Who here would have ever guessed that of the 5 NCC schools that moved to DI last decade that UND would wind up having the worst football team?

I agree that the seating behind the baskets should be upgraded. But the Sioux Center has been very LOUD in the past. It has been sold out on multiple occaisons in the DII days, and once or twice against USD during the transition. When it is full, I think it is a fantastic place to watch basketball...........................

If Pelini gets axed at Nebraska, I'd have to assume that Bohl would be on the short list. Tom Osbourne was his mentor as a player and coach, and by all accounts the two remain close. I believe that Osbourne was in Washington D.C. when Bohl was thrown under the bus at Nebraska. Pretty hard to argue with the guy's resume.................

If they are old enough to serve their country in the military, then they should be able to handle criticism from their coach and from the fans that help foot the bill for their eduaction without being too emotionally scarred from it.

These are not kids, they are adults. Most of whom are being paid, in the form of scholarship dollars, to play a sport at a public university. IMO, they are fair game for public criticism, just as the coaching staff is. Mussman criticizing his players in public is one of the few positive things he's done this season as far as I am concerned.

The wide receivers haven't lived up to their billing, because the QB can't get them the ball. The QB can't get them the ball because the O-Line can't pass protect.

Before I had season tickets and a parking pass, we used to A) get there real early and look for a spot on one of the streets directly South of REA, B) park in the Med school lot, C) park in the Memorial Stadium lot and ride the bus, or D) park in the Memorial Stadium lot and walk. Options B and D were some pretty cold-assed walkes in January and February. I suppose there were financial reasons for discontinuing the bus, but I personally don't like it, and like I said, I have parking pass and didn't use the bus save for once or twice. Parking is a major problem at REA. Trying to park near the Sioux Center for a noon basketball game on the same day as a hockey game is like being interrogated by Homeland Security. Relatively speaking, it is like 3 times more work to get from your car to the REA vs. getting from your car to the Alerus, Fargodome, Excel, Target Center, Metrodome, etc...........................

You are right, the ineptitude is amazing at this point. It is hard for me to wrap my head around around the 180 degree turns that the offensive and defensive units have made over the course of this season. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the defense is stellar by any means. But we all said the defense was going to be the biggest concern coming into the season, and from the onset, it was. However, the defense has actually improved as the season has gone on. They were a huge liability against the Montana schools, but they made key stops against EWU and Sac St., and their play was good enough in those games to give the team a chance to win. The offense has regressed in an alarming fashion. We knew with a freshman QB, that it would take step back from last season, but it seems we've taken two or three steps back, and not neccessarily because of QB play. I hate the "hurry-up/no-huddle/look to the sidelines for the play while at the line of scrimmage/while still taking 38 seconds to snap the ball" offense. Just huddle-up and get the formation and the play called correctly. This thing they have been doing reeks of the gimmicky pistol offense they experimented with then abandoned a couple years ago. Keep it simple. Call a play, take your time, and then execute it and see what happens. Stop trying to fool the opposing defense, because it is not happening.

I think there are some good players on this roster, throughout the classes. I actually think Mussman has been a pretty decent recruiter in his time here, especially given the circumstances surrounding the transition and the nickname, it is just not translating to on the field success for whatever reason. The secondary is pretty weak outside of Kuksa. I like the Linebacker corps including seniors like Goodman, Finley, and Bennett. The defensive line has been lacking, but it looks like there is some quality talent there amongst the youngsters. Except for the RB position, there are multiple talented players on the roster at the skill positions like WR and QB. We just don't know about the RB position because nobody but Miller or Garman are allowed to touch the ball for some reason. The biggest deficiency is the offensive line. It seems they can't pass protect, and they can't run block. It would be preferable to have an O-Line that could at least do one or the other, if not both...................

Idaho St must be really bad if we were able to beat them.................. I didn't make it to the game, but my wife did and she said it was the same BS on the sidelines all day. Players laughing it up and basically appeared to not give a hoot that there was a football game going on...............

Wow, no kidding................. They even snuck in references to hockey, Southern Canada, and managed to belittle our football program in a basketball thread. Somone there definately must have gotten a copy of Bisonville's bullet points..................

Unfortunately, it is quite possible that Hornet fans are feeling the same way about this game....................
