  1. SBHE on campus today for regular meeting. I have not seen official yet but hearing good things. Third highest official enrollment all time. Just over 15K
  2. You're the eff'n best, gueax. My thoughts exactly.
  3. But, boy, could he sling it.
  4. Haven’t seen FTE projections yet. Some of that granular data will be recorded dashboards in the coming weeks. I will keep an eye out. EDIT: With the surge in new freshmen (+428/ +29%) for fist day 2024, I would imagine a nice bump on FTE. UND’s first day headcount is already 550 students more than census day official count last year. This year’s first day head count would rank 5th highest all time at UND. Highest was 15,250 in 2012, if memory serves.
  5. First day 2024 = 14,724 + 863 or 6.23% over First day 2023 Last year UND gained 300+ between first day and fourth week census day.
  6. Only UND. The news will be good for us. No clue on anyone else. The President has been saying, as one single metric, that there are 400 more new freshman on campus compared to last year. We also had an 83% retention rate from fall 22 to fall 23 -- the highest ever recorded in NDUS history, and a 94% retention from fall 23 to spring 24. People just simply want to be a part of UND right now. Here is his State of the University Address from last Thursday. He talks enrollment starting at the 12:20 mark.
  7. This is what the email said from UND a couple weeks back: We have a limited number of tickets that we are selling in a block so all UND fans can be together. They are located in Section 41, if we fill that, we will move to sections H and J. All tickets are $75 + fees. My crew is a party of 13. We got ours earlier this summer. I heard there will be a healthy contingent of UND fans in Ames over Labor Day weekend.
  8. Plus Welcome Weekend at UND, a marathon in town, and Downtown Street Fair.
  9. Give him time. He’ll be a good one. He should be in line to get at least 4 games this season.
  10. They haven’t named anyone yet.
  11. I’l have to watch it again. I was so focused on the catch. All of the returning QBs have had pretty good arms and loft this fall; getting a clean pocket to throw and accuracy have been more of a challenge for them. For all 5 of the QBs for that matter. You’re right, though; should be fun!
  12. I thought I saw a tiny shift, too, but you know I am a glass half full guy!
  13. Haven't seen that from Dennis in a while. Very nice.
  14. Uber is thy friend.
  15. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/grand-forks-police-to-participate-in-dui-enforcement-campaign Aug. 23-25 would seem like a logical time period to do it if I was the Chief of Police. UND Welcome Weekend Marathon 2 x Zach Bryan shows at the Alerus. Downtown Grand Forks Street Fair Hmmm?
  16. See you there! We will be a party of 12.
  17. Exactly. Simon was the best “that day.” Thanks for reinforcing my point. At no point was it suggested that anyone is a lock for QB1 at this point in camp. That’s what fall camp, er, I mean, practice will determine.
  18. When I was at practice on Saturday, Simon was the best QB on the field that day, and that is nothing to be alarmed about. Athletic, savvy, good touch on passes, composed and not rushed in the pocket , and went through his progressions the best, moved safeties where he wanted them to go with glances and well timed ball fakes. Clearly looked like a qb who has been in the system for a while.
  19. I see what you did there.
  20. True. He has been a practice all star in the past but has tended to fade in game.
  21. Could make an argument to flip 7 and 8.
  22. You disagree? Floor is yours.
  23. Fair point.
  24. Yes, I get it. The whole conversation just baffled me. Jack Wright departure hurts a bit. From what little I've seen, read and heard this fall, Deng Deng is raw but instinctually has veteran tendencies, is super freakish athletically and has clearly benefitted from Bo's presence. It will be hard to keep his shirt intact this year -- especially given what's ahead of him on the depth chart and the new math in college football where NIL and loose portal rules means you may not have a gifted player for more than one year anyway. Here is where I rank the WRs after watching them in person: 1. Bo (pre season All American) 2. Deng (true freshman) 3. Tai (red shirt fresh) 4. Dennis (junior) 5. Kupfer (junior) 6. Keegan (true freshman) 7. Hakim (redshirt fresh) 8. DeMontagnac (junior) 9. Klein (senior) 10. Strandell (soph.) 11. Schaffner (junior) 12. Poncelot (red shirt fresh) 13. Gross (red shirt fresh)
  25. Whoa, tap the brakes. First, current WR room is NOT deep at all. Second, Deng Deng is a rare and special talent at WR. Enjoy him at UND while you can.
