If I am the judge in the case, the one very obvious point is that the players and former players did not do the work when they were gathering the petition signatures and these few individuals did not do the work after the court case. They had their chance at redemption and blew it. Now I throw the book at them and hope it provides an education. It would be interesting to see a rating of the students that rated their professors, such as: a) Dedicated student who is here to learn as much as possible b) Somewhat serious student, but doesn't want to work too hard c) Goes to class regularly, but homework assignments should not be allowed d) Prefers classes that do not require any study e) Tried to go to class, but decided I really couldn't live like that f) What is a classroom? g) Hasn't sobered up since the day before the first day of class

Isn't the BTN already broadcasting something at those times with advertising revenue? If so, it isn't all incrementally new revenue. Some of it will just replace what they lose. Just asking, because I don't watch BTN (by choice).

Relax DLW4GOPHERS. We are barely into the off-season, a time when everyone blows smoke about anything, whether or not it is true. My experience is mostly watching the Gophers versus the Sioux, or watching the Gophers when the Sioux do not have a game. You have to admit, during that stunning loss to the Sioux in the Final Five last year there could have been serious injuries in the third period as the Gopher fans rushed the door trying to get out.

If its the third period and the Gophers are behind, or if the Gophers get behind by three at any point, at least 80% of the seats are empty.

Mario scored three goals in his last four games as a Sioux, all against Minnesota. Maybe he was a late bloomer. He spent most of his career skating against fourth lines. If he was a scoring machine at that time, he should have been scoring more goals against other teams fourth lines. He was clearly an asset in the role he played, but he never showed the ability to be a top scorer in the NCAA.

It would be the WCHA. They could claim that they are supporting the other MN schools (except for UMD) and then they also wouldn't have to play UND.

His senior year at UM, Spehar did not have a single 5 X 5 goal the entire season until the WCHA Final Five. I remember that he took a lot of heat for that.

I have to go with Brett Hull. He was downright scary. A fast skilled skater, a cannon of a slapshot, and a wrist shot that was harder than most people's slapshots. I was scared he was going to score every time he touched the puck.
