  1. He only writes about UND when he finds a negative spin.
  2. If SDSU makes it to Frisco this might be the year to take it in. Especially if Montana State is the opponent as there is another North Dakota connection then. If Moo U makes it I wouldn't drive that far to experience their attitudes.
  3. You really want to give Landry credit for stepping in down south?
  4. #1 I'm fine with what we found #2 couldn't crack the line up, gave up on his team mates. #3 miss him, we'll see how things are in two years #4 good riddance, those that know said it was no big loss.
  5. So if USD was where we are, or even less, about 3-4 years ago what did they do with their roster to build it up to a top five school in three years? I just took a quick look at their 2024 roster and it seems they have a good mix of their own recruits and some portal guys. Getting the QB dropdown from Minnesota was key, but It does seem like we bring in fewer portal guys every year - not sure if that is by design or if they are choosing to go elsewhere. I do see the value of building our own foundation, but USD seems to have found the right mix. I'm also confident that Vermillion does not have that much more to offer than Grand Forks.
  6. I would bet the coaching staff isn't that excited about them - hard to keep the team focused, takes time away from their usual schedule, game really means nothing in the big picture. It's for the fans and as long as the fans support it they will keep doing it. It builds financial support from alumni. Personally, I am 0-2 in the games I've gone to and while Austin is appealing, I'm going to pass this time. I've been to Austin and it will be a great venue for the fans.
  7. UND just hosted an open house for the Memorial Village. They shared that all student athletes will benefit from it. Player-parents, recruits and their parents and current players are excited and energized. Parents of current players are sharing that UND is the best-looking campus in the conference with so much new construction, facilities improvements and focus on their kids getting a great education. Meanwhile there are a dozen Debbie Downers on here that are clueless about what others are seeing. Will we lose some to the portal - no question. It's the new reality. But what UND is building for academics will no doubt build its athletics.
  8. Probably looking at 8-4 with no ranked wins - guessing that would not fly here. I realize they are not eligible for the playoffs, but even if they were they would be bubble.

    SDSU @ UND

waiting for the post game rants about attendance a reflection of fans losting interest when the reality is deer opener s always the least attended game of the year. Oh, and anyone who boos the team off the field is classless.
  10. I realize for some it's all about the sports, but UND has far from "ceded" the state of ND to SU in the most important area which is academics.
  11. I'm just saying they aren't the armchair ADs that frequent here. At this stage in their life they are enjoying the journey - not saying they are satisfied or don't want more, just saying they aren't thinking they are smarter than UND.
  12. He won't hear from me because I have him blocked. Of course I am disappointed, it would take a miracle to get to 7-5 and it still might not be enough. As I have said many times it's still just a game played by students. You can choose how it affects your life. I bleed green and white (and pink) but never gonna call for someone to be fired.
  13. Four hours before gametime and not a tailgater in sight.
  14. 10 hours behind the wheel arrived in Terre Haute, ready to eat their food, drink their beer, kiss their women and beat their team! Okay I am fine with just #1, #2 and #4.
  15. What does it take to see that in a person - a psychology degree, esp, observing from a bicycle? Asking for a friend.
  16. As has been demonstrated only Montana gets a pass on lack of quality wins. No way we get in at 7-5.
  17. Go to a booster lunch - they all have white hair and fat wallets, he's not going anywhere.
  18. I'll be optimistic and realistic - we are the better team.
  19. We beat YSU last time we were there. I witnessed it in person not from an armchair, you should try it.
  20. He doesn't do it for you, he does it for the players and they seem to be pretty fired up about it.
  21. I could watch that touchdown sneak a dozen times. Both defensive ends hit him one yard out and he still broke it for the TD.
  22. Youngstown State is one of the better road wins we've had. I was there two years ago when their team was good (believe they were among first out) and we beat them with a blocked punt for a TD. Outdoors and crowd was nothing that really gave them much of a home field advantage, although it is the largest stadium the conference. Quirky that their claim to fame is their stadium is the tallest in FCS. Tailgating was fun and very friendly but we were warned about not parking in some areas around the field (for security reasons).
  23. So now the geniuses have moved from wanting to see more of Jerry to predicting he will leave. All from the comfort of their Lazy Boy. It is not that difficult to get insights into players, but it requires actually going to tailgating and perhaps a road trip. I'm not going to share any conversations, but will say a lot of the conjecture here is laughable.
  24. So you would have passed on him?
  25. What we need is someone like this: earned Wisconsin Sports Network's Dave Krieg Award, given to the state's top senior quarterback … Named the 2022 Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Year … Two-time selection to the First Team All-State, All-Region and All-Conference Teams …
