Agreed. The only place I would use the state outline with the logo is on playing surfaces. It would look good at midfield, center court and center ice.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season

T mobile is also in a much more convenient location. -
Alternate the divisions for the 4 thru 7 games each year, hosting for those doesn't matter much any way. Have the 1 thru 3 games at Mile High Stadium in Denver as part of Big Sky Playoff Showdown weekend. Have the games at 11, 3 and 7, with the Championship last. You would also have quality games for your other playoff contenders to wrap up the regular season. With six schools, you would have the potential for a good turnout and you would generally know well in advance if your team was going to make the Showdown, so travel plans would be easier. Denver is a pretty easy flight for all schools as well, and it would draw some exposure to the league, and also be convenient for Root Sports to cover.

Gotta assume if it was in Phoenix, ASU would host.

Which makes you wonder why a QB isn't on the shopping list.

Definitely something to consider. Also there are several Minneapolis-based league sponsors. Don't know what they pay/offer up, but those could have value throughout the season and not just on a weekend. No reason for the league to throw itself at the X, that facility made a choice on which events to take, and in hindsight they chose poorly. If they make an offer to the league that makes sense financially, and will help grow the event and the leagues coffers and improve the current situation, great. But if not, while not perfect the Target Center is a more than viable host for the Frozen Faceoff. And if there continues to be improvements made at that facility and work with league, I think they will stay. I would love to see the NCHC should work with Target Center to do College Hockey Challenge type event, with all eight school playing teams from another conference. Have games at 11, 2, 5, and 8 on Friday and Saturday and make it a big deal each season. You could rotate the opposing conference, but probably play WCHA schools every other year, with the eastern leagues and the Big 10 in the alternating seasons. It would be great for the fans and good for pairwise in creating more cross pollination in scheduling. Would also be another chance for the Target Center to work on its hockey operations and all the teams another game during the season to get used to the venue prior to the Frozen Faceoff.

I like that they are looking at getting nchc TV on Roku and other platforms. That would be a great improvement.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing nchc going to a similar format. Or maybe have the three western leagues combine and hold there championship games over a weekend at the X. Hold one on Friday night at 7, one on Saturday at 2 an one at 6. Would be fun to see three Champs crowned and also get a nice preview of the ncaas.

What do the current WAC schools get for creating a FBS league that the would then be kicked out of? Will they get a share of the FBS riches for making this happen?

Curtis Murphy 2 time all America Wcha player of the year Has a ring Came in with coach Blais in 94 and helped usher in the Renaissance that has given us this prolonged era of success in UND hockey. A great defender while also ranking second in program history for goals by a blueliner.

Kinda hoping we replace Bemidji on the schedule soon. Of all the WCHA rivalries, that's not one I would have felt the need to continue. Once every couple of years sure, but not annually. Much rather play Mankato or Tech (especially Tech), which would both also be better for pair wise. I understand the proximity issue, but that series is not a traditional rivalry, and its not a competitive one. If we want to help the Beaver program, I'd rather we partner to bring in eastern non-conference teams, like the Colorado schools do with Air Force. That would also add more diversity to the schedule. -
Pretty sure there will be an award in the future for Brad for that piece. Great writing.

Midco should be looking at doing some kind of season in review video. Would need to get footage from CBS Sports and ESPN, but would definitely have a market for such a product. They also have all the coaches show content they could use to fill out a product in to the 1 hour to 75 minute range.

Juneau wasn't on the title team. But they did have Daren Puppa in goal.

Perfect for a St. Patrick's Day game at Frozen Faceoff. Might change our luck in that event.

No way. I'm thinking threepeat and finally passing michigan.

And that's what you play for when you come to North Dakota.

NORTH DAKOTA @ Quinnipiac - SATURDAY Gameday NCAA TITLE GAME

To do this to a great Quinnipiac team is truly impressive. The curse is lifted. -
Time for a new ending to this story. Hatty for the senior.

Why doesn't the Alerus host a hockey regional
nodakvindy replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Men's Hockey
Looks like the Carrier Dome at Syracuse. And I like the idea of Sioux Falls. Helps us expand our brand down there. I wouldn't mind seeing a tournament there in early season sponsored by Midco with us Mankato and some eastern teams. -
Knocking out hockey east is fine. Knocking out Big Ten is better.
