UND now considering taking the role of the bigger man and discussing the possibility of the first two games beng in Fargo just perpetuates the never-ending inferiority complex of FU. If this comes to pass, once again their insecure egos will be able to say "See now THIS really shows that we are better." Even though UND is and always will be The Flagship, continues to be #1 in the areas that really matter (hint it's not sports). What's ironic is they missed the chance to crush UND Football with the unlevel playing field they held because of the transition. All they have is mythical when it comes to football it never happened on the field and even having what many consider to be the best sports year in FU history they went 0-6 instate. UND Alums with lots of money must really want this game and I'm okay with that because obviously it is going to keep their donations coming. Otherwise UND wouldn't be considering it - follow the money it always leads to the answer.

What I can't figure out is why the administrators haven't banned the Bi-Son trolls. They violate rules of posting and respectful conversation regularly and bring nothing of value to any discussion. They are anti-UND, highjack every thread and know nothing about our team or our school. Outside perspective is one thing but allowing the never ending trolling of these antagonists is just a poor reflection on the way this board is administered. Just ban them. There are many loyal UND fans who no longer come here because of them - which right now has the trolls wetting their pants with glee.

The reason I stated it as "It's already a policy - unspoken perhaps" is the way it was shared with me. I was wearing a "Once a Sioux, always a Sioux" shirt and was doing some business on campus. The UND employee said she liked my shirt and i told her I could get her one. She volunteered that they weren't allowed to wear Fighting Sioux logo wear while on the job because someone might assume they were "pro-nickname". It was in Wilkerson Hall. Now I didn't ask if that was a campus-wide policy and just left it at that. I had another woman purchase a Once a Sioux, always a Sioux shirt and she shared she was an employee at UND and knew she would never be able to wear it while on the job - so yes just hear-say I will admit.
-
I was mostly joking but there have already seen instances shared where buildings prohibit the wearing of specific icons etc. You need to chat with Mafia Man he will scare the "I have the freedom to wear anything I want" daylights out of you. I realize that UND admin has always said they will never prohibit the wearing of Fighting Sioux clothing but then came the gathering of 100 on campus this spring and one of their demands was to remove and prohibit the Fighting Sioux logo from campus. It's already a policy (unspoken perhaps) that UND employees cannot wear the logo while at work.

I don't live in North Dakota but have started wearing my Fighitng Sioux clothing more often - since I'm told very soon it will be against the law to wear it . Every time out I have been approched by somone - alumni, parents of current students, interested by-standers and asked: is it still possible to purchase Fighting Sioux clothing (yes how many do you want), questions about when a new nickname will be chosen (no time soon) and comments about how stupid and unfair the NCAA was about the nickname (this usually prompts a brief dissertation from me).

http://www.lcsun-news.com/las_cruces-sports/ci_26016917/nmsu-basketball-terrel-de-rouen-signs-north-dakota There's a lot to like in this story - if they can pull it together this might be more of a reload year than a rebuilding one.

Thunder Gods actually has a Norwegian background with Thor being the Norwegian god of thunder - and as shared the sound of thunder makes a great sfx at games for goals, touchdowns, etc. Gotta think that someone will come out of the woodwork and be against using the name god.

In the past I could see myself intersted in attending a game on a weekend that UND is out of town - not cheering for them but just for the experience - but not now - just too tainted from the trolls. (About 20 years ago I attended an FU/Morningside game, Morningside returned a kick off to go up 7-0 early and I cheered - then my buddy gave me the look and I sat on my hands as FU routed them the rest of the way.)
-
No way to measure this but what percentage of fans attending FU football games would you guess are neutal, ie; have no affiliation with the university - not an alumn, kids didn't go, etc. I'm thinking that percentage isn't that high (however those would be the first to fall off the wagon also).
-
Okay I'll give you that - sure would be more fun if every thread didn't have to turn into a pissing match. This is a UND fan site, just like other "rivals" there are gonna be posts poking at our rivals - every poke doesn't need a bison fan to come over here and set the record straight - it's just a discussion among UND fans and a little fun at the expense of rivals.
-
Still more proof that FU fans have moved on.

I may have to buy a program this year. Every player that was featured on the 2013 football season poster is gone - some to graduation, others transferred.

At the end of the day it's about getting him a good education and solid foundation for his future - I think UND is a great midwestern university for accomplishing that.

Googled his name and this comes up - hoping all the kid needs is a fresh start. http://www.lcsun-news.com/ci_24006970/new-mexico-state-basketball-suspends-guard-terrel-de

She should be expelled from the University of North Dakota along with everyone else who was at the party.

Grabowski promoted, Horner takes over operations role
CMSioux replied to UND Fan's topic in Men's Basketball
UND has gotten great talent out of Iowa over the years - the guy's a winner and winners bring a winner's mentality - looking good. -
Welcome to ND football - assuming you will be attending some home games and can walk around the tailgating site - we'll have something ready for you. Oh by the way the last home game we tailgated it was around 30 degrees.

If he ain't on the US Farm Report he ain't worth watchin.

Right on schedule Jan.

Had to throw in the last sentence to give the FU trolls their daily opportunity to defend FU's honor.

I think I speak for many when I say that I have no interest in what sports NDSU should/should not add to their program. There is so much to look forward to in UND sports in the coming years to focus on. Whether or not the two teams end up playing in football also is not as high on my list as it was 10 years ago - our football schedule is once again one of the best in the country. The history books show that UND owned SU the last decade they played, owned them over the course of the rivalry that book can close.
-
Like FU doesn't fire coaches - just another day defending the honor of FU. Now who's going to make sure the player/criminals "get their day in court"?
-
So B.D can you share the infactuation with the Big Sky and the need to have a Big Sky conference meeting thread at BV - other than the ongoing need to feel good by putting UND down. Do you think there would ever be a MVFC Meeting thread in Sioux Sports?

I knew Roger when he was a young, single graduate assistant at UND (along with Rob Bollinger)- full of wise cracks he had a great sense of humor and was well liked by the players and fellow coaches- grew into an offensive genuis and great coach.
