You know we should leave that up to the high powered agency that will be hired to come up with the logo - one thing is for sure - not everyone will like it.
-
Wow - good for Berry - shows you who really rules the roost at UND.
-
Neutral site required...unless your Notre Dame.

The email is out, the voting starts next week, UND will move ahead quickly as they need to be able to say "We have invested too much in moving forward with a new nickname to take a step backwards." Go Fighting Nodaks!

100% meaningless as we all know - I'm not expecting miracle on the hardwood but you have to like the talented youth on this team. That youth probably means we will be faced with another year where the primary focus for some will be playing AD and trashing the staff.

It was announced at 9,100 which looked believable. November always takes a dip and no reason to think it won't this year. It was less than 10 years ago that SU had no meaningful games in November for more than 20 years - what goes around comes around. Funny with all there is to talk about at bison-swill you still find the need to come here- pathetic.

Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton Conversation
CMSioux replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in NCAA News
So if/when SU makes an attempt to come into compliance with Title IX I guess they would be following UND> -
Homecoming - with a crowd that wants to get excited. O-linemen hold their blocks a little longer, linebackers are a little more intense, home game - Sioux win 27 - 19.

So far every quarterbackl we have played has left the game at least for awhile with their bell rung -- I see that string continuing.

I totally agree - new generation means new priorities and interests. There is no single reason - "in my day" we would walk over to Memorial stadium from the dorm. There was usually plenty of room, a big drunk buy might stand up once in awhile and lead cheers but it wasn't very rowdy unless it was SU - the Greeks would come over intoxicated make some noise for a little while and then disappear. Maybe it's more obvious because we are inside and the emptiness is more obvious?

I support all of our current quarterbacks - Bartles has never really had a chance but I am confident in the coaching staff as far as playing time decisions. His injury last year was gut-wrenching as it would have given him a real chance to prove himself in the last few games of the year. That being said, and even considering our OLine is probably a little better this year, if this team had a few of the interceptions or bad decisions we saw under Molberg over the past two years it would be 2-2. Again I will say I support Molberg and Bartles and consider it a strength that both are ready to step in because as we see nearly every weekend it's a tough game and depth is important.

From what I've read I'm not thinking they will have much of a home field advantage. Not playing on their home field, outdoors and around 4,000 fans. We just need to play Sioux football.

Actually to protect a trademark the owner has to show a good faith effort in being consistent in protecting it in all situations - now the fact they have a website should make it easy for a good attorney to make a connection and ask them to cease and assist. We won't ever know how this goes down since all that will probably happen is the website and shirts will quietly disappear - and good riddance.

So when Grady pancakes a guy is it "The Grady Crunch"?

UND has lawyers on staff they don't have to hire lawyers to defend the logo. If you like this logo you better buy it now as it will be going away soon - another test of infringement is when you are obviously trying to link yourself to an organization to sell your goods. Siouxpride.com got a letter because one of the designs was a little too linked to hockey - which has nothing to do with native american clothing - that design is now a collectors item. Personally I don't see that design as a way to respectfully preserve the name or the logo.
-
That's the point - the right style feathers = "Long live the Fighting Sioux"

Actually from a player standpoint getting "Flown all over the western US" is a nice perk. Which would you rather do take a plane to Missoula, Montana or take a bus to Cedar Falls Iowa. I will say as a fan it pretty much eliminates road trips but then again the bottom line is no matter what anyone thinks would have happened our football team was offered a home in a top conference and we took it.

I know some people feel that trolls add to the discussion but I'd be willing to take the chance that we might not miss them. Especially those that are obvious.
-
Actually I didn't even know about that option - I gotta read the owner's manual on this thing
-
Yup this really adds to the discussion - we need to clean out some bison turds.
-
Could you please clairfy are you a UND fan or an SU fan it will help put some perspective on your comments.

Sometimes I think we don't need to SU trolls. Geez an offense with a first-year quarterback and tons of freshman playing goes up against a 4-time national champion and some of the "fans" are dissing their own team and coaching staff. We aren't there yet, we are moving in the right direction. Here is what I took away from the game on/off the field. Off the field: I thank UND and Bubba for stepping up and getting the game scheduled. To me it makes SU look petty and selfish that they were the reason this game wasn't being played. (please trolls don't feel the need to throw out your tired excuses). On the field: we needed this measuring stick to put fire in the belly of the players. I'm hoping it pulls them together more as a team. I also like that they were able to play in this environment. The injury sucks and it's cheap plays/players like that that pour gas on rivalries. The #1 sport at SU is football, the #1 sport at UND is hockey but that doesn't mean that we can't build football into something special both on the field and in the stands but it takes a commitment from the athletic department to provide the resources for the team and the motivation for the fans.

Don't you think you're better than lowering yourself to being a troll on another team's fan site - you're stepping in bison-swill.

I'll say it again, it says a lot about Bubba's character that he insisted on this game getting scheduled no matter what the demands. We are in year two of a rebuilding process, this young team needed to be shown that it is going to take a lot more work to build it back. I like the talent and the character of this team from top to bottom. As I have for the last 8 years I will be in the stands for every home game cheering them on.
