A couple of things you can bank on if UND is to go deep into these playoffs - at least three of these will happen: Berstine will not get into foul trouble early Baldwin and McDermott will be lighting it up with 3 pointers Candall will be slashing and burning them. Hooker will be Hooker Avants will continue to play much bigger than his height Seales will rediscover his touch A couple of things you can bank on if UND has an early exit - at least three of these will happen: Drick has more fouls than points in the first 10 minutes Baldwin and McDermott can't find it from 3 point land Crandall tosses a few passes into the stands Hooker will be Hooker Avants gets into foul trouble Seales is off And no matter which way it goes you can bank on it that Shanks will have two fouls called on him within the first 10 minutes and at least one of them will be a head scratcher.

Not an excuse - and they need to be punished - but the way public opinion is moving on MaryJane this is no worse than a minor in possession and should be treated as such ...unfortunately this will no doubt attract trolls - in the big picture, if handled appropriately and Bubba has proven it will be, it's a part of helping young adults make smarter decisions and holding them accountable.

Stupid...stupid...stupid...18 year old's make dumb decisions - but it's not something that should result in getting kicked off the team - plenty of other discipline options that will send a strong message. In the big picture it's a minor crime but they do need to be consistent in the way they handle these situations and anyone on scholarship does deserve to be held to a higher standard.

So that is a good reason to hijack every basketball thread into a "Fire Jones" thread? If I was on this team and all some fans wanted to talk about was firing my coach I wouldn't think much of those fans.

Then they would have nothing to talk about - team finishing 4-5 places higher than projected, great crop of talent on the court, only 2 seniors, wide open field in Reno...nah let's talk about why Jones should be fired. (Not a Jones apologist I just think we have lots better and more positive things to talk about.)

Must be a student production - one of the primary (and simple) rules of sports production is you never change the prospective from one side of the court to the other during the game - it's just too confusing for the viewer.

Not sure in the history of UND has the football team ever had a season of all sell outs. Of course averaging more than 10,000 a game would be nice.

No way he wins Coach of the Year for several reasons not the least of which is Big Sky Bias, then there is his courtside antics.

I also love how much fun this team seems to have - and they seem to trust each other. Even though Shanks has some hand coordination issue they don't give up on him - and you gotta feel for the guy because he is totally getting shafted on phantom fouls in every game (not saying there isn't room for much improvement but if he improves as much next year as he did from last year to this year he will grow into a solid contributor). Love our bench strength too and the guys waiting it out this year are going to bring even more to the table.

Sitting here with my foam hockey stick hat on, courtesy of the UNO (#mavspirit), great weekend to go on a road trip. Solid performance by UND - defense was dominating. Considering they have been swept 4 times at home since December their crowd wasn't that bad. Their students have got several routines down and they have some great video productions that get the crowd going. Thank you Joanna and Al for putting together another great bus trip. (By the way it's been my experience that on a road trip this team and its fans are all "Fighting Sioux")

Getting ready to make a 500+ mile roadtrip to the games with about 40 of my "closest" friends.

Fans gotta be careful though because according to the NCAA even saying "UND is a great school" to a prospective recruit is a violation.

So many guys had bad games and where is Seales?

I call total BS on The Betty sicing the ushers on the student section. I talked to a securityguard andhe said is was The Betty staff thatmade the request.

From what I have read on Pro Days it is not the host schools decision on who can attend. There us an Association that governs them.

I really don't think the Marketing Department needs an email from me to figure out that if they want to create excitement about football they could start by doing more with the spring football game. The lack of effort has to be intentional and maybe it's coming from the football department. Maybe their focus during spring football doesn't lend itself to a full-blown public event. Regardless having the game at Memorial Stadium will do nothing to bring in anyone but the hard-core fans - there will be no tailgating atmosphere, funky restrooms, no PA announcer, no booths attempting to generate interest. Heck they could use the time to promote tailgating spots but that is another area where they have demonstrated they really aren't willing to put much effort in - don't get me started there (and yes many have shared many ideas for pumping this up - it's just status quo year-after year). So instead of using Spring Football as a way to jumpstart excitement for next year it will pass unnoticed within the community and there will continue to be comparisons.
