Jake Landry off to Iowa State per Kolpack
-
Not being snarky cuz I'm not close enough to the program to know. What are the challenges right now at UND that keep us from getting chippahs? We seem to be getting passed by quite often.
-
I don't know of the timing of offers over the last few years. I'm guessing we would have had to be in early on many of these that went to FBS as they offer earlier also. I randomly searched three of them and their commitment dates were early June (2 of them) and December of the year prior. I really hope things are different. It is easy to make offers but harder to close them. I did meet up with a member of the UND athletics fundraising team in the last week. They explained some of the things that are different with the football program now and they are very exciting. I believe that we can make a big step forward and really hope we do.

I really don't buy into the thinking that we didn't try to recruit high end players in the past and only offered those with DII offers. Here is a partial list I found of 2024 offers that committed elsewhere. We did compete with FBS and other FCS teams. We just didn't land enough of them. Offered, Committed Elsewhere OL Kene Anene, 6’5”, 265, Woodbury (East Ridge), MN Committed to Kansas LB Dash Bauman, 6’3”, 200, Lincoln (East), NE, Committed to Wyoming LB Drew Braam, 6’2”, 220, Oak Creek (Oak Creek), WI Committed to South Dakota State DL Tono Cornell, 6'2“, 280, Iowa City (Independence), IA, Committed to Illinois St WR JJ Douglas, 6’5”, 215, Janesville (Parker), WI Committed to Central Michigan LB Peder Haugo, 6'2“, 200, Fargo (North), ND Committed to NDSU DE Hunter Kallstrom, 6’4”, 220, Kerkhoven (Kerkhoven), MN Committed to Wyoming LB Connor Kayser, 6’4”, 210, Ankeny (Ankeny), IA, Committed to UNI OT Josh Klann, 6’5”, 260, Lodi (Lodi), WI Committed to UW Eau Claire DL Fernando Lecuona, 6’3”, 250, Omaha (Millard South), NE, Committed to S Dakota St LB Sam Macy, 6’5”, 220, Chanhassen (Chanhassen), MN Committed to Minnesota LB Antonio Menard, 6’3”, 225, Lakeville (North), MN Committed to Air Force DL Darius Pahmahmie, 6’2”, 295, Liberty (North), MO Committed to UNLV RB Elijah Porter, 5’11”, 170, Ankeny (Centennial), IA, Committed to UNI Zashon Rich, 6’2”, 180, Minneapolis (North), MN, Committed to Wyoming OL Grey Rumohr, 6’5”, 285, Waukesha (Kettle-Moraine), WI Committed to N Illinois RB Terrance Shelton Jr, 6’1”, 195, Franklin (Franklin), WI Committed to Buffalo WR Jack Smith, 6’0” 190, Sioux Falls (Lincoln), SD Committed to South Dakota State ATH Will Steil, 6’2”, 195, Cold Spring (Rocori), MN Committed to NDSU TE Joseph Stein, 6’6”, 230, Grand Island (Northwest), NE Committed to Northern Illinois OL Riley Sunram, 6'5“, 265, Kindred (Kindred), ND Committed to Minnesota OL Nate Tastad, 6'5”, 260, Rolette (North Prairie), ND Committed to NDSU DL Zach Vanderpool, 6’5”, 230, Byron (Byron), MN Committed to NDSU

Probably right but I hope not

I wouldn't feel left out if there was a survey that went out to season ticket holders of men's or women's basketball, hockey or Champions Club Legend level ($50k+/year) or any other group that I'm not a part of. I don't understand why a survey of tailgating season ticket holders should be an issue for anyone.
-
Yes. Us season tailgaters do pay for all of our spots. I guess if you really wanted to kill tailgating you could charge $100/spot/game. My bill would have gone from $300 to $2100 last year and I would have noped out. The main difference between the cost of tailgate spots and game day parking is that you pay for them ahead of time so you are paying even if you don't show up. We used all of ours for every game the last few years but in the past it was hard to justify driving 650 miles round trip for a meaningless game and standing outside in the wind and 10 degrees for 4 hours late in the year. When Mike Mannausau was coaching he would come back out after the team went thru to greet and thank those of us who braved the weather to tailgate and support the team. He said he felt he should because of the dedication to the team we were showing.

Thanks for putting together this list. Will be great to track and see who we get to commit. Caleb Francois -Minnetonka has also been offered and has verbaled to Iowa St.
-
I was wondering the same. We live in TC so didn’t go. I did get a questionnaire that I filled out. Some questions on how many games we used our spots and did I think those that use them all the time should get preference of some sort.
-
Francois announced commitment to Iowa State.
-
Anything new on Jamernik?
-
Francois has picked up an offer from Iowa State.
-
That is true of the commitments we got. I can't find the Wiki page but my memory is that we offered a lot of kids that committed elsewhere and we eventually ended up with a bunch of players with D2 offers.
-
I disagree a little. My take is that we did offer a lot of higher end recruits but didn’t get many of them. Hopefully that changes with the new regime.
-
I have watched him play a lot of football and basketball. He is a great athlete and would be a very good addition. He was really good as a dual threat qb last fall and took them to the state finals but heard he might play a few different positions next fall. Would also be nice to build a recruiting connection to Minnetonka.
-
Looks like he followed to WSU
-
how do you ignore the cross checks to the head/neck behind other net right before rush for goal? as others said - he was being held down also.
-
for a few seconds had a nice overhead shot of 1/2 the ice with only the goalie in the frame.
-
I spent a year at St John's playing (sitting on bench) for Gagliardi way back in the day. You are correct in that they find a way to get their top athletes other scholarships since athletic scholarships are not allowed.
-
Gronowski to Iowa.
-
I agree although it’s just one more step beyond walk-on's vs. scholarship players. The scholarship athletes always got/get first look.
-
I think in that is right. He was a Minnetonka kid.
-
Heard (2nd or 3rd hand) that the NIL money for our new QB was $50k. It's impressive that we have kind of NIL money to offer if true.
-
I'm pretty much a 'don't let the door hit you in the arse' guy but I'd welcome him back. Local guy, great player and the landscape of college fb has changed so much lately that I think we need to get with the times and get better any way we can. And............I randomly connected with his family at tailgating 2 years ago and they always had a big party going and offered up great food and drinks to me.
