders and Nodaks in a run off, and in the end Nodaks win. People will finally realize we don't need to steal a name from a local high school. Besides, Nodaks is a very cool name.

Well, I'm still voting NoDaks. I just don't like Roughriders and that's that.

I absolutely knew this would come up, and I'd bet that Bubba knows Mollberg is worse than Bartels, or he would have played him. I've never been overly impressed with Mollberg and we just have to hope Studs comes back pretty soon. Sorry, but that's how I view it.

31-27 UND. Hopefully things fall into place for us.

I've come to the conclusion that geaux sioux will hate any QB not named Mollberg. He's so fixated on Mollberg that he can't see anything good about anyone else. The same could probably be said about him and Ratelle. So when are we going to get news on Studrud? I don't get why the staff is being so secretive about his injury.
