  1. But ankle tackles do happen and are legal correct? Its part of the game?
  2. I'm guessing every player on that field will have the same goal in mind.
  3. It took these posts to get you to hope your starting QB is healthy and plays really well? Wow.
  4. I hope the UND is in position multiple times throughout the game to determine exactly how they are going to tackle Carson Wentz and what ankle to attack. In reality, at game speed a player is not going care how he brings a player down, he is just going to bring them down. What is known is right now Carson Wentz has an injured ankle. Nobody knows how bad it truely is and I suspect he will be playing in two weeks. I don't think it is a month long injury and a coach would never tell anyone if it was. If it is that bad where there is such a severe risk of further injury, he better stay on the bench.
  5. Again, two hand touch is what is acceptable or is it only tackle above the waist ? I see it now, when Wentz plays if any tackle is made below the waste the Bison faithful will be claiming targeting and it was a cheap shot. Even though actually tackling below the waist is legal. If your scared of him re-injuring it, he better stay on the sidelines.
  6. LOL at this post. When does the memo go out that it is two hand touch on the Bison QB the rest of the season?
  7. I did not leave that game overly impressed with Montana's QB. He left points and yards on the field by missing some throws a college QB should make. He also got hurt by some drops. It will be interesting to see how that offense does the rest of the season. I think NDSU was caught off guard by how talented/athletic Montana's WR's were. They are good but a lot of teams in the Big Sky have one or two that are as good or better. It is a position of strength in this conference. Defensively, Montana was similar to what they have been in the past a very athletic LB group and secondary. Coming into the game I didn't think they would match up well up front but they held their own in passing situations. It will be interesting to see how they do vs. Cal Poly. All in all- it was two good teams who will get better. It was a fun game to watch and it got me excited for this coming Saturday.
  8. I didn't expect any discipline from FU on this regardless of what the tape showed. In this situation, some discussion is warranted, suspension unlikely. The ironic thing with this is the FU fans here and in their board talking about the likely cheap shots during our upcoming game because Bubba "won't be able to control his players".
  9. will be interesting to see how that is handled in Fargo? You can't have players laying a hand on fans no matter what was said. Which Fargo journalist will ask the hard hitting questions? Has Morlock already suffered enough?
  10. wow, similar to the Oregon player a few years back. Not good. Will be interesting to see what happened/happens.
  11. when is NDSU starting that again?
  12. Both teams looked good week 1 and will get better as the year goes along. Montana will be tough to beat in Missoula but their offense won't surprise anyone mid season. Get pressure on that QB is the key. UNDs O-line is the key to our season. I won't make any predictions until I see them in action.
  13. it was one game Darell. They will still be a tough team for anyone to beat with their offense and a defense that should get better as the year goes along.
  14. Great game. Great way to kick off FCS. Two good teams who will get better as the year goes on. Great win for the Big Sky.
  15. Montana's offense is fun to watch but will struggle with this QB. He is killing them with poor throws.
  16. lol. It would be Welles deserved. The kid is a hell of a QB.
  17. And their QB can't throw a ball. He's left points on the board in both red zone possessions with poor throws.
  18. In fairness to the people in Twamley Hall and Hyslop, our fanbase and the state of North Dakota has not allowed them to move on. They would have gladly done it 5 years ago. That argument has been brought up and labeled as fear mongering.
  19. Some of this responsibility is on the coaching staffs as well. They have to start spreading the message to their alumni on how important this is for the university. NDSU's way of doing this is one example of how to do it. They choose the raise money now route to capitalize on their momentum. A solid business case can be put together for this and I think UND fans would step to the plate as well. There is no award for being the 2nd FCS team to do it. They aren't starting until 2016 so they aren't going to get recruits this year because they announced this yesterday. However, now a bullet point for the other regional schools is its here. To be competitive, we will need to push this forward but the communication of the dollars and what it is for is the key component. Also, a big year from the basketball, football and volleyball programs wouldn't hurt.
  20. Maybe he talked to all 7 of them in the park last weekend.
  21. Glad to finally be reading some topics about sporting events again. Great win ladies.
  22. Good article on the approach from USD and SDSU. Good read with some good quotes from ADs and coaches. http://www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/2015/08/28/jacks-coyotes-follow-ndsus-lead-pay-athletes/71290788/
  23. I don't think any. I think they either won't vote or pick a name they could handle.
  24. UND should only focus immediately on being able to offer COA for football, volleyball, mens and womens basketball, mens and womens hockey and which ever other women's sports to even out the Title 9 requirements. Two reasons- I think the baseball, tennis, golf, track and field coaches, etc. would rather have a few more scholarships for their programs. Offering a few more kids is more important than paying more to the kids your offering.Saying your doing it for all sports is great for the fans only. Your not going to lose a football or hockey player cause you are not doing this for tennis. You can always add to the other sports as funds become available.
  25. The stadium is the only thing that is holding/will hold them back.
