Where have you been? My sentiments exactly. Of course sideline antics, academcs, behaviorial issues need to be addressed - to maintain the integrity of the program and the school - and that is where the administration can step if - IF they see it as an issue because they see the big picture. I think our biggest problem is too many are comparing where we are with another school - they have their warts too, but winning covers up warts as we all know. I also think that when a good coach finds members of his team are more problems than they are worth there needs to be some housecleaning there - which results in more losing until the ship is righted - so it becomes a can't win sitatuation for the staff. Of course we have all seen coaches at all levels that are willing to overlook trouble players and team integrity for the sake of winning.

Sorry it's been proven that anything posted here other than "We need to clean house and it starts with Muss" is met with "your head is in the sand, you are willing to accept losing, etc." I would like to read some ideas for improvement that are based on more than just conjecture, spite, anger and bar stool philosphy. Anyone willing to double what they are current donating to the Champion's Club so they have more than $110.000 to offer a new coach - of course that gets the answer "I'm not giving a dime until Muss is gone" - cop out. Again there are ways to have constructive discussions on the state of the football program without going negative. If you can't figure out how - that's part of the problem here.
-
Except for the insults thrown at players - highly doubt a parent will enjoy seeing that.

The question was asked what do I think the source of the problem is. Unlike others I don't have the information to answer that question - Oh I could guess, post insults, beat down anyone who doesn't agree with the thread but in the end it's Faisen's job to come up with that answer (fortunately he has many of you to help him). I'm sure he has all the necessary information to identify and deal with it. What I do think and have shared is that the source of the solution is not mocking the staff or players on a public website or mocking any other poster who feels that way. I do believe it will have an impact on recruiting because in this day and age you can bet plenty of parents and relatives are going to school fan sites to check out the attitude of the fans and when they see "Fire Coach" it's not going to sit well with them. As has been said everyone is allowed to voice their opinion it just gets a little ridiculous when so called school supporters take it to such extreme negative levals. As has been mentioned they were picked to finish 7th - not that we have to accept that as inevitable, but it does say that based on where we are as a team right now we have some building to do - sure it's okay to feel we should finish higher but when it doesn't happen what's the purpose of going insultingly balistic on the players and team publicly? I guess the answer to that is you feel it is your right to post -which it is, just as it is mine - but it appears if you are not willing to go negative with the minions you will be mocked along with the team and school. All I've ever tried to communicate is that I don't think it is productive or supportive of the school or team to be cynical, negative and insulting on a public forum. And I guess here I am in the minority. .

Actually most schools have a flier they make readily available to alumni that spells out what you can and can't do. You pretty much can't do anything. You can't even walk up to a high school senior in your own home town and say UND is a great school. that's a violation so I think we can assume that Lakes is violating NCAA rules if he is doing any kind of communciations with any high school seniors - DLSioux I would say if you know how to submit it do it - also you gonna be there on the 9th I'm bringing chili.

My bad you guys got it right, this tough season means we won't get any quality recruits, (even if they were interested the staff is so clueless they don't know who to recruit), the staff and UND admin needs to hear trash talk from you to know what is best for the program, so keep trashing the team, the coaches the players you are spot on genuises, beat down anyone who has a different opinion, make fun of your fellow UND fans and their postings every chance you get as that is a sure way to make sure only like-minded rubes post here and of course there is only one right opinion, yours. I bow to your intelligence and class. I'm sure I'll get to enjoy your posts in hockey and basketball once the team loses a game or two and every year football doesn't meet your expecations. Keep up the good work sharing your support for UND sports programs and their student athletes in your own special way.

Oh god I'm being pulled down...the revelation was that this team just isn't very good (I knew they were average and no one expected them to roll through their top 10 schedule), no revelations that Fire Muss threads, insults, jokes at players expense are valuable or show any signs of intelligence.
-
I appreciate the intelligent reparte.
-
Nice how my point continues to be proven here.
-
First of all if you believe that it is productive to post name calling, jokes at UND and it's players expense and negative posts then I got nothing for you. Also there really is no discussion here as everytime someone posts a positive message saying things like - give it time, it was the toughest schedule in the country for a young team, freshman quarterbacks make freshman mistakes, How do you know what goes on in the locker room, calling for a coaches head isn't going to help the program or stop comparing us to other programs - the responses are "So you're happy with losing" "You must be Mussman's best friend", " or "If the only way to make a change is to go negative so be it", etc My comments are based on my opinion (which seems to be only allowed here if you agree with the minions) that you can have intelligent, respectful conversations about positive change and it doesn't have to include name calling, sarcasim, unfounded rumors etc. I never said Mussman should keep his job - I said that is up to UND and I don't think it does the program anygood to have a thread calling for the coaches head. If a change is needed there are highly paid, well educated professionals at UND whose job it is to make that decision. So is it okay to have a hundred page thread calling for the coaches head - sure - do I think it does the program any good or will result in anything positive - nope - just my opinion which is usually beat down and met with immature sarcasim. As has been shared by the Fire Mussman Crowd - "everyone is entitled to their opinion - if it agrees with mine."
-
Wait a minute - so you are saying you should only post in threads that you agree with - that's not what has been written here previously "Everyone is entitled their opinion" "this is the place to have discussions." Got it - guess that only goes if the posters agree with what you are posting.

My bad, guess I'm the only one here that isn't smarter than Faison. Thanks for all I've learned here including: - Losing teams have no hope of recruiting their way out of a bad season. - If your team is having a losing season it's okay to bash them insistently in public forums - If you see something on the sidelines it's proof the coach has lost control of the team - If a coaching staff isn't jumping up and down on the sidelines it's proof they are bad coaches. - It's okay to call out individual student athletes and write about how bad they are in a public forum - Negativism, criticism, jokes poking fun at the team, sarcasm are all acceptable ways of showing you really care about your team - The administration at UND has no clue they need the guidance of chat rooms to see the way to a brighter future. - True fans always have at least one foot off the bandwagon at all times - A "Fire the Coach" thread is the best way to show that you truly care and support your team. I could go on but you all know the list better than I do. Sorry for taking your time away from writing all those emails and leaving all those phone messages for Faison. You better also get started on your Fire Hak messages for the first time the hockey team loses two games in a row.

So there is an example of the coaching staff holding players accountable. Just one example true - but we don't know what goes on in the locker room. Muss had a twitter pumping up the redshirts yesterday so perhaps the message is getting through - although if they read here and believe it they are probably assuming he's getting fired so they probably don't care what he says or does.
-
The Sacramento game was my revelation that this year and this team is a disappointment. Feel sorry for the seniors who toughed it our during the transition and are now getting trashed by their own fans here. Noticed at the EW game that the Red Shirts were sitting in the stands - is that something new or a result of their antics on the sidelines? This is the place to vent but I think when it sinks to making fun of the team, talking smack - hell some of the posts from the "Fans" here are as bad as any smack from the FU trolls - not sure what purpose that provides. Vent but at least respect your school and remember they're just student athletes. And no matter what you say prospective athletes and their parents are coming here and reading this and while it is just a small fraction of the total fan base it does send a message and set a tone. YES - I get it that they can get it elsewhere but why would you want to contribute to the negativity and possibly be the "Fan" that posts something that changes a recruits mind.
-
Except for the fact that there is a "Fire someone" thread started every year here. I'm not satisfied but I believe that Faison has things under control and definitely isn't motivated by threads like this - I know many here are just waiting for attendance at Nov. 9th to say I told you so - forgetting that every year that weekend is the lowest attendance for the year - I'll let you figure out why. Still haven't read any post that supports how this thread could lead to "positive" change.
-
Please enlighten me on the value of this thread for UND and the football program and how it might create any kind of positive change..
-
So you're saying you agree that the way to show support for a program is to create threads that are unending insults, put-downs and jokes about UND's football program, players and coaches and that this is the way to make sure the administration takes notice and figures out that those who are the real geniuses with the best interest of UND are lactually urking in chat rooms spewing idiocracy behind imaginary names?
-
Yah everyone knows that top notch ADs got there by taking advice from chat rooms and emails. Unless your message has a check attached it's not going to be taken as anything but SPAM.
-
Weber's board is just like every fan board they've got their 20-somethings with nothing better to do - dang wouldn't you expect to read positive comments and optimism on a school's fan board - what would you expect to read - pessimism, smack on the players and coaches, negative jokes about their own team, insistent caling for firings? Well if that's what they are looking for then they should be love our football threads.
-
So with that logic a team that has a bad season would never be able to turn it around. There are plenty of talented kids out there looking for a great education in fields that UND offers (ok I now understand why that wouldn't be considered in this thread), what about wanting to be a part of a growing program and helping turn things around, playing in the Big Sky - the football category on SiouxSports has become a cesspool of negativity driven by a bunch of fair weather fans that hide behind fake names and make fun of student athletes, diss a program they should be supporting no matter what and call for guys jobs. You can bash me but I won't see it because I'm not coming back here - God GROW UP!

Maybe: He was there to get tips on how to avoid DUIs. He should have taken some advice from Beck on how to walk away from the police. He was on his way to Best Buy several players told him the football team gets a great discount there. Just shows that the Fargo police have it out for anyone connected with FU football.
