  1. So would you fire these coaches after eight years? Coach one: made NCAA five times in first 8 years, then did not make the playoffs for the next 4 years. Coach two: did not make the NCAAs in his first six years, then made it to quarterfinals and semifinals in his seventh and eighth year. Yes or No.
  2. They seem to be doing trying to accomplish that on their own. (sarcasim and potential Fantasy League points).
  3. Much easier to cheer for Denver than Minnesota. We need western college hockey to be well represented in the final four.
  4. Over/Under on number of posts at GPL calling for Lucia's head at 3:30 today - no matter which way it ends up.
  5. Ain't it great that when we talk about our conference it's not to talk about who's leaving or what conference we wish we were in. And that when we fill our schedule it's with schools that someone has actually heard of and we don't have to beg or grovel with them. Seven home games this year - sweet!
  6. I had the jalapeno cheese summer sausage on a sandwich for lunch - just about ready to jump in my car and head up to Crosby for some more. The benefits of attending the Hoggsbreath just keep on comin!
  7. So how do we get the cheer Hoka Hey into regular useage at games? Talk about having special special and unique for the teams (and a way to preserve the Sioux heritage).
  8. Darn close to 50 people at this year's by my count. Multi-generational - nice to hear the history and see the young guys taking an interest. Thanks to everyone for letting me share siouxpride.com with you. This year me and some friends are going all in and planning to have a tailgating booth at all home football games this year - look for the Siouxpride.com van and stop in and chat. We'll have the Sioux Shot Board ready for you.
  9. Glad we have you here to define it for us. Thought it was an Einstein from Fargo and FU graduate that started the legislation and kept it going long after UND had moved on?
  10. Didn't see any from FU - but you might want to check the "barns that rock" listing.
  11. Hey just saw your PMs to me - sorry I don't go there very much I left you a bunch of information. See you at Hoggsbreath.
  12. I wil be there - hoping to bring a couple more with me from Al's bus. I will donate some give-aways and with permission have some "Once a Sioux, always a Sioux" shirts (shown in icon) to sell and Sioux Mask of Honor Hoodies available. (if someone can explain how to post images here I can drop in a picture.)
  13. Watching online yes the penalty was pretty obvious, but the announcers where the ones saying throughout the OTs "You can't call a penalty in overtime." Tough to accept the tradition of changing the way the game is called in overtime. I suppose the longer the game and the more tired they get it's inevitable a penalty will eventually have to be called.
  14. Sorry in this game I won't say the better team on the ice won - give UND just one Powerplay in the OTs and you have the biggest upset in women's college hockey. Can't accept that Minnesota got three powerplays and UND got none - Minnesota definitely had callable penalties that were not called because "You can't call that in overtime."
  15. Interesting that in the second OT we were pulled down in front of their net and the announcer said "We're too deep into overtime for UND to get that call", guess things changed a little later when they got the call.
  16. When are CIT invitations sent out. It would be great to be at full strength and get a CIT bid against another team within the region waiting for one - perhaps the CIT would create a bidding war to host the game?
  17. Going with no nickname is probably what most old schoolers would go for but it is very limiting when it comes to generating income to the school from shirts and other items. Anyone can slap North Dakota on something and sell it. Now UND could develop a special North Dakota typestyle or logo-type word and protect that but they can't stop anyone from printing North Dakota. Thus the reason they might move toward a new nickname. Unfortunately they could continue to make millions off of Fighting Sioux as an historic icon but the NCAA won't allow it. They do have to figure out some way to use Fighting Sioux in the public entity in order to protect it however. I'm sure they have that one figured out already.
  18. Yah they are just looking in the wrong place - you won't find it in stores you may find it in courtrooms, back seat of police cars, Best Buy stores after hours ...
  19. Wonder if this is a subtle message to those who left? "Madison is a strong player that wants to be at UND," Brewster said.
  20. Tough to understand how some want to put a first year coach on the "hot seat". Mike Krzyzewski would have been gone after his first year with that standard.
  21. It's a fun off-shoot of the Final Five, a gathering of like-minded UND fans, good food and we pretty much have the place to ourselves.
  22. I blame Faison.
  23. You can turn this into a negative about the program if that is what you are looking for. Leaving a program with one game left in a season is more a reflection on the players than the staff. No way the staff would kick players off a team with one game left unless there were major team violations or legal issues. What does it say about their relationship and connection with their team mates and their personal integrity - they were playing on scholarship and didn't fulfill their part of the deal.
  24. A coaching change over means the new coach gets to develop the program the way he wants and with players that fit the needs of the new program direction. Not to bash the two that are leaving but if you have seen any of the games and focused on their play you would not be that concerned about these departures. In fact with two scholarships free it means the coach can bring in two new players that better fit the future needs of the teams. I am totally not concerned about the direction of this team and see Brewster easily able to bring in the talent needed to put it at the top of the Big Sky and keep it there.
  25. I will bring some door prizes from my website product line - siouxpride.com. I cam make either day.
