  1. MOA to Target Field - 39 minutes MOA to Metrodome - 30 minutes Feel free to add it up yourself: http://metrotransit....e-route-55.aspx 45+ isn't out of the question to get from MOA to Target Field, but there's no way you made it to the Metrodome in 15 minutes.
  2. I've heard a lot of comments about limited peripheral vision and that one reason for the 3/4 or 1/2 shield is for increased visibility. So with that in mind, it was a perfect analogy.
  3. Why don't we make cars safer by removing a bunch of the glass windows and just having solid metal sides and rear? After all, you still have the windshield to look out of to see where you're going, right?
  4. The joke doesn't really work when gas in Grand Forks is more expensive than gas in the Twin Cities. Plus is not just about the $15. Its just as much about the time spent going to the games.
  5. So "taking off the blinders" and changing your viewpoint is worse than sticking to a harmful viewpoint?
  6. St Thomas University in St Paul? Their undergrad enrollement is about 6,200.
  7. Maybe that's on purpose...
  8. I believe they won't put regionals on campus anymore.
  9. Hate to agree with a Gopher fan, but this is the truth. It'd be hard for the NCAA to turn down the opportunity. And UM would be silly not to put in a bid since they almost surely make money on the event every time. Probably can't say that about most regionals.
  10. Only if they change it so that only people who attended the University of North Dakota could actually wear Fighting Sioux apparel.
  11. I think you're right. I knew that happened to somebody while I was in school and Lee Goren was before my time so I knew it happened to somebody else, just couldn't remember who.
  12. Unless I misunderstood what I heard on the radio, Vikings players pay a combined $20 million in state income taxes each year. The math I just did says they pay about $7 million a year. $91 million payroll for this season, and a 7.85% state tax rate. I know it's more complicated than this, but it's close. I'm not going to run the math for the other sports teams so I don't know how it compares to the numbers previously stated, but it's something to consider. Just thought I'd share.
  13. I thought he ran out of suggestions...
  14. While we're speculating.... When I read about Hakstol's new contract and how much money was allocated for the two assistant coaches, I was surprised how little it would mean for each assistant compared to the head coach. Could it be that Hakstol is taking the "fall" for Eades simply wanting more money and leaving because of it?
  15. What do you have to lose by voting yes? It's not costing you anything. It's not harming your school. Why vote no just to to laugh at other people?
  16. It's generally accepted that a "cartoon" is "intended for satire, caricature or humor". Ben Brien's art was not meant as any of those.
  17. Sounds a lot like last year's captain...
  18. It's far from a done deal. Portland only has the rights to talk to him. If Portland strikes a deal with him, then Portland has to make another deal with Everett to officially transfer is rights to them. As far as what we know right now, he hasn't made up his mind. Everybody is just assuming he's given up on UND.
  19. This is probably why people think he would stay at forward: http://twitter.com/#...660570433032193
  20. That was the first year BSU was in the WCHA. So that Bemidji visit was a conference series. What would be interesting to see is how many non-conference series' they played there prior to 2010. According to Mariucci, it was 2000 or 2001.
  21. Did I miss something where Seth said he didn't want to come to UND, or are people just assuming that since rights to "talk" to him got picked up by Portland?
  22. I can't imagine it's a lot of work to apply for a medical redshirt, so why not? At least he's eligible for rookie of the year now.
  23. I didn't see that post. That makes sense, then, that UND would have wanted to put in extra money. Thanks for the explanation.
  24. Then UND shouldn't have put up the money. As far as I understand, it wasn't part of the agreement when the building was built, but they decided to give the money anyway and they're getting nothing out of it except Big Sky logos. Big deal. Ok, they're getting better turf which will probably help recruiting, and will definitely help the players, but that's what the Alerus Center was supposed to put in after 11 years anyway, right?
  25. I remember going down there a couple times for football games and I also enjoyed their downtown/boardwalk area.
