I think 4 wins is best case scenario. I don't see wins against NAU or PSU. Sac, Davis, and UNC could all go either way as far as I can tell.......

I was at the game in Greeley. I was surprised that they didn't try the FG, but a 53 yarder is hardly a gimmie. It wasn't "windy" per say, but there was a bit of cross breeze. I didn't pay attention, but maybe Zeb wasn't killing it warmups that day? I'll defer to the coaching staff on that one. If I recall, Braden Hanson made some pretty poor throws in that game, that led to UNC getting back into it. Of course, the defense couldn't make up for it. Mussman's in-game decisions generally arent' bothersome to me. My biggest worry is how he preps the team each week for a given opponent. There appears to be something left to be desired in that department..................

Brekke is the most proven and skilled offensive post player that the team has. If he sees a lot of minutes this year, it will be because he is healthy and he is talented, not to "reward" him for his time put in. This team suffered immensely last year due to his absence. IMO, if Brekke averages 25 minutes in 30 or so games this year, then this team will likely be dancing.................. Nash plays a different position. If Calcaterra can unseat Brekke, then he must be a special player................

Anybody else hear Kolpack whining on WDAY radio last night about Towson getting ONE first place vote in the coaches poll? It was like deja vu all over again.

The eternal optimist in me feels the need to point out the following: -EWU has not been particularly good at stopping the run -EWU is -3 in the Turnover department (although UND is -7) -EWU has racked up nearly as many penalties as we have -EWU hasn't gotten after opposing QB's all that well On paper, it doesn't look like EWU is nearly as good as either Montana St. or Montana. But I'd say they've played a much tougher schedule than both of those schools. On the other hand, they still look a helluva lot better than us..........................

I had an issue with the TV broadcast. It wasn't available to me.......................... Interesting problem I have. I stream alot of sports via a dedicated PC with HDMI output to my TV. Used to have lots of trouble with IE, so I switched to Chrome. Problem solved. Except for UNDsports.com. Can't watch anything through Chrome on that site, only IE. And even then, to call it watchable, would be stretching it. I still haven't gotten to watch a single UND Sports Extra, or North Dakota Hockey episode this year, because I don't have 2 hours available to watch a 24 minute show. Of course it is obviously on "my end". But I have the fastest internet available to me at this time. I have little trouble streaming anything that doesn't originate from UNDSports.com....................

Amazing what a top notch facility and a top notch coach will do for a program. Volleyball was horrible for 25 years before the Sioux Center and then Ashlee Hardee came along. And this program is experiencing its greatest success in its history at a much more difficult level of play than it participated in for its first 25 years.................

I am also very excited about the possibilities that this season may hold. As much hoopla that surrounds Huff, Anderson, and Webb, (rightfully so), I think the key success to this season will be Brekke and Traylor. If Brekke can stay healthy, and Traylor can stay eligible, that gives us two offensively skilled post players, something this team has not had for a long time. That'll take alot more pressure off of Huff and Anderson. Nash is a wildcard. We've all heard how athletic he is. Can't wait to see if it is true.........

I thought the defense was fine against ISU. They gave up some yards, but they forced some turnovers, and got off the field in certain situations. They did not do that at all against Montana St. or Montana. They did do that for about 2 quarters against SDSU. Offensively, they ran the ball well against the Bengals and that is only going to help Mollberg, or Bartels. But you have to consider the competition as well. Regarding the QB play, I thought Mollberg looked alright, but he has to stop throwing into triple coverage. That first INT was awful. He's young, and will get better, but at this point he needs to learn quick, because this defense is not one that has shown that it can bail him out...............

Some interesting results today including Cal Poly, UC Davis, and Southern Illinois. The UNI-FU game was excellent. Surprised the way MSU rolled NAU considering NAU did the same to the Griz last week.
