  1. More on the O'Bannon litigation ... The storm that’s slowly rolling toward Indianapolis quietly gained strength this week with the filing of several devastating documents in a federal court in California. If it stays on course, it’s going to hit with biblical force, reducing the National Collegiate Athletic Association to a heap of rubble. O’Bannon and his lawyers are also asking for something else: They want all current and future college athletes to be able to make licensing deals of their own. It’s short yardage from there to the NCAA’s doomsday scenario: schools bidding for the services of student- athletes. O’Bannon’s response to the NCAA may be the most powerful case ever assembled against the association’s propaganda machine. Among other things, it systematically dismantles the NCAA’s argument that the vast majority of its members lose money on sports. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-02/the-lawsuit-that-could-bring-down-the-ncaa.html
  2. It's actually a pretty cool group with a great mission, from what I've read.
  3. http://alipstickfeminist.blogspot.com/2013/04/dear-carolyn-luby.html Sometimes it takes one woman to really take another down a peg or two.
  4. Agreed. If a database can be argued to violate the Second Amendment, any other restrictions on firearms sales to criminals, felons, lunatics and children must also fail since those restrictions are more onerous. The same goes for restrictions on weapons-types in general.
  5. I'm in. 1-Black and 1-Gray, w/ moniker. Thanks.

    Ed Schultz

He's always been an idiot, from his daze as a sportscaster in Fargo through now.

    Championship

Hot goalie, bad ice, rotten officials, sun was in our eyes, etc. Yale played very well throughout the tourney and elevated their game when they needed it most. I'd like to think Hak & co. might take a few lessons from Yale.

    Carlson obviously hates Fargo.
  9. Actually, I'd submit it starts with recruiting. He can get the "stars", but for whatever reason(s), he has a hard time getting them to gel and play like they should. And it's not just this year's team.
  10. Isn't that the coaches' job? Haks' teams may have NHL-caliber talent, but they seem to be undercut by chronic UNDerachivement when it really counts.
  11. Nobody is panicking. We just expect a lot every game.
  12. Well someone should.
  13. Maybe, just maybe, Haks will explain they may be golfing tomorrow if they don't pick it up.
  14. Not too impressed with our jump or lack thereof
  15. Heh. When I was a kid in GF, we had to fight for ice time outdoors. These guys need to toughen up.

  17. If Clueless Al's gambit pays off, the possible loss of accreditation could also impact those of us with degrees from UND, or any other state school. Accreditation is a requirement for a number of professional licensing and certifications as well. And just try getting into a reputable graduate or professional degree program with an unaccredited degree. If the state thinks it has a problem keeping educated people in the state now the "brain drain" would only accelerate.
  18. Clueless Al could care less. He's only interested in his political "career". Everyhing else be damned.
  19. I doubt Hak will ever "get it done" ... that is win a Title. He's coasting, and it shows on the ice.
  20. They were saving themselves for a final March surge? Honestly, at this point in the season if we can't put away Tech in our own barn, what the hell is wrong with the program?
  21. Well at least one team came to play this weekend ...
