  1. Living a lie during spring ball.
  2. Iowa kid so makes sense. Ready to support those that keep their commitment. Integrity matters.
  3. I am open to other explanations and insights.
  4. All the more reason they should be committing to the school and not a specific coach.
  5. Any insights into how this goes down? A coach sits across from a player they have spent two years supporting and developing in their academic and athletic life. Kid says everything is fine one day and the next the coach sees them in the portal? So the kid was lying and plotting the whole time for a bag of silver. One injury, or they don't meet expectations, and that new school, which sees them as a piece of meat, will throw them on the scrap heap and have a new bag for the next one on the list. Integrity, honesty, friendships, gone for a bag of silver that will be gone in a year.
  6. Jury is out, but I am fine with SU taking Landry, revealed a character flaw we do not need. Offensive was good but did not feel it was progressing. Change us good.
  7. Thinking the academic standards are a but easier with the Cowboys than the Tommies. This might raise the GPA for both UND and Wyoming.
  8. Where are you placing the blame?
  9. Gonna miss that family.
  10. In the overall picture of college hockey which of these are overrated or underrated: Culture Facilities Fan base Traveling fans Star players School location Private chef Puck luck Hot goalie Feel free to add on...
  11. It wasn't until one guy made it that way.
  12. This thread is about as political as it gets.
  13. It's put up or shut up time. Too bad there is no way for SiouxSports to be able to verify participation in the NIL so a badge/icon could be added to our profile. Would lend some credibility to discussions.
  14. A player who's willing to go after loose balls and rebound - something that has been missing on this team.
  15. It's obviously not showing the results you want, but It's also obvious that it is not a valid poll, it just shows a snapshot of people reading at the time with motivation to click a button. It will provide a little fodder for a future article I'm sure.
  16. Honest question - if the football team had the resources the hockey team had - would it make a difference (I think we could assume if they had those resources the staff would be upgraded).
  17. Done with him, he leaves after great support from UND his freshman year, sits for two years, grovels back, then leaves again. Really have to wonder what kind of an education he is getting for his future. Seems to be all about him.
  18. Predictable that there will be more players entering the portal - if it's not their decision they are probably not in any hurry.
  19. What about the NIT becoming a Mid-Major tournament? They probably don't have the vision for that.
  20. I'm willing to give the student athletes that were recruited in the past three years the benefit of the doubt - it's not like the cupboard is bare. Yes it will be hard to look past what has transpired with Bubba, hard to understand that the Administration either didn't hear the rumbles or didn't care about them. I guess we will learn from the portal what the current student athletes think about the extension.
  21. Based on the positive comments that were posted under the Twitter/Facebook posting of the extension I would say it will do just fine. I plan to support it because I want the program to be able to compete.
  22. Can we put to rest any thought that the comments and opinions on this site have any influence on the football program.
  23. I seem to remember he was from the south and his resume showed lots of recruiting experience. I was actually surprise he did not get the job - but quicklyi realized the deck was stacked against him for several reasons.
  24. A coach was hired to take over a struggling team. The coach who left met with them privately and presented three numbered envelopes. “Open these if you run into serious trouble,” he said. Well, after the first year the team was way down and the new coach was catching a lot of heat. they began to panic but then remembered the envelopes. They went to the drawer and took out the first envelope. The message read, “Blame your predecessor.” The new coach called a press conference and explained that the previous coach had left them with a real mess and it was taking a bit longer to clean it up than expected, but everything was on the right track. Satisfied with the comments, everyone responded positively. A couple years went by and the team continued to struggle. Having learned from his previous experience, the coach quickly opened the second envelope. The message read, “Reorganize.” So they fired key people and made roster changes. This was met with support for the effort. Another year passed and the team was still short on wins. The coach would have to figure out how to get through another tough off season. They went to their office, closed the door and opened the third envelope. The message said, “Prepare three envelopes.”
  25. Flip left because UND did not offer the grad school major he needed, easier to ask a little tougher questions when the reason for leaving is money. Agreed it's his life, his choice and we can assume conversations were probably already happening before the season was over.
