Only if they change it so that only people who attended the University of North Dakota could actually wear Fighting Sioux apparel.

I think you're right. I knew that happened to somebody while I was in school and Lee Goren was before my time so I knew it happened to somebody else, just couldn't remember who.

Is Kurt Zellers UND's worst alumni?!?!
BigGreyAnt41 replied to siouxfan512's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Unless I misunderstood what I heard on the radio, Vikings players pay a combined $20 million in state income taxes each year. The math I just did says they pay about $7 million a year. $91 million payroll for this season, and a 7.85% state tax rate. I know it's more complicated than this, but it's close. I'm not going to run the math for the other sports teams so I don't know how it compares to the numbers previously stated, but it's something to consider. Just thought I'd share. -
I thought he ran out of suggestions...

While we're speculating.... When I read about Hakstol's new contract and how much money was allocated for the two assistant coaches, I was surprised how little it would mean for each assistant compared to the head coach. Could it be that Hakstol is taking the "fall" for Eades simply wanting more money and leaving because of it?

What do you have to lose by voting yes? It's not costing you anything. It's not harming your school. Why vote no just to to laugh at other people?

It's generally accepted that a "cartoon" is "intended for satire, caricature or humor". Ben Brien's art was not meant as any of those.

Sounds a lot like last year's captain...

It's far from a done deal. Portland only has the rights to talk to him. If Portland strikes a deal with him, then Portland has to make another deal with Everett to officially transfer is rights to them. As far as what we know right now, he hasn't made up his mind. Everybody is just assuming he's given up on UND.
-
This is probably why people think he would stay at forward: http://twitter.com/#...660570433032193

That was the first year BSU was in the WCHA. So that Bemidji visit was a conference series. What would be interesting to see is how many non-conference series' they played there prior to 2010. According to Mariucci, it was 2000 or 2001.

Did I miss something where Seth said he didn't want to come to UND, or are people just assuming that since rights to "talk" to him got picked up by Portland?
-
I can't imagine it's a lot of work to apply for a medical redshirt, so why not? At least he's eligible for rookie of the year now.
-
I didn't see that post. That makes sense, then, that UND would have wanted to put in extra money. Thanks for the explanation.
-
Then UND shouldn't have put up the money. As far as I understand, it wasn't part of the agreement when the building was built, but they decided to give the money anyway and they're getting nothing out of it except Big Sky logos. Big deal. Ok, they're getting better turf which will probably help recruiting, and will definitely help the players, but that's what the Alerus Center was supposed to put in after 11 years anyway, right?

I remember going down there a couple times for football games and I also enjoyed their downtown/boardwalk area.

The results of my five minutes of searching say July 1st and officially withdrawn from school as long as it's the 4th summer after your draft year. Also, "The team will have a 30-day window of exclusivity once Schultz declared his intention to leave school, which could happen after exams are concluded May 19.". Almost everything I'm finding, by the way, when searching for this is in regards to what Justin Schultz will do.
-
Or that person just assumes he's going MJ because there's an MJ team that drafted him.
-
And according to one of the comments on that blog post, Koules will be going the MJ route.

I thought the "Rowney and MacWilliam returning" news was the "few more things from a couple more Sioux players". Didn't that info come out after Nelson's info?
-
If that's the case, then REA certainly shouldn't have to remove a single Sioux head from the entire arena. REA isn't owned by UND anymore than Xcel is owned by UM. The rule is that the "hostile and abusive" logos can't exist at NCAA post-season events. Not simply that the "offending" school can't display, but that it shouldn't be displayed AT ALL. The NCAA shouldn't have awarded the regional to The X if they were going to display Sioux logos. By doing so they are being even more hypocritical.

Looks like they need an editor for that. I found five errors just in that short article.

Another botched icing call by the wonderful refs

Seriously? Before the game is over? Plus I didn't realize Hakstol controlled player injuries.
