Not meant as a diss - there have been some very good teams, this year not one of them. Still very entertaining - love their passion for the game (a great reflection on the staff).

I was at game this morning and also caught the last set of EW vs Louisiana Tech (I think EW won). Seemed to be the typical "invite teams that ensure you win your own tournament". UND was stronger and dominant - although they have a very tough non-conference schedule so it's probably nice to get a break at home. Looking at past history of this tournament there have been years they brought in some strong teams, if I remember right UND has won the tournament about 5 out of 7 times.

Student section full but seems they don't know how or when to make noise. Third and long and geezers are up and cheering, entire student section sitting.

So if we show up at noon do you think the lots will ne blocked closed?

Champion's Club cards are another missed opportunity, I paid for mine months ago and every year I have to make a call about them.

To me it is a poor reflection on the Athletic Department looking out for football student athletes, B S needed us as much as we needed them, no all conference possibility for our juniors and seniors.

Was it ever explained why UND had to agree to spend 2 years in conference pergatory. Wasn't it possible to switch conferences without having to be an independent and give up all the award possibilies for players?

Probably because they are a private school so they would not need permission to move up from the state, just private donations. Same reason St. Thomas in Minneapolis comes up a lot. No way St. Cloud is a candidate they are struggling with attendance and funding.

The way the big shots know how to manipulate the system you can bet those credits are already done.

The clueless continue to suggest that football be cut, but it is s required sport in most conferences so dropping it would put all women's sports without a conference, but they seem to be stuck in anger mode.

It is a loophole that is now being abused. Having to get 19 credits in a summer session to transfer out is not what the NCAA intended. But we want players who want to be here and graduate from here.

Probably means attendance for the year will be down (because two of the largest crowd drawing games are now on the same day), so next year some can say that fans are bailing.

Very disappointing, I support all of our student athletes with my time and money. They need to make life choices but to me this is a reflection on his charactor. Definitely not in same league as Q.

If you are going to create news you gotta dig deeper: how many departments at UND have female chairs? How many administrative offices have female chairs? How many female coaches and department chairs within the entire state University system? What about coaches of color? What about LGBTQ coaches?

As Chaves said they need to hire the best qualified person that applies for the job. There are paid staff at UND whose job it is to disagree with that.

Looking back at 2016 - there were a couple of teams that were ranked at the time we played them, so of course us beating them becomes part of the reason they ended up not being heavyweights. Because of the unbalanced schedule in the BS every year at least one team rises out of nowhere and at least one team falls from grace - you can almost predict it will happen again this year. Maybe the stars were aligned in 2016 and we took advantage of it. Injuries do change the course and capabilities of teams every year, not an excuse but it is a reality. We aren't where we want to be yet. However I'm still looking forward to enjoying the season and in the future being able to take in some road games, something that was impossible over the past 4 years.

I guess you ride the best horse. Fargo media talks about SU football year-round as that is their thoroughbred. In GF it is hockey. Example! do you think we will see a Herald story on what numbers the incoming freshman football and basketball players will be wearing?

I am very glad they found the money for the football team. Football is more my thing. I also saw someone tweet a picture of their volleyball ring just a few months ago. However was it not posted here that the hockey team does not get rings for winning a conference championship?
