I see it as Hak conducting business as usual. The fact he suspended captains should send a strong message to everybody else. Not every program (read: 'su) needs a jury verdict, appeal and a general wailing and gnashing of teeth to suspend players for simply screwing up. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20120918/SPORTS0207/120918004/UNI-suspends-senior-basketball-guard-Anthony-James-for-3-games?Frontpage&nclick_check=1

I'd suggest Fargo adopt the name "the Road Apple" to celebrate its agrarian roots, and the fact 'su's administration seems to have a bumper crop on its hands, and face.

Blame Steve Jobs. He had issues with Adobe from years ago. I believe you can get some apps for the iPhone/iPad that allow you to view Flash-based materials, but I have no idea how well they work.

They were perennial favorites for a national title and build a helluva brand along the way. Then you had the rise of schools like Miami and others that placed less emphasis on academics than ND. So ND was gamely riding on the Rockne, Parshegian, Devine, and Holtz legacies, while also dealing with guys like Willingham and Weis the past decade or so. Not really a big ND fan, but it's nice to see a school with higher academic standards have a solid contender on the field. Oh yeah, and money.

Bloomberg is reporting ND is going to the ACC in "all sports" except football. Apparently, hockey didn't make the cut in the ACC.
-
In some states, a few extra dollars from each plate goes to the respective schools. Is that how it works in ND? If so, you would think it would be another revenue source for the schools that they'd push. Around here, I think the Iowa and Iowa State plates are nearly equal to the regular plates in popularity. if I lived in ND, I'd probably spring for UND plates.

No LOIC around here ...

No, it's because you can't see beyond your own piss yellow and green glasses. Obstructing one's right and ability to vote in this nation is fundamentally wrong, and I don't care how it's done. If the ND legislature has any real balls perhaps they'd move this crime from a misdemeanor to a felony in the next session.

Boy, are you really that thick? Your players never gave the measures the chance to make it that far and let the people of North Dakota cast a vote. They're no better than the thugs who stuff ballot boxes in Russia today, or the KKK who threatened blacks who sought to vote in the 1960s. And the irony must be pretty damn thick with the last one.
-
The unfettered right to vote is a fundamental right of this nation. Not sure why you and your ilk continue to downplay that right, regardless of the relative merits or likelihood of success of the affected measures. And a lof of good people died defending that right.

They may just make it a required class for every student at 'su since the administration seems to take the subject so lightly.
-
Agreed. The 'su piece has been a bonus.

I blame Bohl and Taylor slithering in from bisonville and posting under various names, until they leave in a huff.

Spirit Lake Tribe Files Appeal In Lawsuit Against The NCAA
ScottM replied to Goon's topic in UND Nickname
EMU dropped their own name without the NC$$ holding a gun to their head. I doubt they'll make a stink of it, unless somebody whines which sounds likely. On the flip-side, if UND wishes to keep its trademarks of the Sioux moniker it will have to use it "in commerce" occasionally. -
Well, nobody has ever accused the 'su faithful of being too bright, but they are deeply envious. /cue a blubbering herd retort in 3 ... 2 ...

It's only a big deal when they're not starters. Can't wait until Bohl benches some guy for missing practice or a team meeting since he's set such a low standard of conduct going forward.
-
Sort of like your posts here? Perhaps you should go back to Bisonville and pass the hat for lawyer fees.
-
Aside from a number of strawman arguments, what's your point?
-
Fixed.

A number of NFL teams do look at a player's "character" before drafting them. Nobody really needs a Pac Man Jones or Plaxio Burress getting negative attention.
-
I don't see the benefit of enabling criminal behavior by allowing athletes to play/travel on the taxpayer's dime, I don't care if they're starters or pine riders. At the very least I'd expect them to sit for at least a game, even before the cases have concluded and perhaps more later. Teams suspend players for missing practice, skipping class or sneaking out of the team hotel. Can't imagine why admitted criminal conduct doesn't rise to that level. At the very least it might also violate 'su's student code of conduct as well.

Actually, fraud/forgery are considered crimes of "dishonesty" and viewed pretty seriously by a variety of industries, regardless of when they occurred and even if they are misdemeanors, since they reflect on the integrity of the person. Since none of these idiots will make the NFL, they had better hope they graduate with a 4.0 in chemical engineering. The fact the 'su adminstration seems to poo-poo the issue and the potential impacts on their players shows their integrity, or lack thereof.
